The List #1

The List

Rate this book
It all starts with a list.

A sex list.

Cassie Michaels comes up with a list of naughty experiences to impress her sisters and finally convince them—and herself—she's not just a boring soil scientist. Unfortunately, it also makes Cassie a liar if she doesn't tick off at least some of the kinky exploits before her sister's bachelorette party. Luckily, she's found just the man to help her, starting with number four—sex with an anonymous stranger.

As the owner of a chain of computer shops, Simon Traxel doesn't deal with mundane repairs, but when a brunette with killer green eyes and a list of sexploits frozen across her computer screen shows up at one of his shops, he's ready to get a little hands on.

Simon's more than willing to have some fun helping Cassie turn her made-up adventures into reality. Between steamy public romps that go hilariously awry, and sexy antics with kitchen utensils, getting through a to-do list has never been this much fun. But nearing the last few items means nearing the end of their time together, and Simon isn't ready to let her go...

➳A techie nerd who finds a passion both physically and emotionally with someone who is a complete klutz and loves to get down and dirty… **smirks**

➳This has to be the first book by Tawna Fenske that I have ever read, and I have really fallen in love with both her writing and her charisma. An author’s way of writing is always identified really easily when enjoying a book of theirs, and Tawna has done that 100%! She introduces her characters of Simon Traxel and Cassondra Michaels (also known as Cassie) in such a wonderful transition of events that land them together in events that later on keep them close, both physically and emotionally. Simon is the rightful CEO of the branches of Hot Swap Computer Sales and Repairs, in which are scattered all around the nation. He has been a complete nerd since high school, but changed drastically throughout the years in the departments of his physic and also the mental status of relationships. Having trouble of trusting women, due to his past relationships with women who only cared about his money, Simon decides to keep his identity as a CEO of a huge franchise a secret from Cassie. Her being a dirt-loving soil researcher with a PhD in crop and soil science, has no clue as what the socialite life of a billionaire is and has no desire to know. Hence why she does not know about Simon’s status.

➳Cassie is honestly the best example to describe my personally when talking to the guy who I really like but cannot seem to respond to his question about going to prom. She is so clumsy, but beyond intelligent, that some of her actions are just plain dumb of what she does. Simon on the other hand, finds this attribute of hers absolutely adorable and beyond different from the women he has dated in the past. She is such a mess in a comical way! A completely different person from the first time Simon meets her, to the person who is making him turn into a different persona;
“I can’t believe she’s turning out to be like this in the sack. She was adorable in the shop, then shy on her couch. But the way she’s talking now shows me a whole different version of Cassie…”

➳The main purpose of their “relationship” is to find the means ends to the problem that got Cassie in Simon’s shop in the first place. Try to finish her bucket-sex-list. Simon finds it intriguing and volunteers to help her out. Though some of the things in the list are hot, others are just rather… hmmm.. unpleasant. As far as relationships go, both Simon and Cassie have it at clears end that they are not looking for one. However, time passes and they spend a lot of time together, craving their meet ups even when they aren’t together intimately. By checking off stuff from The List, they both sense this feeling of longing and sadness throughout the story because once they finish the list, they both know they need to part ways. But the way they both act with each other, finding things about each other that only couples would be, brings a passion of loving to the reader for these two;
“I’m loving how brainy she is. How fucking smart and passionate and excited about a career that’s utterly unique…”

➳They both have this fun and vibrant vibes when they are together. Even physically they both take this alternative world of acting like teenagers, goofing around, and going to places that couples would enjoy together. And this is what I love about this story, bringing something that is highly unique and still has that cliche sense of a love story to it. Tawny has definitely made it to my favorites list and I cannot wait to read more about other characters in this series!

Cassie is a soil researcher with a PhD in crop and soil science (whatever that means 😂🤷‍♀️). She has two older sisters, but she is the dullest one. Well, she has a PhD in crop and soil, for god's sake!!!! 😂😂😂
She does not mind marrying the perfect man or purchasing the newest designer dress or being the perfect host like them – so she tells stories about her daring erotic adventures.
Only, they are all lies… 😬

📚 "𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐭". 𝐀 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐱𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐈'𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬. 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐈'𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐝. 𝐍𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈'𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧. 📚

The story begins when Cassie, after drinking a little too much wine, drops the glass on the computer keyboard and caused her Fucket list to get stuck on the screen. 😱🍷
She wrote the list so she would not forget the stories for her sister's upcoming bachelorette party. 🤪
Cassie goes to fix the computer and meets Simon, a mysterious computer geek. She hopes he does not notice the list that froze on the screen… but after he fixes the computer, he comes to her house to return it in person – and offers to be the one to help fulfill the challenge and making the list from lies to trues. As the list gets shorter and time runs out, will one of them have the courage to ask for more? 😍

📚 “𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬, 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐧.”

It's a smutty fast read with a sexy and sweet plot (well, a story about two nerds is always good 🤪). It was a fun read but it does not have too much depth in it ( however, it has too much sex 🤦‍♀️). Still, I loved that even though it's cliché, it was original… ❤

Overall Opinion: This book bummed me out. This was funny, I liked the characters, the sexy times were fun as well as hot...but then it just stopped. I didn't feel like the ending was fitting at all. I think it had so much potential to be more if certain things were addressed and experienced instead of just swept under the rug and under (what I consider) a half a$s epilogue. They have their conflict resolved and then the epilogue is right after. We get ZERO time with them as an actual couple! We don't get to see the h cope with his true identity and profession! We don't get to experience the h and H interacting with the H's sister! We don't get the h and H with the H's family and how they all work together! Completely disappointing.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Cassie and Simon's story. They meet when Cassie takes her laptop in to one of Simon's many computer shops that he owns. Simon is intrigued by the girl that could care less about flirting with him but has this adventurous sexual bucket list stuck in her computer screen. He soon offers to help her go through her list, and they start a no-strings-attached fling that has them developing stronger feelings for one another. There is a big secret revealed, a good bit of sexy times, and some funny moments...and they get a HFN ending.

POV: This alternated between Cassie and Simon's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good until the end. I never skimmed and I thought it flowed well otherwise.

Instalove: No, they take a while to develop stronger feelings. Instalust? Yes!

H rating: 3 stars. Simon. I liked him for the most part but I also wanted him to be more upfront with the h.

h rating: 4 stars. Cassie. I liked her. I appreciated how she took control of her sexuality and how she wasn't embarrassed to be herself.

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed

Push/Pull: Yes

Heat level: Good. They have some good tension, chemistry, and scenes. There is a good bit of sex in this. I wouldn't say it crosses that line into being what I consider "erotica" (sex over story) vs. "erotic romance" (story over sex) but it was pretty darn close.

Descriptive sex: Yes

OW/OM drama: No

Sex scene with OW or OM: Not really IMO

Cheating: No

Separation: No. They are never "together" for me to say they were separated.

Possible Triggers: Not really

Closure: This was a super frustrating ending! It made me say "that's it?!" I don't get why we don't have any time with them as an official couple or any time with them navigating the obstacles in their relationship. So frustrating. I'd definitely call this one a HFN ending.

Safety: This one should be either Safe or Safe with exception for most safety gang readers depending on personal preferences.

Oh, my goodness was this book CUTE. Super SWEET. Super FUNNY. Super SEXY.

I honestly don't have a whole lot to say about this one. I LOVED it...simple as that. Simon was a smokin' hot piece of geek meat who had a heart of gold. I loved the way he was with his sister and honestly, would have loved to see more interaction between them. As well as between his sister and Cassie.

description

Cassie was a great heroine. Smart and sweet. And I loved her relationship with her sisters as well. When these two were not melting the pages on my tablet they were making me laugh my butt off. This was simply just a really well written...well paced...humourous...low angst read.

Now, this did lose half a star for the less than great epilogue. That's just personal preference. I like marriage and babies. That said, we are most likely getting a book featuring one of Cassie's sisters (seemed that way) so I am sure we will see more of this couple in that (fingers crossed).

After reading the blurb for this, grabbing it was a no brainer. Because I have a fondness for a computer geek. So much so that I have my very own who, 15 years ago, when I worked for a global computer sales company of which he was a customer, I bonded with over our mutual love of a good quality hard drive. I've also read some highly amusing and sexy books by Tawna Fenske.

It does what it says on the tin, there's a list, a very dirty list, and Simon and Cassie do a fine job in crossing the items off. Both smart and completely endearing, their chemistry is off the charts.

"You do have an impressive sexual imagination."

It's fun, it's filthy, has a good dose of heartwarming thrown into the mix and if I'm honest it was actually more than I expected storyline wise, because I haven't had that much luck with the Scorched imprint until now. If a quick, sex-filled romp with great characters is what you're after, then this will indeed scratch the itch.

The List is a short and seriously smutty read with a fun story-line that had me smiling and swooning. An easy ride from start to finish. Super LIGHT on angst and heavy on sexy times. These two characters will have you falling in love. They are unique and quirky! I couldn't get enough.

To start with, for me, this felt a bit too "contrived" and "forced" in how the hero and heroine got together...it was feeling a but like a quick excuse to just get a book of no story and all sex!

However, tbh, I was pleasantly surprised that once we actually got into it, there was more to it. It was actually a sweet story, heartwarming and a thoroughly enjoyable read.

Both the hero and heroine were great characters, and I actually really like the heroines sisters, I wonder if the one sister will get her own book... I would actually really like to read that.

It never got too deep, but it suited the story, we know the past of the characters, and how it effects them now, but it was not dwelt on too much.

It was an enjoyable, fun, romantic read. 4 stars

Pretty much exactly what I needed it to be. Yes, there were a number of issues-including the heroine's self-confidence regarding her feminity as well as her sisters

But in the end. Just what I wanted

The List by Tawna Fenske was a fun, sweet and enjoyable read.

I enjoyed the storyline, Simon and Cassie were likable and endearing characters that I easily connected with.
I loved watching their relationship unfold, they made me laugh, they made me swoon and by the end I knew these two would have a happy life together.

Overall, The List is a quick, and steamy read with great characters that will entertain you from the first page until the last.
Another wonderful read by Tawna Fenske and a great start to The List series!

Well this is published by Entangled under their Scorched banner and it certainly lives up to that! Computer geek turned millionaire, Simon Traxel, tries to help a young lady, Cassie Michaels, in a panic when her laptop has frozen and discovers a list on the screen that is just too hot to handle. The list is of all the sexploits she has claimed to have been involved with - all fictitious but all ways of distracting her two sisters’ attention. He returns her laptop to her and they make a deal to endeavour to complete the list together and so their sexual antics start in what they agree will be a sex-only deal. Get ready for scorching hot descriptions of their antics and cringe worthy awkward times, too, as Simon pretends to be a geek working in the store rather than its owner.

If you like your novels packed with explicit sexual romps and a heartwarming romance, you’ll probably love this.

Many thanks to the publishers who gifted me a copy of this book through NetGalley without any obligations. This is my honest review after choosing to read it!

First person, Dual-POV, HAE. Can be read as standalone.

4.5 "Simon says fuck me" stars

Humor, plenty of love scenes hot enough to knock your pants clean off, and two equally likable characters.

If you're a fan of stories in which two characters enter a deal, and fall in love during the execution of said deal, this is the book for you.

Cassie is a doctor of soil. Spending most of her time in a lab or outdoors, she doesn't have time for relationships even though she tells her sisters stories of her extravagant love-making so she can seem a little less like the dull one in the family. Spending a wine-filled night compiling a list of her dishonest trysts, she freezes her computer and has to bring it in to the computer repair shop nearby. Only problem? The screen is still locked on her list.

"The List". A collection of ten sexy experiences I've invented over the years. Some of the biggest whoppers I've told. Never mind that the kinkiest thing I've done lately was analyze root systems for an aspen grove in Central Washington.

That's where our hero, Simon comes in. He's the owner of a computer repair company that's branched out and has been seriously successful. He's tired of women wanting him for his money, and decides to nix the idea of relationship altogether. He can't help his curiosity, though, about the ragged-looking girl with strikingly green eyes that came in with her computer, begging for help.

She thinks he's a simple repair person, thus making her all the more appealing. Plus, when he sees her list, well he's even more intrigued.

He decides to offer his help - he'll assist her in checking off the items on her kinky list, and then they'll go on their merry way.

Neither one expects to have so much in common with the other, or to really enjoy spending time together. But, alas, even without the sheen of his heavy bank account and fancy cars, Cassie seems to like him for him. Soon, both are trying to stretch the days between items on the list, not wanting their time together to end.

It's a story of love knocking you upside the head when you least expect it, and it just makes you feel good.

A story I hunkered down with my sweatpants (like Cassie) and wine (like both of them, together), and couldn't stop reading.

'Til next time cuties ;)

Believe it or not, this is only the second of Tawna's books I've ever read. This one was A LOT of fun, too. Rich, geeky guy meets smart, relatable woman and hot AF sexy fun ensues? Totally up my alley.

I absolutely adored Cassie and Simon. Their meet-cute made me smile and giggle. I enjoyed the chemistry they had right from the very start. I loved that he agreed to help her complete "the list" of things she'd told her sisters she'd already done. And ooooooh boy. What a list it was! Sexy times being spanked with a spatula in the kitchen sounds ok, so does roleplay. Beyond that? Maybe not so much for me. But, this isn't about me and perhaps that's why I enjoyed reading it so much. Ha!

The List was a great read and fun start to a new series by an author I'm happy I rediscovered. It was sexy and funny and low on angst. I really liked the characters and even the relationship Cassie had with her sisters. I'm looking forward to see what comes next in this series!

Simon is the ultimate hero because he makes nerdy sexy, while Cassie is a creative heroine. Cassie has spent years making up a wild sex life and when her computer freezes with a list of stories she told her sister, she need help fixing her computer. Simon is intrigued and all too willing to help Cassie accomplish her list because she is not only sexy but one interesting woman. One simple agreement of no strings hook up get messy when feeling become involved especially when Simon is hiding some stuff from Cassie. I liked the story and the storyline but I feel like the suspense with the characters was lacking. It was an overall good novel so I would give it 4 stars.

Slick's review:

How do I love The List? Let me count the ways…seriously I like LOVE, LOVE this list. This book was smart, funny, exhilarating, sexy and downright fun. I loved the geeky hero and heroine even though they geeked out on different things, I loved that they appreciated each other just the way they are, and while I was a bit disappointed in the hero’s decision to not be upfront about most aspects of his life I could also understand is reasoning for doing so. I have been a huge supporter of author Tawna Fenske’s work for some time now, but I honestly feel The List is her best work to date.

When Cassie takes her wine soaked laptop into the repair shop to see if it can be fixed, she doesn’t expect to come across a sexy, geeky repair guy and ask him to not pay attention to what is frozen on her screen. Simon does his best to assure her they are discrete, but he also can’t help but be interested in Cassie’s Fucket List, and to understand exactly what that is, you must read this book.

Simon offers his services up to Cassie to help her fulfill everything on her list so that she can experience everything she’s told her sisters she’s done with men over the years. Finding him charming and sexy Cassie agrees. I loved these two together; they are both extremely intelligent and have no problem experimenting and enjoying every wicked thing Cassie has imagined and then some. They are well matched not only physically but intellectually too. The more time they spend together, it becomes obvious that while they are enjoying their physical arrangement, they crave more from one another.

Geeky, freaky, and sexy The List by Tawna Fenske was a fabulous, smart, and flat out fun story that I didn’t want to end!

Oh, how I love nerdy heroes. Like - adore nerdy heroes. And this book is special because both of the leads are nerdy – but not in the way you might expect. Simon and Cassie are both comfortable with themselves and with the lives they’ve chosen. They’re not awkward or socially inept – but they’re still nerdy in the most charming, adorable, hilarious way imaginable.

As you might expect from a book based on fulfilling what amounts to a sexual bucket list – there’s a lot of sexy times going on here. However, it never felt gratuitous to me. I think it helped that there are some genuine feelings that deepen and blossom over the course of the book, and some delightful flirty banter that added heart to all this sizzling heat. It also helped that Simon and Cassie are both genuinely likeable characters (despite some questionable decision making) – so I felt connected to them as they built their own connection.

There’s also a ton of humor here. Like, the good “laugh-out-loud” stuff. The kind that may have caused me to snort-laugh in bed and accidentally wake up my husband. Honestly, this book was just a bright ray of sunshine pulling me out of a bit of a book slump, and I loved it so much.

I even had some unexpected secondary character love. Unexpected because I didn’t think I’d wind up liking some of these side characters much in the beginning – but Ms. Fenske managed to turn that around and make me feel all glowy happy about them. Because of that, I’m excited to see where she takes this series from here. There’s a whole ton of potential and I’m enthusiastically on board!

In all, The List was light-hearted and heartwarming - and I had so much fun reading this book! As for you? If you like your stories short & sweet but packed full of humor, heart and heat – don’t hesitate to pick this one up! ~ Shelly, 4.5 Stars

This was a really fun and sexy read that I NEEDED. It had my favorite nerdy, geeky (and dare I mention HOT af) type of hero and a quirky heroine we ALL came to love and adore. This book was just so amazing. If you haven't noticed I'm still incoherently fangirling because I'm not ready to let Simon and Cassie go yet.

I absolutely adored The List for the main reason that these characters were just so darn genuine. The minute I started this

book I could not wipe the smile off my face. I enjoyed the seriously belly-laugh inducing parts, the steamy sexy times, and just flat out watching two socially awkward people falling in love and not even knowing it.

While there were times I wanted to slap Simon on the back of his head, I absolutely loved and understood his heartwarming reasons for doing what he did. More than Simon though, I think I adored Cassie the most. She was sweet, kind and just plain old awkward at times. But she knew who she was deep down inside and flat out embraced it. She found her own little happy hut in the sand (Read: dirt) and was happy as a clam being herself.

All in all pick up this book if you're in the mood for two perfectly matched people who may not have understood how to navigate the winding roads of love but just knew they wanted to do it together. I can not wait for more books from this author! Bravo! 4.5 stars! ~Ratula

Oh, don’t you just hate it when a little white lie or two comes back and bites you on the butt? That’s exactly what’s happened with Cassie Michaels. Because, you know, Karma is a bitch…

Cassie meets Simon Traxel when she brings her busted laptop in to his computer shop for repairs. As the owner of the chain, Simon is rarely working behind counter, but he’s sure happy he’s there that day when Cassie walks in. She catches his attention with her personality and killer green eyes and Simon decides she’s definitely worth his time—especially if it means she needs some personal hands-on assistance.

Cassie’s mortified that she’s having to get her computer repaired. She’s been lying to her sisters for years to present a fake “sex queen” façade when in reality she’s just a simple girl who works too much and dates too little. But now that she’s having to plan her sister’s bachelorette party and apply some of her *ahem* experience to make it as wild as her so called sex life, Cassie’s at a bit of a loss.

Until Simon steps up to the plate. Gorgeous, fun, smart, sexy Simon is more than happy to help Cassie cross her wild sexy lies off her list—The List—help her experience what she’s been missing. Now if they can just keep their hearts out of the mix—keep it just sex… Good luck with that.

I loved this sweet, funny, sexy story. Simon and Cassie are both adorable and just all around awesome. I loved their witty banter. Their hilarious sexcapades and just their all-around relationship. I loved their interactions—their sense of fun and adventure. I loved watching them fall for each other. I also adored the secondary characters—Cassie’s “perfect” sisters: Missy and Lisa. I’m hoping that their stories will be told soon! ~ Missy, 4.5 stars

I like Tawna Fenske’s stories. This one about a hot tech nerd and the geeky firecracker red haired was so much fun, sweet, endearing and definitely smoking hot!

What about a sexy stranger to help you fulfill your fantasies? A list of all the things you wanted to do but too afraid to take the leap?

The beginning was kind of bold but I loved it!

I was totally entertained and captivated by Simon and Cassie’s story.

When this beauty ended to his shop, Simon was suddenly taken aback, entranced. Cassie was so natural and wasn’t fooling around. How could he pass the opportunity to help this feisty brunette when all she needed was an extra pair of hands?

They both met in the most simple way but got together in the most surprising one. The main of their relationship is to find a mean to an end, Cassondra wanted to experience the things on her list and Simon was the one that would enjoy the benefits from this. A simple and no string attached engagements. No complications, but of course you knew that it wasn’t going to be that simple …

The way that list started was kinda surprising to me but as the story unfold, Cassondra won me over. Their chemistry was awesome, the banter really great. A strong dose of hotness and sweetness with a hint of laughter!

The tortoiseshell glasses he wears frame brown eyes the exact color of undrained alluvial silt.
That sounded sexier in my mind.

Here’s what I love about Tawna Fenske’s books—the humor that makes me ache from laughter. I’ve now read several of her books, and she hasn’t failed to amuse me yet. But, oh, I think The List might just be the funniest—and the sexiest—I’ve read so far.

You guys, this book... Right from the start, I was smitten with Simon, the sexy geek/millionaire and Cassie, the quirky soil scientist. They were PERFECT for one another—their braininess complemented by their adorableness, complemented by their awkwardness.

Except... they actually weren’t all that awkward. At least, not to each other. Their banter was so natural and their chemistry so damn hot, that I couldn’t help but root for them, as well as appreciate them.

“I love that you mix slang with the clinical terminology.”
“Science geeks can talk dirty, too.”

And melt for them. In more ways than one, TBH. I mean, sure, my heart was all a-flutter for their friendship/frivolous sexy toy relationship, but HOLY HELL, my panties barely survived this book. The dirty talk was scientifically pleasing, the titular list both hilarious (that title though… *chuckles*) and sexy. Admittedly, I’m still a little stuck on number one, but can you blame me?!

If you haven’t picked up on my enthusiasm for this book yet, then let me be clear: THIS BOOK WAS A-MAZ-ING. And from the looks of it, just the first of more in a new series, which makes me a very happy reader. A very happy reader who can’t wait to be amused by Ms. Fenske once again.

I’m an empowered, sexually-liberated woman who can take charge of her desires and visit a strip club and ogle other women and—dear God, what is that dancer doing with that man’s eggroll?

~ TEN Post Hole Digger STARS (one for every item on The List *wink* ~

I could seriously list a hundred reasons why I loved The List, but I could list even more for how much I simply adore Tawna Fenske's writing. She is emerging as one of my favorite romantic comedy writers out there, and I swear to you guys that you will all thoroughly enjoy her books.

So let me tell you guys about The List... Cassie is a woman just like you and me trying to fit in. Unfortunately for her, she's trying to fit in with her sisters instead of friends and attempting to convince them she isn't as boring as they think her to be. So in order to accomplish this, she tells a few fibs and things kind of get out of hand...hence the List. After a few glasses of wine, she compiles a list of all of the lies she has told them in hopes to complete a few of them before her sister's bachelorette party. Unfortunately for her, fate deals her a hand and one sexy stranger to help her along her way.

Simon is exactly the type of guy that Cassie's sisters want her to be with, but to his benefit he keeps that all hidden from Cassie while they focus on this sexy to-do list of hers with anonymity. It is quickly lust at first sight with these two, but their no-strings attached fun becomes so much more as each item gets ticked off the list.

This book had me laughing so much, and I thoroughly enjoyed every single second of it. I enjoy a good humored romance as much as anyone, but Fenske's writing is just something special. Her heroines are always witty, sexy, and have just the right amount of vulnerability to make them relateable. I devour each and every single book I read from Tawna, and The List was no exception. I can't recommend this one highly enough!

A hot and sweet story from one of my favorite romantic comedy authors! This one has plenty of laughs, and plenty of heat. Simon is used to women coming after him for his money, being the owner of 24 computer repair shops so when a frazzled woman comes into his shop with a frozen computer screen, it's refreshing that she isn't actually there for him. But what's on her computer certainly catches HIS attention - a sexual bucket list of sorts.

Cassie is mortified that her list of lies she's told her sisters about her sex life is now in the hands of a complete (and very attractive) stranger, but she's got no choice. As a soil scientist, technology is a key part of her life and she needs her computer in working order. Simon is quick and efficient and even returns the computer to her with an offer - he'd be happy to participate in item #4 - sex with an anonymous stranger. Cassie isn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth - she gladly accepts. From there, the two work there way up and down Cassie's list - but what will happen when they get to the end?

I enjoyed this! It's definitely on the hotter side, with several scenes that go into a little bit of light kink (hence the Scorched imprint) but all told with the author's usual comedic flair. Simon has a sister with Down's syndrome, and that's a key part of the story as well, as his protectiveness over her is part of what holds him back from getting involved in committed relationships. It hurts her when he breaks up with women she's become attached to, so it's easier to not get attached at all. Cassie is a smart, engaging woman who lacks a little self confidence when around her two sisters, women who always seem to have it together. Fulfilling the list with Simon emboldens her, and her relationship with her sisters takes a more positive turn by the end. It's a low angst story with minimal conflict but enough to make the happy ending worth while. If you're looking for laughs and steam, this one will do the trick.

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

This is the first book I've read by Tawna Fenske. I like how she was able to make a serious character become fun and really be the person she's supposed to be. Being a female in a male dominated profession doesn't leave much time for adventure and relationship seeking. So she's made some some stories. They're not hurting anything right?

Until they come back to bite her in the butt. HA! So Cassie has a list. Some people have a list of places they want to visit, places they want to see. Cassie has a list of sexual positions she's supposedly performed at random times/places with a random guy. As you can see from the blurb she spills wine on her laptop which has the list saved on it and when she takes it to the computer store down the street she's unaware of the sexy man who helps her happens to be the millionaire owner, Simon.

Simon is leary of women these days. Which happens, I suppose, when you're single, wealthy, and the press loves to flaunt your photo often when they can catch you. Simon isn't used to people not really knowing who he is and finding Cassie is unaware he volunteers to help with her list. Couldn't hurt right?

Gosh these two! I swear they couldn't be more fitting for one another. They have their flaws. They like to explore. Definitely take to pushing one another's boundaries when it comes to sex. Neither want a relationship...but can you really have a sexual relationship and not be in a relationship? Especially when you invite your partner to family events and other places.

Lines are definitely blurred with these two. The point is to make sure they stay in focus, though. Which proves to be a feat far greater than either expected. I definitely think you'll enjoy this story. It read pretty quickly for me and the characters are very likable.

I loved this book! Absolutely! A steamy, fun and enticing read!!

I'm not going to rewrite the blurb, I'll give you my take on this well written gem. Cassie, who loves what she does and who she is in that role, yet uncomfortable with her two over the top sisters who are all about looks, money and a one up. Compensating and getting out a yet another "event" that her sisters want her to go to, she starts making up these relatively wild sexcapcades. When her sisters bachelorette party draws near, she's making a list on her computer when she spills wine on the keyboard and takes it to the local shop where she meets Simon. Cassie is over the top embarrassed. When Simon returns her repaired computer personally the next evening, (which surprised me) he offers to help her with the list. (Surprise me again) So she agrees. She has no idea who Simon really is. That he has a sister with Downs Syndrome, who he loves dearly. That he owns a large chain of computer stores, millionaire and just featured in Forbes. These two really hit it off and they steamy scenes were so well done. Even when Cassie finds out by accident who Simon really is, there's a smoothness about it. No drama.

This trope may have been done before, but not the way Tawna has written these two characters. I loved them both. No contention, they were perfect and molded to each other in the best way. I really loved them both. The book is light, refreshing, steamy and there's abundant love in here.

5 Blazing Stars from me on this one. Great story Tawna!!!

Favorite Quotes:

I’d pegged him as more of a computer geek than a gym rat, but apparently the two can coexist. I open my mouth to say something, but close it fast so I don’t drool.

She’s wearing a low-cut white top and a tiara that suggests she’s either part of a bachelorette party or a misguided member of the royal family.

This was your chance to tell me some porn-star tale about how you nailed two chicks at once with your massive meat want and left them both begging for more.

My Review:

I giggle-snorted and smirked my way through this delightfully naughty and smartly written tale. Tawna Fenske has obviously been blessed by the goddess of words as her skills for witty and humorous word-craft are far beyond mere human ability. The storyline was engaging, entertaining, atomically steamy, and well paced, while the writing was crisp, clever, and highly amusing. I cannot imagine the painstaking research required for such an in-depth exposé and sincerely want to express my appreciation for her efforts, as the results were simply breathtaking.

Tawna Fenske - Kiss. Play. Love
eBook - 192 Seiten

I loved this story! Funny, sizzling hot, and an overall feel good story. The humor starts from the very beginning in the way Simon and Cassie meet and continues throughout the story as they scorchingly check each item off the "list"! The closer they come to completing the list the more neither of them wants to walk away as they originally agreed but Simon may not have been as truthful with Cassie as he should have been!!

Put this one on the must read list. It's a great read and I highly recommend it.

This was a really cute read. I liked both the h and H. The concept was super fun and intriguing, reminded me of the movie The To-Do List with Aubrey Plaza. The execution was good. The writing flowed easily and it only took me so long to finish because I started like 3 other books when I was on the epilogue of this one... lol.
