This collection of stories had a gamut from good (The Dead that Sow) to very good (Ilian) to indifferent (A Thing or Two About Love) to so bad you wondered how they earned publication (Mirror, Mirror on the Lam).

In the Service of Mages - what's a demoness to do when summoned to assist an arrogant wizard (very good)
Ilian - very good - how you treat others shows your character
Hell's Mark - a so-so story of teens/young wizards experiencing life
The Bane of Trigeminy - excellent story about recognizing your shortcomings
A Thing or Two About Love - dragons and wizards should be a great combination, but this falls into the predictable and indifferent category
The Dead that Sow - good story about a wizard who ravages a town and takes those he wants from the people, leaving them dead at the end, and how to resolve the issue
Frog Magic - cute but too often told story
How the Wild Hunt Came to Trygvadal - interesting Viking style story
The Yellow of the Flickering Past - cute but dumb story of a murderer and how he copes with the aftereffects
Soul Catcher - a really good story about growing up and learning to see past the obvious
Wizard's Choice - excellent story about young wizards and their familiars and how even the teacher can be taught
Mastery - eye roller with good action but an obvious conclusion with just a tad of intrigue at the end
Bird Bones - really good story about a woman who gets more than she bargained for when she demands the ability to fly
Willy Wizard's Magicland - I love this one about the revenge on pedophiles
Visible Breath - kind of creepy, but a love story dealing with loss and loneliness that tells a sweet story
Familiar Territory - excellent story about a familiar and the wizard he owns
Spellchucker - Not really sure where this one falls, as it is well written but not great
Proving Ground- very good story about wizardry used for evil purposes by a power mad ruler
The Wizard of the Birds - bleh - too much commentary and modern day references to fit properly in a story of a flock of wizards
Mirror, Mirror on the Lam - interesting tale of what happens when you steal from a wizard
Of Tides and Time - decent but predictable
