Book 1: SPAWNED BY THE DRAGON Having a baby after a one night stand was not something that Alyssa Clark had ever planned for but it was something she had grown to accept.
Having lost contact with the father Gavin, Alyssa had been raising baby Tommy all by herself.
However, Alyssa had no idea that the father was a WereDragon and that meant that Tommy would have inherited his abilities too.
Now with shady men coming after her wanting custody of the baby, Alyssa has no choice but to run, hide and hope her handsome WereDragon lover can come to her rescue....
Book 2: SPAWNED BY THE BEAR When Tara Fowler agreed to become a surrogate mother in order to earn money to pay off the mob so that they wouldn't kill her father she hoped it would be a reasonably simple deal.
However, Tara was totally unaware of two huge details.
One, that the baby was the spawn of a handsome WereBear named Warren.
And two, that she was also part of the deal....
Book 3: SPAWNED BY THE WOLF In a dystopian future where the human race was dwindling, Julia Watson was assigned as a “population growth partner” alongside handsome Commander Ryan Wallace.
However, Ryan Wallace was a man who carried the wolf shifter gene and this meant that any child they produced would likely carry the shifter gene also.
Julia knew she wanted to become a mother and with the world the way it was, she knew she would probably never get a better opportunity.
But could she really carry the spawn of a wolf? Could the wolf baby even survive inside her?
One thing was for sure and that was that Julia was about to discover what motherhood was really all about in more ways than one...
Book 4: SPAWNED BY THE LION Emily Davenport had no idea that she was a mother but this was what the FBI agents on her doorstep were telling her.
Apparently one of her eggs had been fertilized by a WereLion and the baby was then born via a surrogate mother. All without her being aware.
She had no idea how this could happen. It was a story that was too insane to believe.
But now Emily must go and meet the man behind this all and be introduced to the daughter she never knew she had.
However, the truth would soon come out and it would be even more shocking than Emily ever imagined..
Amira Rain is a popular author of a shifter and paranormal romance.
When she is not writing she enjoys dancing and going to the theatre. One of her big passions in life is chocolate and she has an irrational fear of spiders. So much so, that even a photo of a spider will scare her.
These four books were wonderful. Shifters created due to the release of a man-made virus are given th UP in Michigan. The first story is about dragons, the second is about bears, the third is about wolves and the last is about lions. Each story is touching and emotional in different ways. I loved them all.
Of the four books included in this box set, I have read two and my reviews on these are as follows:
BOOK 1 – SPAWNED BY THE DRAGON - 4-STARS Alyssa just wants to go to the fair, but instead she lets herself get roped into a bar trip. Getting cornered by half the pipeline crew working in Sandstone, Alyssa is rescued by Gavin, then gets her wish; a visit to the fair. After they spend the night together, Gavin promises Alyssa that he will come back to her, but he never does; Alyssa feels like she loves and hates him all at the same time. Alyssa is pregnant; after unsuccessfully trying to track Gavin down, she decides she will give her baby a loving home despite the circumstances, and when Tommy is born it is the happiest day of her life. But when Tommy reveals himself as a dragon shifter, Alyssa has no option but to flee, eliciting her brother’s help in her escape to the FDS, a shifter sanctuary. What a surprise when Alyssa confronts the FDS’s new Commander and it is Gavin. After hearing what Gavin has to say, Alyssa decides to give him another chance, but someone is out to ruin their happiness; there is a traitor in the FDS and Alyssa and Tommy are the targets. Tommy’s shifter abilities have been getting stronger and stronger, but he has always been uncomfortable when men are near Alyssa. When the traitors reveal themselves, and begin to threaten Alyssa, Tommy becomes angry and instead of his normal “light show”, he transforms into a dragon. This was an interesting shifter story, and had quite a few facets to make it an interesting and enjoyable read.
BOOK 3 – SPAWNED BY THE WOLF - 4-STARS It is an internet ad that first catches Julia’s attention; marriages require clear communication and mutual respect, love optional. But Julia wants a baby more than anything. The idea of never becoming a mom is inconceivable to her, whereas a loveless marriage was probably something she could learn to live with. Julia is paired and to be married to Commander Ryan Wallace, the Nation’s Leader, and while their initial meeting gets off on the wrong foot, they do eventually find what each are looking for. On her wedding night Julia becomes pregnant, but how can this be; what she doesn’t realise is that she has been cursed by magic and her pregnancy will not be a normal one. When Alex is born, he begins to grow at a rapid pace as does his intellect, and there is no sign of this slowing down. Willow, an old and wise woman from the mountains, is sent for and provides insight into what is happening with Alex. There is only one course of action; Bennett, the leader of the Graywolves has to be killed to reverse the curse and to stop him putting the same curse on the other women in the village. The Graywolves will be difficult to defeat, but when Julia realises she has some hidden powers herself, she wants to help. Ryan doesn’t want Julia involved in the fight, but at the last minute relents, neither of them not realising Alex has overheard their plans. This was an engaging shifter story that had a few twists and turns, and I found it an interesting read.
This is a good set of paranormal romances. I read them all when they were released individually. My favorite was Spawned by the Lion which had an interesting premise of the parents not knowing they had a child.
It starts with a young woman being told she is a mother but her child is missing. When she was kidnapped, her eggs were removed and then fertilized by sperm from a lion shifter. She heads on a journey to find her child and it begins with tracking down the father. From their first meeting, it is clear these two have a strong attraction. I liked that he teases her a little. He has just found out that he is a father too but he has an important job of protecting the community of shifters he leads. She is really determined to help track her child and does not given in to him when he wants to keep her safe. The romance is given time to develop and I enjoyed the ending.
Spawned by the Bear is a well written story about a shifter that wants a child very much. The surrogate is trying to pay back a debt and doesn't really understand the true nature of the deal. When they meet, it gets really interesting. I really enjoyed the story and recommend it to those who enjoy shifter romances.
Spawned by the Wolf is a great story about a woman who is matched with a man to have a child. He is a wolf shifter. It was just supposed to be an arrangement and they didn't expect the attraction. It is well-written and I really enjoyed the story.
One of those books you just keep reading and reading, didn't put it down until I was dome with all four books. A germ warfare activates men into shifters and women in Magical's. Dragons, bears, wolves and lions come together to form an Alliance of sorts, get your copy today and find out how it turns out.
First, I want to say that I read to the end because the concept of this series was intriguing, if poorly executed. Each book did get subsequently better as far as writing goes, but it enough to make me feel like the author managed to go from amateur to professional. Or that she has done the work of honing her craft. The first person narrative was flat and every voice from the first book to the last was basically identical. One personality narrated each book. It felt like I was sitting at a coffee shop with a group of friends and someone's boring cousin and instead of being engaged in a great conversation with my friends, I was stuck listening to the cousin drone on about her life. There were too many unnecessary quotations and italics just for emphasis. Instead of actually writing out scenes that would have been good for character development, the author just skipped them with a brief summary of events. Being told a story is very different from getting into a story. These were told and barely managed to keep my attention. I didn't have any problem putting them down at the drop of a hat, which is why it took me longer than usual to read them. Main complaints: flat narration with one personality over all the books, the language didn't evolve for new personalities, the sex scenes were really groan worthy because of the author's reticence to use more personal language. "Feminine lips" was that every narrator referred to her pussy as, and I mean, why? "Most sensitive spot"? How about clit? And "manhood" is so very harlequin. This collection could have used a sexy thesaurus. Speaking of thesauruses, it's ok to use one for whatever reason, but adding in one round with a thesaurus per book is really just obvious. Either stick with basic common words, or use your vocabulary to its limit with every book. I enjoy new words, as my review of another author say, but not at the expense of the characters.
The one good thing I can say, each book had a moment of hilarity. I laughed out loud at the contacts situation and the moment outside the baby boutique, and even the dirt in the eyes. So there were moments that shined. But overall, the author could use an experienced editor/developmental editor to hone her craft and make her writing more engaging and her characters more defined. General characters get generally boring generally quick.
I'll mark Amira Raine as an author to keep an eye on. Her concepts are good, interesting even, but execution needs a lot of work. I hope to see her writing get better.
I hesitated at getting this based on the title, even though I like Amira Rain. I just wasn't sure. I'm sooo glad I got it. It starts with a government scientist going off the rails, developing a germ warfare 'virus' that when he's stopped, he released into the U.S. It changes men only into dragons, and after a year or two delay, more men change into bears, wolves and lions. In a really cool twist the dragons fight the government experiments and get Michigan's UP as a independent country for themselves. All men, some with wives, many single. Then the fun begins with a dragon baby, a volunteer wolf bride , a surrogate mama for a bear, and a really strange start for a lion shifters child . All the stories are HEA and great fun to read. 18+
