Lily Stuart grew up in a small town in Kansas. She modeled, was a waitress, and then after being in a music video she caught the attention of rock star Zander Freedman. She became his blonde bombshell arm candy, and went by the name Stormy Hagen. Her looks were her golden ticket, and what everyone noticed. She fell in love, had her heart broken, and grew tired of being someone & something she wasn't. She decided to take control of her life, and make changes. She drastically alters her appearance, and quits dating rock stars. Her head is finally straight, and her life is on track. She leads a normal life where her outsides match her insides. She's working on her online degree in childhood education, and has been a nanny in England for the past year. She wants a career working with children, and to settle down with a man that's a safe bet that can give her commitment and monogamy. Moss McFadden lives in LA, and is part of a new band called T-Minus 6. He went from lead guitarist to lead singer, and is now the anchor of the band. They are in the process of releasing their album next month that could make or break their music career. He found fame two years ago when Zander used a reality show to revamp his band. That didn't work out, so Moss feels this is his last chance to get it right. He has to make it work, because he doesn't have another life to fall back on. At times he felt like he belonged, but still always worried that at any moment his new life would be taken away. Growing up as an orphan & runaway, he's always been an outsider and a loner. Now he's a rising rock star whose dreams are about to come true.
Moss is shocked to learn their new house guest is Stormy aka Lily. He remembers her as any rock stars dream girl/ trophy girlfriend, and he always kind of had a crush on her.He was still extremely attracted to her, but had no intention of doing anything about it. He indulged often in casual hook-ups and had a reputation for being a player. He didn't think he was good enough for her anyways.
Lily hasn't been with anyone in a while, and can't ignore how stunning Moss is to look at. The man is brutally handsome, and looks every inch the rock star. She's sworn off rock stars, and knows she needs to avoid him and keep her hands to herself. Plus she assumes she's not even his type anyway. WRONG! Then circumstances put them spending more time together. When things continue to fall apart, they lean on one another and grow closer. She's always gone for the bad boy, and just wants a regular guy. She tries to resist her feelings, but can't help falling for Moss. He shows her a tender, vulnerable side, and is the only person who really see's her and doesn't treat her like she's breakable. They realize they have more in common than they knew, and a real emotional connection develops. Will they risk it all for love, or will their past baggage & current lifestyle get in the way?

I really loved this book & have enjoyed this whole series! Moss was your typical sexy rock star, but there was so much more to him below the surface. He's super swoony and I fell hard for this bad boy with a soft side. This story ended up being full of emotion, and had so many things that I didn't see coming. Just adored Moss and his rock star family!

Solid end to the Rock Solid series. Karina Bliss continues to impress me with her writing, in-depth realistic plots featuring flawed but likable characters. This story, the 4th in the series, is no exception.
Lily and Moss - two individuals with far from ideal childhoods subsequently made the wrong choices in life. They are both on a journey to correct their course, to heal from past hurts and to rediscover themselves, independently and together.
Kudos to the author for turning what could be a story full of angst and melodrama into a beautifully told story of survival, of second chances in life, of taking responsibility for one’s actions and rediscovering of what is truly important in one’s life.

Another winner from Karina Bliss!
We're on book #4 of the Rock Solid series and I just know this author won't disappoint me. This series is my favorite series about rock stars, with realistic characters and stories, and Bliss's writing is simply amazing.
Moss and Lily are characters whom we've met in previous books, but of course here we see them in a new light, we learn their histories, we witness them slowly fall for each other. (No instalove, thank you!)
What I particularly loved was author's treatment of Lily's character, formerly known as Stormy - pretty, vain, blonde, a trophy girlfriend. She made a sex tape, and of course media scandal was inevitable. It made me think how judgemental we all are. Who are we to judge someone based on their looks? Just because someone looks a certain way, has had breast implants, plastic surgery - those things do not define them, those things do not tell you anything about that person's life, their personality, you don't know them. Especially today, with the every-present social media, it's so easy to lose touch with reality, to offer you opinion, and the author did an amazing job.
We met Stormy in previous books, but here we meet the person behind the facade.
That's actually one of the reasons I love Karina Bliss, she perhaps writes the most feminist positive female characters, if that makes any sense. But I just love her female characters, everything about them is done right.
Thats is why I highly recommend you check out this series:

It is a very good book. The characters feel like real people going through their insecurities. In fact, the first half is great.
Then Ms. Karina used my least favorite trope (-1 star for that) and Moss goes from being afraid of relationships to saying all the right things. I was still interested enough to read it in two days though.
As an aside, I decided that from now on, I would automatically take one star off at the mention of vibrators.

Bliss's romance is original, moving, tender, and unput-downable. I loved every second of it. Her bad-boy, broken rock-god hero, Moss, and former-arm-candy, now turned nanny and early childhood educator heroine, Lily, are fully realized, sympathetic beings. Their dilemmas test their moral mettle, crack open their vulnerabilities and yet, Bliss's story is about gaining emotional strength, believing in good, hope, and love, and enacting them. RESURRECTION is the fourth (and final?) book in Karina Bliss's rockstar romance series, and by now, I know I’m in for a treat. Because this series isn’t your run-of-the-mill rockstar romance – yes, there is certainly music and celebrity, but friendships form the core of these books, and that lends depth to the stories.
The core of this book is about Lily and Moss healing from past hurts and rediscovering themselves, both independently and together. And if that sounds a bit heavy, that’s on me – Bliss handles it with ease and humour. Her trademark snappy banter is present and accounted for, previous characters are given just the right amount of page time, and seriously, female friendships for the win here. I appreciated that there was no slut-shaming, especially with #metoo stories fresh in my mind. Rockstar romances can veer towards the wrong side of the line at times, so kudos for how Moss and his past was portrayed.
There’s also a lovely rhythm to Bliss’s prose, making it easy for me to sink into the story. Here’s a passage from early on in the book, when Moss is faced with a technical issue onstage during their first performance:
However, I have to say, melodrama much? On top of the sex tape leaks referred to in the blurb, there’s another later twist. I’m not going to give it away, but I was left impressed at how Bliss wrapped up the story within the available page count. Also, no spoilers, so I’m going to stay vague (sorry!), but I was left wondering if a different decision could have been made in the end. Bliss certainly has the skills to sell a less traditional resolution, and perhaps that would have felt more fresh.
All in all though, a really solid romance, and definitely a series I’d recommend.

I don't do angst. I tend to like "nice" heroes and nice heroines. When I received this ARC from the author (THANK YOU!) and started reading I wasn't convinced it was going to be for me. In this fourth installment of the author's Rock Solid series, we have another member of the band -- Moss -- featured as hero. And the heroine? Lily -- known originally as Stormy Hagen -- who in book one featured as one of the many dumped lovers of Zander, then lead singer of the original rock group Rage.
Lily's completely turned her life around from the lows of the first book. She got her GED, is studying pre-childhood education, has changed her looks (implants removed), and has been a nanny. However, all of that changes when a stolen sex tape comes to light and Lily goes into hiding with her best friend (who lives in the same house as Moss).
Sound complicated? Well I'm not convinced this book will have as much meaning for someone who hasn't read -- devoured -- the three previous books in the series. The two other band members and their significant others play a huge role in this book. I loved seeing them again, but it might not work for those who haven't read the first three. (Although Elizabeth and Zander from book one never make an appearance, they are mentioned at numerous points as an influence on the others.)
Both Lily and Moss had difficult childhoods (I mean really difficult). Much of what they are as adults is a result of that, and they're both still struggling. I was surprised but I liked Lily a great deal right from the start. Moss took me a bit longer to warm to. While it's clear he's hiding a lot from everyone else about his past and current activities, he also has sex (off page) with numerous pickups in the early chapters. Did I like that behavior? No, I didn't. But was it realistic given his past and current situation? Absolutely.
Slowly, slowly we learn more about Moss, and some of it is just heartbreaking. At the end I shed some happy tears as I read the epilogue. Cheesy? Perhaps. But satisfying? Oh very much!
And now I'm terrified that there might not be another entry in the Rock Solid series, as we've gone through all the band members!

Resurrection is the fourth installment in Karina Bliss’ Rock Solid series. This charming tale works well as a stand-alone novel, but the experience is definitely enriched by having read the previous books in the saga.
She used to be known as Stormy Hagen, model and professional girlfriend to rock stars. Now she’s Lily Stuart, nanny and early childhood education student. She’s left her double Ds (surgically removed) and smexy boy toys behind her, although unfortunately, they aren’t quite through with her. Her final fling with a b-list rocker was recorded and since the loser had left it on his phone – which has since been stolen – the video is now all over the internet. Knowing she has only hours before the paparazzi make the family she works for regret ever knowing her, Lily quits her job and calls gal pal Dimity. Dimity offers refuge in the oversized home she rented for the band she manages, T-Minus 6. Lily has no desire to re-enter the world of rock and roll – but she also has no choice. She literally has nowhere else to go.
Moving into the T-Minus 6 house essentially means moving in with guitarist Moss McFadden. The other two members of the band are with their wives/significant others, but the lease hasn’t been changed to reflect the new living situation. Moss is happy to have Lily stay – the place has plenty of room – but she feels guilty taking charity from a casual acquaintance. He has a solution for that. He lost his driver’s license. Not the way that most rock stars do – to an excess of drugs or booze – but simply by forgetting to renew it and then being in a fender bender after it had expired. He’s unable to use his kick ass sports car and has been dependent on rides from friends ever since. He feels like a toddler and the situation has been seriously cramping his style. He figures hiring Lily to work as his driver is the perfect way for her to keep her dignity and really help him out at the same time. It turns out to be a dangerous decision, though, because he’d had a crush on Lily back when she was Stormy, and this new, improved version tempts him far more than that overly polished version ever did. Stormy would have settled for sex and being seen in all the right places with him, but Lily? She’s honest, open, sees through his bullshit and understands the past that made him the guarded individual he is today. Second best book in the series - Rise is still the best.
This book had really good emotional depth and characterisations. And the writing is the high quality I expect from this author. Those two things really separate the rockstars from the poseurs in this sub genre.
I love that the heroine is a former trophy girlfriend. So many books ignore or vilify "the groupie" but this one explores her motivations and how she evolves as a person without condemning or slut shaming her.
I wasn't sure about the hero - in previous books he only served the manwhore role. We got more depth and to the root of his Secret Pain. He definitely fits the "I'm not good enough to be loved trope". LOL at him being the spokesperson for a cologne called "Brood".

This book had really good emotional depth and characterisations. And the writing is the high quality I expect from this author. Those two things really separate the rockstars from the poseurs in this sub genre.
I love that the heroine is a former trophy girlfriend. So many books ignore or vilify "the groupie" but this one explores her motivations and how she evolves as a person without condemning or slut shaming her.
I wasn't sure about the hero - in previous books he only served the manwhore role. We got more depth and to the root of his Secret Pain. He definitely fits the "I'm not good enough to be loved trope". LOL at him being the spokesperson for a cologne called "Brood".

This is the fourth book in the Rock Solid series, but can be read as a stand alone. I would recommend reading all the books in order, though, to get a better sense of where the hero and heroine are coming from.
Lily used to be known as Stormy, Barbie doll trophy to rock stars. Now she's a nanny and trying to get her degree in early childhood development. When her last rock-boy-toy calls her to tell her that a video they made (which she doesn't even remember participating in) has been stolen from his phone and posted on the internet, her carefully crafted second chance comes crashing down.
Lily turns for help to her friend who offers her shelter in the house the rock group she manages is renting. Only Moss is still living there full time, though, since all the other band members spend most of their time with their significant others. Re-entering the world Lily thought she'd left behind is the only shelter left to her.
This story explores the idea of second chances and living with the consequences of one's actions. Both Lily and Moss have had hard pasts that made them turn down bad roads that lead to horrible situations. They are both trying to correct their course and get a better life for themselves. Life keeps hitting them with unexpected blows, though. It also explores the hypocritical way in which society regards the voyeuristic thrill of peering into people's private moments: great stud! bad whore!
I really enjoyed this series and am sad to see it end. The author does a good job of exploring why the characters have acted the way they have and in making me want for them a better future. I sure hope she will revisit this series sometime and give us an update. All of them deserve a HEA.

Sure was interesting... I really loved Lily. She surely deserved a break. The struggles seemed real. Our society can suck sometimes when tabloids send photographers out for juicy photos at any cost. ugh. or pay for stolen sex tapes. Ugh.

Another solid offering from Karina Bliss in the Rock Solid series. From the first book, Moss McFadden was a curious, aloof character. He had scowling down pat, and was a pro at keeping everyone at a distant. With the creation of a new band, and him being the lead singer, Moss is finding his place in this new world. His old world still haunts him and he struggles throughout the book to reconcile the two, while accepting help from his friends. Lily Stuart has reinvented herself. She was known as Stormy Hagen in the first book in the series, and the breakup with the Zander showed her that she was on a path of self-destruction. Unfortunately, that path and the bad choices she made, comes back to bite her in the ass when an illicit sex tape goes viral. She finds solace and a place to hide with her best friend, and the newly formed rock band.
Moss and Lily are weary of each other in the beginning and make presumptions about the other. When Moss extends help by employing Lily as his driver they get to know each other on a different level. They truly were opposite in every way, with Lily being the light to Moss's dark. Their attraction is undeniable but they do a pretty good job of resisting it. Lily, with her positive outlook and resolute belief in love, shows Moss there's another side to accepting help and showing human emotions.
It was a great ending to a wonderful series and I enjoyed how both Lily and Moss got a second chance at everything.

Karina Bliss just keeps getting better and better. This one will break your heart, keep you hooked right to the last page, and linger in your memory forever. Definitely one for the keeper shelf.

If you love rock romances like I do you need to check this book out. I thought it was one of those books that pulled you in from the start and wouldn’t let you put it down. It’s a story of survival, surprises, love, chemistry and devotion. Moss and Lily/Stormy both had upbringings that would break your heart and yet Lily had changed her life around trying to be better for herself and showed Moss that in the process it was something that was possible for him as well. I loved the secret cause that Moss was fighting for and the actual heart this bad boy rock star had. His life was going to chance in a big way; both professionally and personally. Bad boy rock stars was the last thing Lily/Stormy wanted in her life again. As Stormy she had lived the life as a model that had a spot in a rock video and fell for the woman chasing rock star. Was Moss any different than his mentor had been when he and Stormy crossed paths two years ago?
This is my first time reading this author and from here on out I will be checking out her other books because she brought a writing style that had you feeling what her characters were feeling at any given moment. I would definitely recommend this book to any rock romance fans.

this was the best yet... how Lily and Moss overcame their childhoods and a surprise child being thrown in.... I hope there are more books to see how T-Minus 6 rules the rock world

I loved this book. I don’t like spoiled rock stars or guys who sleep around and I’m not a huge fan of women who get high and make sex tapes. But I rapidly fell for both Lily and Moss. And the book feels very intimate—it’s about day to day life no big scenes of rock concerts.
It’s also got some nice additional stuff about Dimity and Seth.

I received the ARC of Resurrection in exchange for an honest review. I have read several books by this author, and some have been through Hidden Gems for reviews. I am very glad they introduced me to her as I have enjoyed her writing and interesting characters. I don’t know if that is because she is a Kiwi, but I really feel like she has a different perspective than other authors I have read in similar genres.
This is the story of Moss and Lily, who we formerly met in prior books as Stormy. Lily has completely changed her life from the rock star girlfriend that she was in earlier books, but unfortunately her sorted past has come back to haunt her. To help her out, she is given a place to hideout and a job driving Moss around as the band is being once again reinvented. Their relationship grows with both their former acquaintance through the band, Rage and that they both have had very difficult childhoods.
I don’t want to give too much away, because I really enjoyed the “surprise” that happens about halfway through the story and really adds to the characters and relationship development. I had only read the first book in the series which definitely helped me understand the characters a bit more, and wish I had read the others. It was a really good story with interesting characters that drew me in and made me invested in their story and how it would end.

I almost skipped this book when signing up for the ARCs because of the premise. The idea that getting back into the world of a hanger-on to rock stars, as a way to ride out the storm of a scandal for someone who is a nanny and interested in early childhood development, is simply not a good idea. I thought the premise flawed. I can't remember what made me to ahead and sign up for it anyway. I'm glad I did. I started the book on my lunch break and when I got home from work, I couldn't put it down and stayed up a little late finishing it. It also took me longer than two hours to read so that was a great bonus. The author really worked the premise in a way that made a lot more sense than in the blurb provided for the story. The characters were interesting. Their backstories very interesting. There was nothing flat about the characters at all.

Lily was desperate to reinvent herself, but now must face the consequences of her past. Moss is determined that love doesn't exist and that he doesn't need anyone. Their pasts are similar, but they have many obstacles in the way. Will Moss ever open himself up to feeling? Will Lily finally find a family and a place to call home?
This book was definitely an emotional roller coaster. I have to admit I went back and forth between hating Moss and loving him. Just when I would think I was stuck on hating him, he showed a bit of humanity and spun it again. I loved how Lily was so caring despite her past. I didn't blame her for being unsure when it came down to it, but was happy she opened herself up again. Great read!

I love rockstar romances and this is one of the best that I have read recently. It was the story of Lily and Moss who both came from bad upbringings made some bad mistakes and had their lives ruined by others, resulting in both of them being broken and unable to trust.
The last thing Lily wanted was another rockstar in her life, the last thing that Moss wanted was to commit to anyone. When circumstances bring them together they help each other through the difficulties and despite their misgivings about relationships fall deeply in love. I felt sadness and pain for these two characters but then rejoiced in their triumphs and their happy ending.
After reading this awesome standalone, and meeting the other characters in the series, I have to go back and read their stories..

The romance between Lily/Moss could've easily been 5 stars. However, at the halfway point there's a plot twist that massively changes the plot of the book, and unfortunately, the romance takes a hit because of it. I've read entire books dedicated to just the second half of this one, I can't help but wish it was either omitted completely or was brought forward and made the entire book and advertised plot.

I was surprised by how much I ended up loving this story. The other books in the series were good, but this one, to me, blew them out of the water. Lily and Moss turned into two of my favorite characters after not thinking much about them in previous books. Both have these complex and heartbreaking pasts and we are finally shown that in this book. Their romance wasn't rushed, it had them building a friendship that over time had turned slowly to love when they realized how much they meant to one another. And there were lots of surprising twists in this story that made it even more interesting to read and very hard to put the book down! I did not see half of those coming but I loved the direction the story took and how it helped them move past the brutal pasts and heal. Really excellent story and definitely worth checking out!

I received this book as part of an ARC review. I liked how the characters were realistic. The reader is drawn into the struggles that Lily and Moss face and overcome. The story draws on your emotions as you read. Moss and Lily both had less than ideal childhoods but didn't let them get them down. Lily gets the family she dreamed of even if it is not in the setting she envisioned and shares a strong love with Moss. Moss has overcome his teenage trials and helps others that are in the same position as he was in.

Me gustó mucho más que el primer libro, desde la mitad un poco más se vuelve una re telenovela pero es super entretenido y me encantó la pareja principal. Sobre todo el hecho de que hablen sobre sus sentimientos y la vulnerabilidad del protagonista, además del mensaje de esperanza y amor. Una muy linda historia sobre nuevos comienzos, dos protagonistas sufridos que sacan lo mejor del otro, se acompañan, se inspiran, y sobre todo se respetan... después de tanto dolor encuentran un grupo de pertenencia, una familia.

I don’t want or like little kids. There’s no acknowledgement anywhere in this book that that’s ok. Instead it’s all babies in your face and your character growth means saying yay babies and meaning it.

I actually quite enjoyed this rocker romance and I usually don't. Lily finds herself hiding out with her friends after a sex tape scandal and struggles to find a man worthy of her time after all the times she's been used. Moss is battling inner demons as he balancing his different roles and his unexpected feelings (not just lust) for Lily. I really got a feel for Lily and Moss' characters and really felt invested in them. The secondary characters were just as vital and engaging to read about.

Es difícil sustentar una trama basada en un personaje introvertido, da mucho menos juego, y además la historia recurre a demasiados trucos para avanzar -la aparición de la hija secreta me ha matado- pero Moss y Lily me convencen como pareja. Ese es uno de los puntos fuertes de esta autora , encaja bien personajes que parece imposible ver juntos.

A really great read. This is the first book I’ve read in the series and I really liked it. Even thought I didn’t read the other books in the series, it wasn’t hard to follow. Now on to read the other books in the series.

Moss and Lily had childhoods that taught them not to trust or let anyone in. They both have a lot of work to learn to trust and to let people in. They embark on a roller coaster ride together where the curve balls keep coming. Can they make it out the other side intact?
