WHAT ARE YOU REALLY AFTER IN LIFE? A good time? Fame and fortune? Happiness? To satisfy is to quench, to adequately gratify. If something satisfies, it fulfills. It meets expectations. Whether we consciously know it or not, we're all looking to be gratified, to feel fulfilled. You live in a generation with easy access to mind-blowing experiences, endless entertainment, and all the worldly pleasures a heart could desire. But I still want to ask the question: With everything that's available to you in this world, will you find satisfaction? Most don't. I know I couldn't.
Lots of truth and easy to read. I think the audience of this book is very small. It’s written to those unfamiliar with Christianity, but with enough curiosity to read an entire book.
read it while i was at camp and it was a quick and easy read! there were good points in it and short stories that backed up the unsatisfactory things an earthly life gives you.
Started this book forever ago and put it down and finally picked it back up. The chapters are super short and it's a pretty straightforward read.
The book is super elementary into why we need faith and who God is. I've come to realize it's tailored towards high school students and college students who have yet found a true relationship with God so it's very baseline and repeats a lot of things I already knew but still good things to hear again nonetheless. But its primary audience is them so keep that in mind
Lots and lots of anecdotes and written in a super casual tone so it was an easy breeze. Not super engaging not super deep but a light read. Honestly I feel like I probably would've preferred reading something else
Audience: college students, who do not believe in/have a personal relationship with God
I think it is good overall - he covered a lot of common desires and pursuits in life, and many common misconceptions about God. Sean shares a lot of stories from his own life, and becomes very relatable/creditable. He also uses a lot of other stories to help illustrate what he’s teaching.
But I think he took too long to get to his point - and the editing was very poor (even distracting at times). [Poor editing: Everything from punctuation & spelling errors to grammatical structure. Really was too bad!]
Vollendorf addresses unchurched teenagers and college students primarily. Keep the audience in mind when reading this. Unsatisfied could be valuable to go through with a young non-Christian who's interested in the faith.
Excellent resource for college-aged students. Quick and easy read and very useful for group studies. The main idea is that nothing satisfies besides Christ, and many chapters are dedicated to why/how different things we search for satisfaction in don’t live up to our hopes to fulfill us.
Great for non-believers, new believers, and those that have been walking with the Lord for a long time. Tons of great stories in Sean's usual fashion but shows that we can never be satisfied apart from Christ. Would be a great book to give someone that is searching spiritually!
