At the sweet young age of eleven, a young life transgresses from the simple to the complex as Pete maneuvers through the darkness that surrounds all victims of childhood bullying.
Childhood is much more than the simple act of innocent role playing. Our young are now subjected to physical and emotional abuse from other children face-to-face, as well as, from inside the mysterious cyber-world of social media.
Young Pete (Petunia) learns all too fast that life just might not be all that it’s supposed to be – innocent and fun. Instead, she must deal with the daily struggle of whether living is really worth all the pain. She experiences things that adults would have trouble tolerating. So how can an eleven-year-old child accept and survive?
After her mother’s death, Pete finally meets her estranged biological father, a successful lawyer in Georgia. Although surprised to discover she’s the produce of a mixed heritage, Pete openly accepts and gives her new life a chance. But after dealing with the emotional weight of losing a mother and meeting her estranged father, suffering daily at the hands of her classmates may be a little too much for her. Would the solitude she finds at the top of her towers be enough?
Lynn Yvonne Moon is the American author of the successful Agency Series. Lynn created the concept of The Agency in the 1990's and wondered what would be the implications if government power and money was unlimited. Lynn has worked for both State and Federal Government since the 1990's and uses her long reaching personal experiences to captivate her audience with realistic stories of political corruption and black Government espionage.
Her first novel, When Souls Collide introduces the reader to the ultimate power of The Agency. The second novel, What Rings True, awakens The Agency to the ramifications of never-ending political power. Dysfunctional Bloodline traces the steps of a family serial killer out for revenge. And her fourth novel, In The Defendant's Chair, will shock her readers by exploring the controversial subject of genetic tampering.
Lynn's research has taken her to extreme Government locations and down dangerous and mysterious paths. Through her personal associations, Lynn examines every document and asks every question imaginable to uncover the truth. It's those truths that come out in her books.
According to Mark J. Lumer, retired Space and Missile Defense Command, Lynn's books are a must read for everyone. "Lynn Moon's novels are closer to real life than most readers realize. Her depictions of spycraft are accurate and display a profound knowledge of the black world. Coupled with compelling story lines and fully developed characters, her novels are a great read. There's no better way to spend a weekend then settling down with one of her novels."
Lynn was born and raised in Ventura, California where she played in the sloping tree-covered hills while watching the military helicopters fly overhead. Throughout her life, Lynn has always asked the harsh questions as to the Whys and has never been afraid to push for an answer. Lynn graduated from Troy State University where she earned a Masters Degree in Government. She currently works for the Commonwealth of Virginia and resides in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Aside from writing her novels, Lynn is an avid reader and loves gardening.
It's very rare for me to pick up a book and not be able to put it down. This is one of those books. I chose it because of Rebecca. She was my neighbor's daughter's best friend.
This problem is all too real in our society today, and it's out of control. Parents need to be more involved in their children's lives, and listen to what they are saying, and to what they don't say. Adults need to be more aware of what's happening in our schools and playgrounds, and stand up for our younger generation.
Social media has made the bully's work much easier. Monitor your children's accounts. Don't let them be a part of the problem. Become part of the solution!
We are proud to announce that THE TOWER by Lynn Yvonne Moon is a B.R.A.G.Medallion Honoree. This tells readers that this book is well worth their time and money!
This book brings attention to something that has plagued our children and grandchildren. As hard as parts are to read, the horrible truth is this is happening every day. Very well written!
