On a quiet day in March, 1966, seven eyewitnesses reported an unidentified flying object maneuvering over Livingston and Washtenaw counties. Ordinarily, these reports might have been dismissed by officials as the work of cranks. But this time, the seven witnesses WERE officials -- police officers and sheriff's deputies from the two counties.
This issue of Sightings (Volume 4) explores the reported incidents of the Hillsdale UFO, as well as, those encounters which remained silent for decades. They are now collected here in one issue.
This entry in the Sightings series is probably the most disturbing. The author includes a forward, which the other editions don't have, regarding background on this particular incident. The first half of the book are known incidents of sightings of a UFO encounter and the "official" response. The second half are stories of people whose sightings were not told and they are spooky. This is another must for cryptid fans, expertly researched. The Sightings series is fantastic.
This book, “Sightings: Hillsdale UFO” by J. F. Rodo Rome is maybe the most disturbing in the series. I know this really happened, and the newspaper articles support the reality that it was suspiciously ridiculed and disappeared. This collection of stories recount the Hillsdale UFO events brings a chilling sense of authenticity, blending documented reports with an atmosphere of mystery and skepticism. The story’s unsettling realism left me questioning how easily the truth can be overshadowed by doubt and dismissal, making this entry both haunting and thought-provoking.
