I read The Lions Game and the story is very very good. The main character is funny and a real wise ass which is sometimes a bit much. There was great action, twist and turns, involvments of other agencies and a lot of killing ....
The book could be much shorter if the author would concentrate on the story and would not spend to much time with boring days of briefing and meetings. A bit shorter would bring the book up to 5 stars ........

Nothing like a Nelson DeMille book to make my day/month/year--these are three terrific ones! (One of the few authors I have to buy as soon as a hardbound hits the shelves, and have never missed reading a single one of his.)

Goodreads would not find "The Lion" which is the book I actually read! However, I have also read the three books in the series. Come on, Goodreads, "The Lion" isn't that dated - 2010 copyright!

These three books made me a fan of De Mille's portrayal of his Long Islsnd homeland. The Charm School was so descriptive if every element he wanted us to know. I felt as though I was a part of the story. Since that book, I have read all of his books....hot off the press.

Truth be told, I only read The Charm School in this bundle. But, I already read it once this year, so it won't count twice on my GR reading goal. If only I could find another one on here so I could read it just once more this year...
