****Don't miss this thrilling final book in the bestselling Wolves of Winter's Edge trilogy****
Asher Striker is full of dark secrets. His brothers think he’s quiet because he’s moody, but Asher had to learn at a young age that if he doesn’t focus on controlling the power within him, he could destroy everything and everyone around him. All he needs to do is help Gentry and Roman open up Winter’s Edge, and then go back to his solitary life. It would be safest for everyone that way. But when a mouthy, funny, beautiful woman shows up at his inn, Asher begins to rethink where his life should be headed. Ashlyn makes him want things he can’t have. She’s wrecking his focus, but little by little, she’s also breaking down his walls and easing the darkness within him. And now he has to decide whether her fixing him is a good thing, or something that will get them all killed.
Ashlyn Jenkins has a bone to pick with her best friend, Blaire. She’s on a mission to save her from the three obvious psychopaths she lives with now. Sure, the Striker brothers are hot, especially the oldest, Asher, but Ashlyn’s duty is to her friend, first and foremost. That is, until she realizes Blaire is very different from the way she used to be. Now, the more time Ashlyn spends with Asher, the more she wants to unravel the mysteries around him and the life Blaire has built for herself. And when she witnesses the darkness that dwells inside of the quiet, silver-eyed, growly giant, she thinks she might just be able to save him. But Fate has plans for her and Asher that will change the course of not only their lives, but also the town of Rangeley forever.

Asher is book three in the Wolves of Winter's Edge trilogy. The books should be read in order to maximize your reading experience.
You have to leave the best for last, and Joyce did just that. Asher is the oldest Striker brother and he's a beautifully flawed and haunted wolf. He's a dark, menacing figure among wolves and can make them bend to his every will. Ashlyn is Blaire's (from book 1) best friend. She arrives at the Cove to bring Blaire back, but much to her, and everyone else's surprise, the big bad scary wolf calls to her. Together, they look to save Asher from the dark inside him as the final secrets held in the town of Rangeley are revealed.
The finale of this trilogy did not disappoint. My only complaint is that it's over. I wish we were privy to a future epilogue or something. Perhaps we will get a spin off series at some point. If you haven't checked out my reviews for the first two books, I'd start there. I recommend this series to pnr fans and rate the final book a 5.
Rating Legend: 5 star-loved it 4 star-liked it 3 star-it was okay 2 star-didn't like it 1 star-hated it
I think I liked Asher the best out of the three. Sexy and hot. Holds back nothing.
Ashlyn is cool and takes no crap from anyone. I liked how the author brought her feelings out I think everyone has felt like her at one time or another. I think her character came off authentic and not that false oh I am alright and I understand crap. That isn't real life at all and Ashlyn is real!
*WARNING* story contains explicit adult content and crude language Ashlynn's character is the total opposite of Asher's character, again opposites attract. I really enjoyed the creative names that were thought up for these brothers to throw at each other and at others (sometimes). There was a jovial quality to the story despite the heavy emotion. I think the author did an excellent job balancing the heavy and light scenes. The story read smoothly. I had an extreme dislike for the father since reading Gentry's story in book one and I'm glad that while situation was fully explained. I've read all three of these books, but this one is my favorite.
Okay, so Asher and Ashlyn are my favorite couple in this series. They had the funniest banter and I think Asher is the sexiest brother by far. I love the pack the six of them formed together.
If you’ve been following the Wolves of Winter’s Edge series then you now know that the end is in sight with Asher’s story. The last story in a series or trilogy is always bittersweet. I fell in absolute deep love with Gentry, Roman and Asher. The depth of their characters, the way this trilogy has magically come alive has been one of the most enjoyable Shifter journeys I’ve been on yet… and that’s saying a lot.
I’m going to forgo my usual light recap of parts of the story type of review this time. Not because there isn’t a lot to talk about – but I am afraid I’ll say too much. This story explodes with action, magic, danger, love, friendship and so many questions answered… and a few twists that I probably should have seen coming, but I didn’t.
Ashlyn is exactly what Asher needs in his life, but never expected to find or pursue. There is so much that Ashlyn doesn’t know about her best friend, and her efforts to “rescue” her will, of course, go nowhere. You’ll feel different things for Ashlyn throughout the story – she is vastly changed from the innocent, determined girl who first arrived in Rangeley into a confident, powerful mate by the story’s end. We get a deeper understanding of Asher’s true powers that have only been hinted at up til now. As well as the terrible loneliness and burdens he’s had to carry for so many years. Ashlyn is changing him into something so much more than he ever dreamed possible.
Asher is a powerful, intriguing and even compelling conclusion to an amazing trilogy. I sincerely hope that we will once again return to Rangeley and meet up with the Wolves of Winter’s Edge again soon. There are still so many possibilities that I hope will find their way into more tales to enjoy.
I read this story through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Wow even the day after am still thinking about the book, the story and the characters. I read the other two book and mind you they were good, I loved them but Asher. The story blew me away. The story was so intriguing that I just kept reading and reading. There were times I laughed and then cried. Gentry, Roman and Asher a three brothers that have returned home, yet what awaits them is incredible. The pack that has taken over the town is to say the least bad very bad. Loved all the brothers but my favorite is Asher. He has so much power and tries hard to control it, but touching well that is not done, Enter Ashlyn who came rescue her best friend, who by now does not need rescuing. But Asher, his wolf and the rest are totally taken and intrigued by her, Asher knows he should leave her alone, but he can't stay away from her and keeps coming back for more of her. Things as alway come to a head, the Striker brothers their mates find themselves in a battle for their lives. A lot of things are revealed towards the end, things that will surprise you and astonish you and make the book that much better. T.S Joyce thank you for a fantastic and amazing adventure, I loved it and look forward to you next book.
I'm struggling to get through book 2 bc I'm not a fan of wussy heroines.
However I am ridiculously loyal to TS Joyce because she's an amazing author so I decided to move onto book 3 -- Asher.
Boy was this the motherload of story telling. I wasn't sure about the super natural element (introduced in book 1 - Gentry) In my opinion it got dicey with adding witchcraft for me when we're already dealing with shifters - what more magic do we need?
Anyway.... this book made it all worth it. Uhhhh Asher the anti heroine to die for and then Ashlyn's feisty personality I loved it.
These characters were flawed in the best way and it made this story so enjoyable. I'm excited TS is revisiting her former shifter romance series (Harpers, Blackwing etc) but this was good enough for me to ask for more in this world too.
Great job and I'm excited for whatever TS Joyce has planned for us because she's just that good!
I'm so glad that I found this author and the Wolves of Winter's Edge series! I devoured all three books in this series in a matter of days. The characters are engaging, emotionally layered, complex, human while being other and 100% memorable. Asher is the best of the worst, or the worst of the best depending on who you ask. He has an inner monster that puts him leagues above his brothers in terms of power. In the right hands though, that monster turns into a protector.
This book is all about good and evil. Is it justifiable to do evil things for the good of your family? Asher is an unsung hero who always watches from the sidelines. Sacrificing himself and what meager amount of happiness he can have in order to keep those around him safe. Little does he know that he can no longer be a bystander at life when he meets Ashlyn. I was sooooo happy to see her in this book. We first met her in book one, Gentry, but then she was mostly missing in book two, Roman. She comes to town on a rescue mission for her MIA BFF, Blaire, whom Ashlyn assumes got inducted into a cult full of hot men and is being brainwashed into staying with them. I absolutely loved Ashlyn's character. She is funny, loyal, relatable and a breath of fresh air. She pulled out a lighter side to Asher and was the perfect balance to him. They're dialogue was some of the funniest I've ever read.
This book was perfection. While I'm sad to say goodbye to the Wolves of Winter's Edge, I couldn't have imagined a better ending to the series!
Asher Striker, the oldest of the Stiker boys was born with immense power a dakness he called "The Taker" which he'd inherited from his mother. When he was younger his mother took the darkness within herself but there were consequences. He and his brothers wouldn't remember their mother.
If he didn't learned how to control the power within, it would destroy him and those he cared about. He liked his life before coming back to Rangeley, he couldn't wait to get back to his solitude life. All he had to do was help his brothers, Gentry and Roman opening up the Hunter Cove Inn and then head out of town.
Ashlyn Jenkins was in a mission to save her best-friend, Blaire (Gentry's mate) from the Striker brothers who she thought were psychopaths LoL. What she didn't expect was to found a very different Blaire than she knew and to see a side on Asher no one knew.
Ashlyn was irritating the man but Asher's beast found her intriguing while The Taker wanted to devour her in a very pleasant way. She wanted to solve the mysteries surrounding Blaire and the Strikers. Despite himself, Asher found herself being drawn to Ashlyn and vice versa.
As they got to know each other better, Asher went out of his way to make Ashlyn feel cosseted. When she found herself in peril, Asher unleashed the monsters that were within. The Strikers became closer than they have been in the past, they learned a lot about their origin.
Asher and Ashlyn complemented each other, she was the light to his darkness. She was the only one who was able ti help him carry the load of his burdens. Loved the bond that formed between the thre pairs.
ASHER the third and final installment in the WOLVES OF WINTER'S EDGE series by T. S. Joyce was outstanding, beautiful and emotional. My emotions were off the charts while reading this amazing book. T. S. Joyce once again brought us a series with characters many of us could relate to. 5++++
The last in the 'Wolves of Winters Edge' series. I was too lazy to review the others. However Roman #2 was the best in the series only because he was loveable, goofy and just straight up hilarious. I also liked Mila. It was lovely catch up with Gentry and Blaire as well. So back to this novel. This finishes up the series with Asher's book. Asher is the tortured, dark and angry brother who was so closed off he has basically the human version of a lock. Enter Ashlyn, Blaire's BFF. She's quirky, zany, funny and takes everything in her stride, to the point where it is a little ridiculous. The plot was well driven and all the loose ends were pinned down and the novel was a satisfying ending to a decent series. The only con that bugged me about the whole plot was Ashlyn's almost blasé attitude to the huge changes happening around her. She went from a city girl who had never even probably thought of a werewolf in her life to accepting Asher within 2 days. Asher laid some VERY heavy shit on her in the space of that proverbial week the novel was set in and she seemed to breeze right passed it without even a thought of 'hmmm, is he a feckin' nut?'. That bit was stretching it I thought. She never even freaked out once! Even when she got caught up between Odine (who's true character is revealed in this book) and Asher as their 'Taker' personalities duel out in an epic battle. I mean I do realise that I am reading paranormal fiction but just a little bit of reality would be slightly okay. Other than that it was a good read and kept me turning the pages like most TS Joyce novels do. She has a formula and she sticks with it. That doesn't bother me at all and I buy her books specifically because I know what I am going to get. She's like a pan pepperoni pizza; delicious, reliable and great at night with a glass of red wine.
This could have been a 5 star but instead I am giving it a 2. If you are going to write about fated mates and the bond and pull of them you don’t have the MMC Asher fuck a she wolf OW. It took more than it should to get him hard he did and he fucked the woman for all to hear with no condom. He then fingered her to orgasm because he would not leave her hanging as he had gotten her to finish him off with her mouth because he did not use condom to avoid pregnancy. He proceeded to strut out of their keeping up pretences. His wolf protested what he had done and he felt bad but not enough to not have done it and not to be truthful. Mina never found out about this and there was no OW drama from it I guess the author was trying to show how he was really protesting the mate thing. Instead it just planted him as selfish and more concerned about his rep than doing the right thing. He shit all over the mate bond right there.
I did like how he was patient with her and her trauma. I liked he was about getting her consent as they moved forward. The ending felt rushed and the twist at the end not fully explained. It was mentioned that wolves live much longer than humans but then not really touched on again.
If you are writing about mates write about mates not have the main fuck another to demonstrate his resistance to the mate pull. I could not fully get behind him getting the girl after that. He felt unworthy and selfish and a jackass first doing it with his wolf protesting. The whole thing felt wrong but he kept going. The OW knew he had a mate and still had sex with him. The two of them might have been a better match.
Setting: Hunter Cove Inn, Rangely Genre: Shifter romance Ashlyn goes to Hunter Cove Inn to retrieve her best friend, Blaire. A few months ago Ashlyn had sent Blaire for a little vacation in the woods and she never came back (see Gentry, Wolves of Winter's Edge #1). Ashlyn is thinking its maybe a weird cult or something. Ashlyn meets Asher Striker, the oldest of the 3 rogue werewolf brothers. He is dark and dangerous, but Ashlyn is attracted despite his telling her he's no good for her. And he's attracted to her, even though he thinks she'd be safer if she left, but he's kind of torn because he wants to protect her. He recognizes her as his mate. So should she go or stay? There's something evil afoot as well. Things have been too quiet since the Bone-Ripper Pack alpha disappeared (see Roman, Wolves of Winter's Edge#2), but something is coming for Asher. This is a good ending to the trilogy. The characters are well-rounded and the plot is interesting. There's sex and violence in the story, but neither is so graphic that it is raunchy (in the case of sex) or too bloody (in the case of the violence). There's no connection to any of Joyce's other shifter series, but Hunter Cove Inn cabin 1010 is a nod to some of them ( the 3 Damon's Mountains series, and the 2 Harper's Mountains series). I enjoy almost everything T. S. Joyce writes, and I'm looking forward to the next publication.
Wolves of Winter's Edge is three books about three brothers, each with secrets and damage that needs repaired, each needing a mate but not realizing it and bound to a place they think they hate and a father they think destroyed them. As each digs into what is going on they learn that their parents made choices, maybe bad choices, but choices no the less aimed at protecting and giving their boys a long and happy life.
Asher is the oldest and has the most demons. He also remembers the most about his childhood, and is the one who leads the brothers on their quest for the answers. He doesn't want the role as pack leader but it was born into him and there is nothing he can do to deny it.
Enter Ashlyn, she is Blaire's best friend and is determined that Blaire has fallen into a cult and she is going to rescue her and bring her back to the real world. What Ashlyn never counted on was that Blaire is truly in love and happy and has a new life, and Ashlyn feels the sting of loss and doesn't know how to react, she also doesn't know how to react to Asher.
This book is the third and focuses on Asher, but finishes the story of the Striker brothers and their quest to save the town their parents loved.
Asher is the 3rd and final book in this series. Bittersweet of course as always. Asher has earned a special place for me. The Dark Wolf. He's had it pretty rough. More so than his brothers. Labeled himself The Taker. He doesnt quite understand his powers but has had to control them since he was a boy. A lot of things came out in this book. I had an inkling who their mother was and I was right. Wow that had to be a major shock for Gentry and Roman. Ouch. The fact that Asher always knew was probably a double whammy. Their initial anger is understandable and they had no idea what Asher had been through. Ashlyn, I just loved her. She was so funny. Smart mouth indeed! Sweet and cute and she really wasnt afraid of Asher. Accepted him fully. Not saying she didnt freak and she did but she accepted him. I loved the story. This series was much darker than her others. Some of her readers didnt like that it was so dark. I didnt mind it in the least. There's gotta be darkness and not everything can be pretty. Its gotta be real sometimes and thats what she did. Oh lawd I loved this series! Cant wait for her next series...she's going back to the mountains! Panthers!
Asher and Ashlyn story was cute. After only just meeting and having a small conversation Asher was drawn to Ashlyn. There was something about her that drew him closer to her. He couldn't help himself she made him feel good and shrink The Taker inside Asher. Her aura was so blue and pure. Asher didn't do touch but he allowed Ashlyn to touch him and she made him smile so big. She knew something was off with him and the others by the way they talked and how they said it wasn't allowed, but that didn't stop them from falling in love. He took her to Odine to see if his future had Ashlyn in it, but only to find out she would be the one to cause his death. Asher was going to change that fate instead of being hunted he was going to be the hunter and kill the threat to change his fate. Ashlyn was his to protect and he was going to keep her in his life no matter what he had to do. Asher and his brothers went up against The Bone-Ripper pack after they came for him and took his mate Ashlyn to draw him out of the wood. Odine vision was right, but she sacrificed herself to save him because fate had changed and it was clear as day that Ashlyn was saving him from evil.
Asher is the oldest of the Striker Brothers. He also is the one with the darkest path. His entire life as resolved around one thing. Control. He has had to control the beast inside of him and I am not talking about his wolf. The Taker is the darkest part of Asher and without his constant control over the beast any and everything in his path would be devoured. In comes Ashlyn. She is the purest person he has every laid eyes on. He is fascinated by her and terrified that he will hurt her, but he soon finds out that the master in him wants nothing more than to protect her. For the first time in his life he doesn't have to fight The Taker. When it comes to Ashlyn he would chose her over himself. Ashlyn has the potential to make him weak, but she also has the potential to make him stronger than he has ever been? What will happen if the choice each other?
Dramatic conclusion to the series. Part of me wishes I'd stopped reading when I wanted to, but of course I was too curious, too invested in the overall arc... but let's just say if this had been the first couple I would've DNF'd both them and the series real quick. Asher's story was intriguing but I just never warmed up to Ashlyn. Right from the get go it was not a good first impression. Acting all high and mighty with totally misplaced attitude. I found her quite self-involved with no sense of self-preservation. No survival instinct. and then "training" him. Not cool. As for the overall story. It was one heck of a story and I really wish I hadn't read this last part. Very dark, and heavy. Even after all the revelations, didnt like Odine+Noah and all the shit they pulled. SOme of it made me sick to my stomach and I just wanted it to be over with...
Asher is book three and the conclusion of the Wolves of Winter's Edge series.
I loved Asher. He was so quiet and broody, and you could tell he was a lonely broken man. Ashlyn was this bubbly ray of sunshine that made Asher feel hope and actually made him smile. Ashlyn was strong and able to stand up to someone as powerful as Asher.
The remaining questions were answered and the big scene at the end was a little emotional. I was glad that the relationships among the three brothers mended and grew. Asher, Roman and Gentry were all great characters and the mates they were paired with were perfect for each of them. This was one of my favorites books by TSJ, and I enjoyed this entire series.
Asher was a fun read. 4.5 stars. I did not like the book in Ashlyn's POV. I did like the story. It was a little weird in Ashlyn's POV and them having sex with Asher being able to read her thoughts, him having to repeatedly ask her to shhh. Weird. Other than that, Odine's reveal was good. Although I figured that out in Roman's book. I liked Ashlyn as Asher's mate. Perfect amount a silly for him. One of my favorite, of the many, parts was when she came out of Jack's and Asher had put chains on her car. Very cute. He was so strong. His power gave me chills. Loved the final battle and success of the bar. Great series. Highly recommend.
I hate to play favorites (no I don't) but I think Asher was my favorite of the Striker brothers. While Gentry caught your eye & Roman made you laugh, Asher had your heart. He was the most misunderstood of the three and really reminded me of Ethan Blackwood from the Red Dead Mayhem series...which of course is part of why I love him so much. Ashlyn was a doll and I loved the happy ending they got...even Odine got one. It was a great wrap up to the overarching story too. It started off well, kept going, and ended without leaving you wanting for things that didn't get wrapped up or could have happened.
Ashlyn Jenkins’ annoyed her best friend Blaire didn’t come back from a vacation Ashlyn arranged and has come to collect her. Ashlyn is surprised Blaire left so much out of their conversations beginning with how tall, dark and sexy Asher is and he’s the only around when Ashlyn arrives.
Believing he’ll never have the mated happiness his brothers have found and having less control of his dark wolf and dark powers lately, Asher plans to leave soon. When outspoken, perky, living-out-loud, Ashlyn doesn’t seem to be intimidated by him in the least, Asher’s wolf and powers calm, giving him hope. Rating: 4.25stars
Asher is the scary broken brother, and I wasn’t sure how his story was going to go, but it was so engaging! He had so many things going on and I loved all his abilities and the magics he struggled with. Ashlyn was such a natural addition to the group and just organically fell in with them all, though I did think the romance was a little creepy stalker step too far. I mean, power to them, but red flags! They exist for a reason. Plotwise, this tied the rest of the books in the series together nicely. I don’t think anyone was surprised by the ‘twist’ that happened, but here were a lot of things set up previously that paid off in this book leading to the final confrontation.
