சேலம் வட்டாரத்தில் உள்ள சித்தர்பட்டி எனும் மலைக்கிராமத்தில் உள்ளது. சித்தேஸ்வரர் ஆலயம். அக்கோயிலுக்கென்று சில ஆசாரங்கள் உண்டு. அதனை மீறுபவர்களுக்கு மரணம் சம்பவிக்கும் என்பது ஐதீகம். அங்குள்ள சுனைநீரால் தீராத நோய்களும் குணமாகி வந்தன, வைரவன் செட்டியரால் கோயில் மகத்துவம் வெளி உலகத்திற்கு தெரியவர, அவ்வூரிலும் அக்கோயிலிலும் பல மர்மங்கள் நடைபெறத் தொடங்கின. அம்மர்மங்களுக்குக் காரணம் சித்தர்களாக இருக்கும், இறைவனின் சக்தியாக இருக்கும் என ஒரு பக்கம் கருத்து நிலவ, மறுபக்கம் அது மனிதர்களுடைய வேலையாக இருக்கும் என்ற மனநிலையோடு பலர் அம்மர்மங்களை விடுவிக்கும் முயற்சியில் ஈடுபடுகின்றனர்.

Indra Sounder Rajan sure knows to write books on the margins of belief and disbelief. This book has long been in my TBR - a series based on the book that I never watched due to hype and a strong recommendation from a fan. It does not disappoint.

Siddharpatti village at the foothills of Salem is centered around it's temple Siddeswarar temple. The temple carries it's share of faiths and superstitions - a scary one about if someone stays in the temple after dusk, the Kala bhairavar (protector) will kill that person. Sure enough there are two deaths to make the village comply. The temple has a mute siddhar who specialises in curing all illness with the temple water.

Shrouded in mystery the atheist son of the temple priest vows to find the truth. When a mad psychiatrist reaches the village and is taken into the care of the oomai-saami, his son Prasad comes in search of him. The two men join forces to investigate the happenings. Most of the mystery gets solved by snooping around and the secrets are found deserving of all the human scheming.

In the end the book keeps you thrilled with the villain revealed by literally the last word in the book. I found the romance portions distracting though the alchemy described in the book (turning metals to gold) was interesting. I am surprised there are not so many more books on Siddhas after so many temple culverts reveal their power.

This is the a book worth the hype.

💥 எப்படிப்பட்ட மன நல பிரச்சனைகளையும் சரி செய்து விடுகிறார் சித்தர்பட்டியில் உள்ள ஊமைச்சாமி. அந்த ஊருக்கு வந்த வைரவன் செட்டியார் மூலம் இந்த செய்தி பலருக்கு தெரிந்தது.

💥 ஒரு புறம் மக்கள் நம்பிக்கையுடன் வர, கோயிலில் நடக்கும் பல சடங்குகளையும் அதை தொடர்ந்து ஏற்பட்ட மரணங்களும் , பல கேள்விகளை எழுப்பின.


💥 கோயில் ரகசியங்களை தெரிந்துகொள்ள ஒரு கூட்டம் செய்த கொலைகள் அவை. இந்த புத்தகத்தை மையமாக வைத்து எடுக்கப்பட்ட தொடர் "ரகசியம்" . அதை பார்த்து விட்டு இந்த புத்தகத்தை படித்ததால் பெரிதாக ஈர்க்கவில்லை.

சித்தர்பட்டி என்னும் மலைக்கிராமத்தில் கதை தொடங்குகிறது. அங்கு சித்தேஸ்வரர் கோவிலில் நடக்கும் மர்ம முடிச்சிகளும் கொண்டவை இக்கதை. மாலை நேரங்களில் கோவிலுக்குள் நுழைந்தவர்கள் மரணத்தை தழுவுகின்றனர். அங்க அப்படி எல்லாம் நடக்க என காரணம். அதே கோவில் கிணற்றில் சுனைநீரால் தீராத நோய்களும் குணமாகி வந்தன. இதை கோவில் பட்டரின் மகனான மணிசுந்தரம் துப்பு துலக்க விழைகிறான். அவனுக்கு உதவியாக பிரசாத் உள்ளிட்ட ஒரு சிலர் துணை நிற்க. கோவிலின் மர்ம முடிச்சுகள் அவிழ்க்கப் படுகிறதா ? மணிசுந்தரம் எண்ணவணன் யார் அந்த கொலைகளை செய்கிறார்கள் என்பது தான் கதை.

ஒரு அருமையான நல்ல படைப்பு என்றே கூறலாம். இந்திரா சௌந்த்ராஜனின் மற்றொரு மர்ம நாவல். பல திருப்பங்களும் மர்மங்களும் கொண்டவை. வழக்கம் போல நம்மை புத்தகத்தை முடிவைக்க விடாமல் ஈர்கிறது. இந்த நாவல் பல வருடங்கள் முன்பே தொலைக்காட்சி தொடரில் ரகசியம் என்ற பெயரில் வெளிவந்து வெற்றியடைந்தது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

மிகவும் அருமையான நாவல். இந்திரா சௌந்தர் ராஜனின் கதைகள் அனைத்தும் ஒரு pattern இல் தான் இருக்கும். அது பிடித்தவர்கள் மட்டும் வாசிக்கவும். இது தான் உங்கள் இந்திரா சௌந்தர் ராஜனின் முதல் நாவல் என்றால் இது உங்களை நன்றாகவே கவரும். Twist ஆனது கடைசி பக்கத்தில் தான் reveal ஆகும் அது வரைக்கும் கதையை சுவாரசியம் குறையாமல் கொண்டு சென்றது எனக்கு மிகவும் பிடித்து இருந்தது. இக்கதை இந்திரா சௌந்தர் ராஜனின் மற்ற நாவல்களை போலவே அன்று இன்று கால கட்டங்கள் இருக்காது லீனியர் story. ஒவ்வரு மர்ம முடிச்சும் அவிழ்க்கப்படும் இடமானது ரொம்ப அழகாக இருக்கும். இந்திரா சௌந்தர் ராஜனின் master piece நாவல் என்றும் கூட சொல்லலாம் இக்கதையில் வரும் love story கூட கதையின் சுவாரசியத்தை எங்கும் குறைக்காது. இவரின் நாவல்கள் அனைத்திலும் oru மர்ம கோவில் அதனுள் பல மர்மங்கள் ஒரு சித்தர் ஒரு பூசாரி வீடு ஒரு love இது எல்லாம் இவரின் எல்லா நாவளிலும் இருக்க கூடியது இது பிடிக்காதவர்கள் கதையை வாசிக்க வேண்டாம். சிறிய கதை தான் தேவையில்லாத காட்சிகள் எங்கும் இருக்காது. இறுதி ட்விஸ்ட் kaagave இக்கதையை பல முறை வாசிக்கலாம் worth reading. அணைத்து வாசகர்களும் கண்டிப்பாக வாசிக்க வேண்டிய நாவல். Miss பண்ணிடாதீங்க.

இந்திரா சௌந்தர்ராஜனின் புத்தகங்களில் விறுவிறுப்புக்கு குறையிருக்காது, இந்த புத்தகமும் அப்படியே.. இந்த புத்தகத்தின் கதை டிவி சீரயலாக எடுக்கப்பட்டது என்று நினைக்கிறேன். சித்தர்பட்டி என்ற கொல்லிமலைக்கிராமும் அங்குள்ள சித்தேஸ்வர ஸ்வாமி கோயிலும் தான் கதைக்களம். அந்த கோயில் பல அற்புதங்களை உள்ளடக்கிய ஒரு பொக்கிஷம், மிகவும் விசித்திரமான வழக்கங்களையும் பூஜை முறைகளையும் கொண்டது. அந்த கோயிலிலுள்ள இறை மர்மங்களை தெரிந்து கொண்டு அதை தங்களின் சுயலாபத்துக்காக பயன்படுத்த ஒரு கும்பல் துடிக்கிறது. அந்த முயற்சி எப்படி முறியடிக்கப்படுகிறது என்பதை மிகவும் நேர்த்தியாக கூறியிருக்கிறார். இதில் ரசவாதம், நவபாஷாணம், சித்தர் பாடல்கள், மூலிகை வைத்தியம் என்று பல செய்திகள் கதையின் போக்கில் கூறப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. இந்த தகவல்களை கதையுடன் பின்னிப்பிணைத்த விதம் பாராட்டுக்குறியது. கோவிலில் நடக்கும் அட்டூழியங்களுக்கு காரணம் யார் என்ற மர்மமுடிச்சு கதையின் கடைசி வரியில் அவிழ்க்கப்படுவது அற்புதம்! பண்பாட்டு தகவல்களும் மர்மங்கள் நிறைந்த ஒரு அழகான படைப்பு இது!

Fantastic read!!
This book kept me at the edge of seat, especially towards the end. This book almost didn't feel like a thriller, but with every step we took the intensity grew and it became more and more interesting.
And i am beaming right now cause my hunch came true😅. A rare moment in my reading life.

There were parts of this book that prevented me from rating it 5 stars like the romance totally killing the vibe of this book and why didn't the culprit took action afterall he knew something was gonna happen that night. Other than that it was a amazing read. I want to research more about the author now. Thankfully, some thing is actually explained in this book. Thats it!!

One of the best thrillers I have read. I couldn't guess the antagonist till literally the last word (that's where the author reveals the name!) of the last episode when it was serialised in the Tamil weekly magazine Ananda Vikatan. In fact I have given up thinking that the author is going to conclude without revealing the name!

நான் படித்த முதல் “இந்திரா சௌந்தர்ராஜன்” புத்தகம் இது தான்.இது ஒரு மர்மக்கதை.வழக்கமாக அவர் நாவலில் கையாளப்படும் சித்தர்கள் பின்புலம் இதிலும் இருக்கிறது.இந்தக் கதை ஒரு தொலைக்காட்சி தொடராகவும் எடுக்கப்பட்டது. முதல் அத்தியாயம் முதல் இறுதி வரி வரை சுவாரஸ்யம்,அடுத்து என்ன என்ற எதிர்பார்ப்பு,எதிர்பார்க்காத திருப்பங்கள் என கதை விறுவிறுப்பாய் தொடங்கி முடிகிறது.

“சித்தர்பட்டி” என்னும் மலைகிராமத்தில் சித்தேஸ்வர கோவில் இருக்கிறது.அது ஒரு அற்புதம் நிறைந்த கோவில்! தீரா நோயை தீர்க்கும் சக்தி அந்த கோவிலில் உள்ளது.நிறைய விதிகள்,கட்டமைப்புகள் நிறைந்த ஒரு இடம்,மீறினால் மரணம். நிறைய மரணமும் அங்கு நடந்திருக்கிறது.மூடநம்பிக்கைக்கும் அறிவியலுக்கும் ஒரு போர்! கோவிலில் இருக்கும் உண்மையான மர்மம் என்ன என்பது தான் கதை!

So since most of the Tamil books don't contain a blurb, I will start with one. This book is based on a village சித்தர்பட்டி (fictive) and the mysteries with which it is treasured and suspected of. The novel is mostly about different people trying to unravel the mystery behind the temple in the village sprinkled with mild romance. What attracted me the most in book was the செய்திகள் in தமிழ் பாக்கள் conveying the messages very artistically, this is one of the beauties I have found in the author's works. Though I felt the book was bit off at some level, the climax part held a slight thrill. So as for my review, the book was okay, not bad.
