Lexi was having a bad day. So, she did what we all do...and decided that she needed a drink. In her place, I would have closed down the bar.
What she got was Justin, the hot bartender with the tattoos, the hot sexy looks and the even sexier drink menu.
This was an erotic romance, so the focus of the story was to get Lexi and Justin naked as quickly as possible, and the author delivers. But, the fun of it is how the author gets them there, and how they drink their way from scene to scene.
I am all in, to the bottom, of an erotic romance that also gives me drink recipes. And, best of all, I believed in the relationship between them. Yes, as it was a shorter novel, and erotic, it was a little contrived...but I believed it. I believed in them.
Super sweet and very naughty read. A sexy bartender that can make you the perfect cocktail meets broken-hearted Lexi when she walks into his bar. It's love at first sight for Justin when Lexi comes into his bar looking to day drink her problems away. The author intertwines sexy and naughty cocktails with her love story between Justin and Lexi. My first read by Kate Deveaux and I really enjoyed it. Thanks NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.
Naughty cock-Tales are most certainly going to give you a rise or two maybe more. If they don’t get you the banter, bart-ening certainly will. Lexi never thought things would get so tough that she would be at a bar mid-day. She also never would have guessed she would want to stay at said bar. The naught drink names. The sexy bartender. The compassion behind his gestures. Justin specializes in having the perfect drink for that moment. So what that the drinks come with names that could make a schoolgirl blush or an experience woman wet her panties. This time he has a bigger objective behind give his drinks this time. He sees Lexi and was determined to make her have a better day. Then an even better one. This continues, until he wants much more than to make her a drink to make it all better.
Liking a little naughty with that drink then you need to visit Bottoms Up. May every drink fulfill the fantasy burning inside.
This is the first book I have read by Kate Deveaux but it won’t be my last. I enjoyed this story from Lexi’s downs and ups to her interaction with the sexy tattooed barman Justin. Bottoms Up is one I will definitely read again
Bottoms Up is an erotic romance novel with heavy emphasis on the erotic part. This tale by Kate Deveaux is about a woman called Lexi, who's having a really bad time of it. Dealing with grief, she's also lost her home and her job, and isn't sure how things can get any worse. Wanting to drown her sorrows, she heads into nearby bar Bottoms Up for some liquid comfort. Things start to look up for her then, as sexy barman Justin has a special talent for picking just the right cocktail for people.
The two hit it off over some saucily-named cocktails, and soon Lexi finds herself unable to resist returning to the bar, where the sudden absence of a waitress leaves a job opening. Lexi's financial and sex life both seem to be rapidly on the rise as, cocktail by cocktail, Justin mends her broken heart.
This is a very sexy read. Because of the way it's been structured (I don't want to say too much and give the game away), it lends itself to lots of very hot sex, without it feeling like it's been shoehorned in. It's all part of the story. That being said, there is still lots going on in this novel besides the sex, and the result is a very hot, very satisfying read, and one I'd recommend to erotic romance fans.

Whew! This book is definitely panty dropper, sexy, hot sort of read! It’s got a sweet love story, mixed with a bit of thrill, and lots of scorching hot intimate scenes. If these are the types of things you look for in a story then stop reading my review and one-click now. You’ll thank me later, I promise!
Now, for those of you who need a little more enticing, keep reading. I have to be honest though, I didn’t really know there would be as much sex as there was in the book. These scenes are pretty intense. They made me blush! I just knew someone with x-ray vision was going to read through my kindle and see the naughty playful scenes that were written across my kindle. It was such a great storyline that followed though; I couldn’t really put the book down.
It was an incredibly fun read, had some great banter back and forth, had some in your dreams kind of romance that every girl fantasizes about, and included some really great drink recipes. I’m not a drinker and these drinks made me want to go stock up on some alcohol and try some of these. I think the only way you can have any of these things I’ve mentioned previously is having some great detail that really makes the words drip from the page onto a painting right before your eyes.
If you haven’t one-clicked this book yet, what are you waiting for? Trust me, it’s a great story. It was an emotionally fun tantalizing story.

Kate Deveaux has hit it out of the park with this one. I’d use a drink-related metaphor here, but I can’t think of one. Deveaux, though, doesn’t suffer from the same problem. She skillfully weaves drink recipes into the narrative, paralleling them with the budding relationship between Lexi and Justin.
Lexi meets Justin when she stumbles into his bar, reeling from a run of bad luck. They have an instant connection, and things heat up pretty quickly. Insta-love is a tough sell much of the time, but Deveaux’s skill as a storyteller means she delivers a worthwhile love story. By turns scorching and touching, Bottoms Up delivers pure bliss. Highly recommended.
I was pleasantly surprised at this one. having not read anything by this author before, I had no idea what to expect.
this isn't the type of book that's going to send you on a rollercoaster of emotions. nor does it have a tonne of depth or suspense. HOWEVER... its a super cute insta love story that for sure will keep you entertained in all the good ways.
Justin is just the perfect lead. He is the perfect balance between alpha badboy and sweet sex god.
Lexi was also a great lead. Having took a knock to her confidence with a ruff year and a crazy ex, going into bottoms up was exactly what she needed.
together their chemistry was off the charts. the story was pretty seemless and the sexual tension/build up had me feeling super swoony. their relationship was a good mix of sweet and sassy with none of the unessecery angst and bitching that normally follows. There isn't much in the way of side characters in this book other that the odd quick interaction but if I'm honest the story didn't need it either.
Its a good short read that will definitely keep you entertained.
What A Story! From down on every level in life to riding high! After losing the love of her life and then going into a horrible relationship, losing her job and having to give up the apartment she and said love shared.... Yep, time to do something Lexi doesn't usually do, grab a drink at a bar in the middle is the day. She wasn't expecting the sexy bartender to stir things in her she hasn't felt since Scott... Nor was she expecting his sexually named drinks that stirred her even more. Justin sees Lexi walk in and is attracted to her instantly, he can see she's hurting and wants to fix it. For now he makes her a few special cocktails that make her smile. Then she runs from him and he doesn't have any way to contact her. That is until she shows up the following night and helps him out of a jam. Can Justin convince her to stay? Will Lexi let go of the past in order to live in the now? You'll have to read BOTTOMS UP to find out. This book has some pretty good bartender secret drink recipes that are tried out with some pretty sexual names, but what comes out in the end is spectacular. I enjoyed reading this
I wasn't quite sure what to expect with this story, as it's my first time reading Kate Deveaux, but what I read was amazing! I'm just going to give a brief rundown, Lexi is having a hard time in life when she walks into Bottoms Up. The hot bartender catches her eye, and she quickly realizes that learning about Justin's (hot bartender) naughty drinks is much better than wallowing in misery by herself. Now here comes my feelings, which will keep me from spoiling anything. I wish the story was longer, as I could have read about Lexi and Justin all day long. First of all, their freakin palpable chemistry is off the charts intense, leading to a FIERY BALL OF FLAMES rolling into serious sexy scene goodness that will leave no pair of panties standing in it's wake. Well placed humor really had me laughing hard quite a bit, and the sweetness of Justin made my warm and gooey places happy. This author's talented writing style drew me in from the get go, and I didn't want to put it down, even long after I finished. I really want more of Justin and Lexi, but for now, I'll HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND what I've already read of this super sexy couple!
It's full of super sexy moments, but is not without some serious heart. Our heroine, Lexi, is having some really tough times. She's lost the love of her life and just gotten out of a relationship with a very abusive man, and to top things off has lost her job. When she stumbles out of the hot Arizona heat into Bottoms Up Bar and meets sexy bartender Justin, all bets are off. This girl needs some Sexual Healing, like- pronto- and thankfully he has just the thing. (A drink....get your mind out of the gutter!)
But not too far out of the gutter, because in addition to the wild cocktail concoctions with seriously sexy names comes some seriously sexy behind the bar action. I loved Justin and Lexi together! They have off-the-charts chemistry, and the way he gives her a chance to remake her life and just falls for her little by little warmed my heart. These two are dynamite in bed, but there's a sweetness to their relationship that is intriguing and lovely.
If you're looking for a quick escape into a super sexy read- look no further. Bottoms Up is hot, hot, hot- but also emotionally fulfilling. You'll adore this book.
Ever go to a bar in the middle of the day to drown your sorrows? Well that 's what Lexi does when she loses her job & her apartment in the same day not to mention she grieving the loss of one love and recovering from the abuse of another. Justin the barkeep just might be the answer to all her problems.
Justin is a dream come true. He helps Lexi thru this difficult time with humor, support, crazy new drinks and hot sex. Who could ask for more? The things this man can do with a cherry. A delightful read from beginning to end.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book provided by the publisher and NetGalley.
Lexie's day just went from bad to worse with the loss of her job and a closing of the door to her past with her dead boyfriend when she finds herself at the bar Bottoms Up. She's feeling weighed down with loss, bad decisions, and an ex she's fearful of and is just looking for an hour or two of escapism. What she gets is the undivided attention of the sexy and flirty bartender which is too tempting not to experience again the next night which leads to insta-love and numerous erotically-charged encounters revolving around sensually-named alcoholic drinks and recipes. Lexie's clearly down on her luck at the start of the story but quickly perks up as she interacts with Justin. She's a bit timid out of fear instilled by her ex, and still mourning the former love of her life, which has her doubting her sudden intense feelings and looking for something to go wrong. While enjoying her erotic interactions with the protective Justin she's got concerns regarding her abusive ex Deakin as he tries to make her pay out of anger and jealousy which adds a bit of suspense to the endless eroticism.
Justin's a super sexy bar owner who's immediately drawn to the weary and timid Lexie and wraps her up in a protective bubble the moment he sees her by offering her a job, a home, and a steamy relationship with him. He uses humor, charm, and lots of erotically-charged innuendos to win her over and give her a sense of sexual freedom. He's a truly good guy, very protective when it comes to Deakin's threats, and is wholeheartedly supportive of her as she makes a brand new start. We see a heartwarming side to him too in his dealings with his elderly uncle along with a dominant Alpha side when in the bedroom and all these characteristics make him every romance reader's fantasy.
Overall this is an entertaining read with a carefree feel as there's numerous erotic encounters and sexually-charged banter that drives the narrative. Recipes for alcoholic drinks with erotic names are included which is a unique and memorable addition and adds to the sensual haze of the story. Lexie and Justin's time together is the focus of the story, with only a bit of time spent with other characters, which makes the suspense over Deakin's stalking feel a bit like an add-on. It was built up to be something way more than it was which was ultimately disappointing as it was wrapped up in the blink of an eye. This was ultimately a quick read with style but not an over abundance of substance as it was an erotic smorgasbord of steamy encounters that had me blushing and made for a fun ride that wrapped up with a HFN bow.
I received an ARC copy of this book in return for an honest review
Some erotic romances don't have much of a story and simply focus on the hot and steamy scenes and that to great details. While this book still contains plenty of the hot and steamy (don't read this book if you are looking for something clean, and wholesome), it actually contained a coherent and endearing story line, unlike other books I have read lately (better than 50 Shades Of Grey, that is for sure). The connection between the main characters was believable and not rushed. Now, this is not a long book, but it did not feel like the Author left out half of the story, in order to get faster through the plot. Overall, I enjoyed this book.
Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
This book has a lot of promise, but I don't know, I just couldn't get into it. I liked the premise of a bartender who knows just how to make her feel better, but I kept getting insta-lovey vibes. I liked that Deveaux gave us drink receipts too. But, that scene at the end with the cherry juice? I really just wanted them both to take a shower. It grossed me out, and judging from the scene, that was not it's intended purpose.
Woman in Tucson who just got fired and has a stalker walks into a bar; what happens then isn’t a joke, unless you count all the drink puns. Lexi is a little flighty and neurotic, but oddly enough that makes her more endearing. The further the story goes the more adventurous she gets, especially with locations involving the word pool. Oddly enough, the first sex scene isn’t written with nearly the same style as the rest; almost stilted, choppy. Luckily after that it gets better. There’s a few fun side characters, like her best friend who’s engaged to a Brit; of course they walk in on the new couple at the worst time. Unfortunately the villain is so one-dimensional it hardly seemed worth including him. And of course there has to be a girl from Justin’s past to pop up and make a misunderstanding. Cute, but no big deal. At least it’s somewhat funny, especially the drink names. The hot sex scenes are the highlight. 3.5 pushed up to 4/5
This was a really fun book, but I have MAJOR issues with how the main character handles an abusive relationship.
*spoiler alert*!
Our heroine got out of a bad relationship. Left a dude who almost hit her, which, A+ HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP BREAKING POINT!
But. Um. She doesn't call the cops when he mysteriously shows up wherever she is?
Including that time when he breaks into her house and breaks stuff?
Oh, and that other time that he kisses her against her will?
I'm sorry, but a hot boyfriend with a magical cock does a lot of things, but it does not chase away a violent ex-boyfriend.
This really killed my enjoyment of the book. A dude who hits his girlfriend and then breaks into her house needs a restraining order and charges pressed, not forgiveness.

Great read! Fast paced and very steamy. I loved the characters as well as the story, poor Lexi has been through a lot and Justin is exactly what she needs.
This is a very fun book! I loved all the drink names.
When Lexi walks into a bar down on her luck and doesn't know what to do next she sits at the bar. The bartender comes over and asks what she wants to drink. She let him pick. He knows how to pick the perfect drink. When she asks what it is called she can't believe it. Justin takes one look at Lexi and what to pick up her spirts as he sees lots of pain in her eyes. When Lexi comes back to see Justin they realize the heat between them and explore each other for a night. However it is not enough. Justin is going to teach Lexi about all his naught drink recipes and more.
Lexi’s ex was Deakin and he had been a rebound lover Deakin had physically abused Lexi. Scott was the one Lexi really longed for but he was dead. The bartender stirred something inside of Lexi that had thought she had forgotten- desire. Lexi thought one drink before she cleaned out the apartment and turn in the keys.Justin could see Lexi was hurting when she walks in the bar and he wanted to fix it. Lexi had been laid off this morning so she also had to get another job. - another thing to add to the growing to do list. It had been just over a year since Scott had died. The bartender’s name was Justin. Lexi returns to the bar and finds there is an opening for a waitress . I loved this story, I thought it was so sweet and definitely hot. It was a short read with a great plot. Although I do wish it was longer. I didn’t want to put this down and it made me laugh which is great. It is an instalove/lust romance and I usually don’t like them that well but it worked in this case. I just loved Lexi and Justin together. I also love the fact there was actually drink recipes in the book. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story and I highly recommend.
