Attributes of the Righteous Wife

Rate this book
The author says, "The topic of this book, "The Attributes of the Righteous Wife", isn't just for the young woman looking forward to marriage and wants to know about the attributes of a good wife in order to adorn herself with those attributes and prepare herself to implement and perfect them. Nor is it merely addressed to the married woman who has already chosen these righteous attributes and wishes to persevere and continue to practice them. Nor is it only for the married woman who fails to fulfill these attributes and falls short in them in order for her to fix herself and rectify her marital life. Rather it is an address and a reminder much more general than all of this. It is a reminder for the father who wants his daughters as well as any other women under his guardianship to have a good upbringing, an honorable life and an entrance into marital life according to what Allaah and His Messenger have intended. This treatise will hopefully aid him in reminding these young women of the legislative guidelines and necessary characteristics that the young Muslim woman must be cultivated upon and look after. This treatise is also a reminder for the mother who is the shepherd of her home, the one responsible for her daughters as their instructor, for surely most women grow up practicing that which they saw and heard their mothers doing. It is also a reminder for the callers to Allaah to look after this affair, to place importance on this matter and to strive very hard in spreading these virtuous attributes, commendable characteristics and blessed traits...."

I took so many lessons away from this book and one is that this religion is just and fair to men and women.

If women are required to stay at home and men are obligated to fend for them, there is a divine reason for this.

And of course it is lawful for a women to work and earn boundaries within the limits of the shariah. And there is no harm in that.

But she is not obligated to do that. I have so many gems to share. I probably will later in shaa Allah.

I always love religious books that are properly referenced with Verses from the Qur’an and Hadith of the prophet. And this one was.

May Allah bless the author and preserve him upon goodness. Aameen

If you are unsure about the etiquette of being a righteous wife in Islam then this book is for you.
It not only provides evidence from the Hadith but it also gives context.
Its a quick and easy read taking me less than a date to complete.
May we all strive to be righteous wives. Aameen.

very easy to read. good text size and choice of font was appealing visually. this book is beneficial for us muslim woman to learn from in regards to the basic attributes. it is not heavily detailed which makes it a good, light but highly beneficial read.

I recommend this book for general attributes of a righteous wife. What I didn't like was there were only a few points that had Quran verses. A majority of the points mentioned had Hadiths attached. Also some of language within the book I wasn't particularly a fan of, I do find it problematic but that is a matter of personal opinion.

A conservative Islamic view and advice towards women. Very tradwife. I do wish there were references for the quotes used.
