Riley Bloom was a loving girl who wasn't afraid to give her everything for the boy she loved. She was such a pure hearted soul until she was left hanging and played with by boys who she once truly loved. She wanted to move on and leave that part of her life where it belonged - in the past - but it wasn't easy.
After she experienced how harsh and painful love could be, she decided to never love again, to never believe in the magical feeling they called "love"
When she thought that she was happy being alone, a boy came crashing to her life.
Chaseten Kashe
It wouldn't be a problem if he only crashed to her life but that wasn't the case. The boy went straight for her heart.
For years, she convinced herself to never love again but the boy didn't seem to understand that. The more she pulled away from him, the more he stuck to her. What part of 'she had long given up on love' does he not understand?
That moment when she stared at his peridot eyes, she would have never thought that it was also the start of the hardest battle she'd fight in her life.
Would she give love another chance or she'd continue believing that the magical feeling had long been gone? *All books in the series could be read as a standalone with a HEA.
Right off the bat...who wrote this? An adult or child? There are so many run on sentences and grammatical errors to make my skin crawl! Its so hard to tell who the hell is talking as the dialogue has no quotation marks and keeps jumping from present to past and vice versa! First pages in and I was so fucking confused!
Needless to say and hard as I tried I could not go on reading this book as it is currently written. The mistakes are just outstanding and quite comical in their abundance! When I say there's some kind of writing, editing, grammatical error on each page, I am not exaggerating! To think I only read the first forty pages! Who proofread this book?! Who did the editing?! Whoever it was should get fired because this book was very poorly written! It makes no sense at all!!!
With all that being said, the characters left much to be desired. Riley, the main female lead is, well to put it mildly, a huge fucking bitch! The reasons she has for getting upset are so muddy, its not even funny. I swear you'd think this chick was bipolar or something with the way her moods shift back and forth. One minute she's near tears because she ACCIDENTALLY spilled a drink on her friend, the next minute she is chewing that same friends ass off because he made a playfully innocent comment at her! She's so good at making people feel guilty that she actually makes people apologize to HER over her own nasty ass attitude! This is a poor female lead.
Chase, hard to tell what his role really is in all this because he spends all his time chasing after Riley and basically being her bitch. It doesn't help that her BFF is always babying her and making excuses for her poor behavior and attitude. These are characters that readers will have a difficult time liking or relating to because there's nothing likable about any of them!
Please rewrite this story with better characters, story and plot....and for goodness sakes...PROOFREAD!
Chase for Love is by L. Marcelo. It takes place on a college campus in Ritzfield. It is a story of young love which at times can be blind. It is also the story of unconditional love. Chase Kaser is madly in love with Riley Bloom. However, she is a difficult girl to get to know and she can be outright mean at times. She rooms with Cammerz. They have known each other for years and Cammerz is one of the few people who has been able to put up with her and her moods for a long time. The three of them have a few classes together and spend a lot of time together studying. Chase spends a portion of that free time teasing Riley. What is really going on with Riley and with Chase and Riley? The book is difficult for me to read and keep interested in. I just couldn’t seem to get into the rhythm of the book. I kept having to force my way into reading it. Finally towards the end, it began making a little more sense.
Well it took me a few days to finish this one and that is kind of telling.
I struggled with this book. I didn’t connect with the characters, in fact our heroine, seemed to be rather immature and a bit of a pain in the ass. Our hero was not as appealing as he should have been. And I’m not sure the editing on this book was of the highest standard. All these issues bunched together made for not the best reading experience.
I would read something by the author in the future....but maybe give me a couple of weeks!!
I received a free Copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
I have to admit I was a bit underwhelmed by this book. I think I might have passed the stage where teenage angst and high drama is intriguing to me. The characters appeared very immature and the whole man hating spiel that Riley had going just wasn't cutting it.
What I do think is that the intended audience of YA readers might find it interesting.
Thank you to the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
This book just didn't work fof me, it was very childish and the characters were very inmature for their age. There's some things you can understand but unfortunately it was really annoying.
hmm... so this is on the low side of 3... i just.. i couldn't get into the characters like i normally would... it wasnt horrible though.. just not my thing ya know... im sure for others this would have been amazing.. and i hope that the series gets better. i am glad i got to review it
