I've read this all year, my pick me up book, reading a story or 2 every few days. No matter what is happening in my life, reading these stories always shows me life could be worse and to count my blessings.

The "Chicken Soup for the Soul" books have been around for a long time now. I used to read them religiously but stopped for some unexplained reason. When I saw this new edition, "Count Your Blessings", I knew that it was time to pick them up again.

The premise could not be simpler. As with all of the "Chicken Soup" books, these are 2 or 3 page stories to read when you get up in the morning, before bed, while you are waiting to pick up your kids from school, or one of the other millions of obligations you have. These stories simply make you feel good about the American spirit. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will certainly count your blessings.

I found these stories really put things in perspective when I would complain about traffic, that I spilled coffee on my shirt, or that the TV was on the brink. At least I have my family, my friends, a job, and my health. The story of "Nathalie's Lessons" put absolutely everything in my life in a light and made me incredibly thankful. This book is a gift. Read it, and then give it to someone you love.

MY RATING - 5

Once again I am impressed with the Chicken Soup stories. I had read one previous and that is when the flame was ignited. This book keeps that flame burning bright.
I am truly inspired by these particular stories, since our own economy is in hard times. I have been through lay offs in the past year, and can connect with the stories of "trying to make it through". Perfect time for a perfect read!
I recommend you, yes all of you, grab any installment of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, and get reading. You will be inspired too!

I like Chicken Soup books when I have nothing else to read or during a busy time in life where I might not be able to pick up a book enough times to follow a story line. My sister got two copies of this book for Christmas this year and I ended up with one. This one was a pleasent one, no sad storues to make you cry (unlike most chicken Soup book), plus reading it during a time of depression I found it really did lift my spirits.

The entire Chicken Soup series is such that when you need a bit of inspiration no matter who you are - a teenager, a dog lover, a traveler, single, a veteran, and dozens of others - there is likely a book for you amidst the extensive series and it will give you a number of short true stories that can provide perspective and distant support.

This one is basically dealing with hardship - divorce, death, disease - and finding a way to get through with love, endurance, faith and sometimes, sheer cussedness.

Like all the others, it's a pick-up, read a few and then put-down. Repeat as needed.

These are perfect books to read when you have just a brief amount of time for reading. You can dip in, read a story or two, put it down and pick it up at any time in the future and pick right up without losing anything.
I like to read them at night right before going to sleep; it leaves me with a positive feeling that's conductive to a restful night.
Chicken Soup has a whole series of books; some are quite funny and some quite serious, but they are all inspirational to me.

There are sooo many good stories in this book. It is truly very uplifting. My favorites are:
Don't Take Away My Coffee
Mango Mud Blessings
Lesson From Everest
Give Thanks
and
Drinking From Ola's Cup

You ABSOLUTELY MUST READ THIS BOOK!
The story by Susan Lugh: Give Thanks, is the most amazing and miraculous true story I have ever read. She is a miracle and I am sooo grateful that she told her story of survival. I hope to meet her someday.
Here is a quote from her story. page 333 Chapter 10 HAVING FAITH

"I had seen my skin melting off my arms and legs... The intense heat was literally melting me."
Can you imagine going through that? God was with her. I believe that Angels were too.
I lost a house in a fire once but no one was hurt and to this day I am grateful for that: EVEN MORE SO after reading about Susan's ordeal.

This book would make an awesome Birthday or Christmas gift. If you can, buy 2 copies; 1 to keep and another to give. I know that I'll be re-reading mine again and again.

What I truly love about the Lord is that when you least expect He speaks to us in such a profound manner, that it fills every space of our life's ... #HaLLeLuJaH, While I was studying each story in this book; because I don't believe in just reading a book, I tend to study every aspect of the authors writing, in the event that Jesus Christ wants to speak a word of wisdom into my life. And you know what, our Heavenly Father taught me a lesson on Gratitude that I'll carry with me for the rest of my life ...

That being said, sometimes we feel that what's going on in our life's is something out of this world; however when we honesty sit down and listen to what someone else is going through, we notice that what we're experiencing is just a walk in the park. That's why I recommend this book to anyone in need of a healthy lesson on recognizing the unexpected blessings that Christ can bring into your life. I love to read a book that speaks to the depth of my heart and life, and this book has done that and much more ... #AMustRead,

yekan, ngebut banget bacanya.

:)

I absolutely love the Chicken Soup books and Count Your Blessings was no exception. I felt like I needed something a little inspirations and this book sure did the trick! I have also been trying to physically read more books, so this helps with that also because of all the short stories, I can read one or two at a time when I have a free minute!

I love all the individual stories written by real people, talking about real problems and real life. Just like the title depicts, this book is full of stories of gratitude, fortitude and silver linings, and it just might help you see the positive side of things yourself in your own life!

Overall, you can't go wrong picking any of the Chicken Soup books (they've only been uber popular for HUNDREDS of editions) for a reason and this one is a great start!

Wonderful book. I am gonna buy the whole collection. Reading this book will revive your soul and give you hope. Full of real life stories. People who lost a loved one or lost their jobs had their life changed by simply "counting their blessings". Once a person changes his attitude and trust in God's ways, his whole life is changed and he receives unexpected blessing by simply not asking for more and thanking God for what he already has. Just like what Jesus did when he fed the multitude with five loaves of bread and two fishes. He simply blessed what he had and did not ask for more. The result was that the food was enough for everybody and the leftover was even more than what he originally had.

It's a collection of stories on how blessed they are, or to be precise, how they think they are. Although some of them were still suffering the moment they wrote those stories, mentally and physically, but they felt blessed and happy. It's the gratitude heart that cherish them regardless in what circumstances. I respect them, and it's the attitude I must learn all the time.

These stories are not dramatic, but as simple as taking a walk for air in time of doubts. But through a change of perspective, the contributors found encouragement and strength to fought forward.

Good read.
