A batch of heart-shaped cookies stirs the imagination of the dragonlings and their friends when Carmen shares a magical tale of love. It will take a very special Valentine, a few mischievous dragonlings, their best friends, some clueless warriors, and two enchanting Goddesses to help a lonely woman find the dragon who loves her.
Love is in the air and not even the mighty warriors of the Valdier, Curizan, and Sarafin are immune to the power of celebrating their feelings for the women who have changed their lives. Hearts, glue, and glitter abound when the warriors help the dragonlings on their quest to assist Cupid in this delightful tale of love, hope, and happiness.

DELICIOUS CUTE, OUTRAGEOUSLY FUNNY AND DELIGHTFULLY ENTERTAINING !!! Title: The Dragonlings' Very Special Valentine Series: Dragonlings of Valdier Designation: Book 4, Novella, No Cliffhanger, Can Be Read As Standalone Dragonlings of Valdier is a subseries of Dragon Lords of Valdier Genre: #sciencefiction #fantasy #romance Reading Platform: Kindle Edition My Rating: Five Devilishly Cute Stars***** Oh my! The dragonlings and friends are back with more delightful shenanigans, and I can't seem to get enough! Smith has dazzled her fans again with yet another devilishly cute, fun-filled romp. In The Dragonlings' Very Special Valentine, the younglings embark on another wildly entertaining adventure after hearing a very special story about the celebration of another holiday on Earth. But this time, our youngsters learn about the tradition of showing love by giving valentines along with a very important lesson about the healing power of love. Of course, as always, our dragonlings take it to heart.... and very, very literally. They seek assistance from the goddesses Arilla and Arosa to help them heal the broken hearts of two special but very lonely people who have given up on love. Unfortunately, to do it, they'll have to cross the universe to deliver two very special valentines and teach two lonely individuals how to love again. I never tire of reading about the hilariously precarious misadventures of these adorably precocious toddlers which always seem to result in headaches galore for the adults but loads of fun for everyone, including the readers. This is a spinoff or subseries of Smith's Dragon Lords of Valdier Series but these stories feature the Valdier, Sarafin and Curizan toddlers experiencing a popular Earth holiday with books to date spotlighting Easter, Christmas, Halloween and now, Valentine's Day. The fact it's also the first time the alien dragon lord fathers are experiencing our traditional but strange holiday celebrations makes it an adventure for the adults as well and only adds to the hilarity. Each of the books is novella length, can be read as a standalone and all end with a sweet, satisfying happy ending, but it would certainly be remiss of me if I did not recommend the entire Dragons and Dragonlings of Valdier Series.
But as usual I digress, so let's talk a few details about this book in particular. I found this story to be unique, highly imaginative, humorous, exceptionally well crafted with a beautifully written third person narrative with perspectives from the parents as well as the children. The dialogue is smart, entertaining, well executed, laugh-out-loud funny, and flows effortlessly. What do I even say about the dialogue of the children other than it's absolutely hysterical. It's exactly the way my grandchildren talked when they were toddlers learning to communicate. It's just precious! But if I had to pick a favorite element of each of the stories, it would be the characters. They are adorable, realistic, fascinating, engaging, and vividly portrayed. They literally explode from the pages, grab your imagination and completely capture your heart. The celebrations are designed primarily for the children but, of course, the alien dads are nothing more than overgrown kids themselves and always horn in on all the fun, after which complete chaos ensues! I can hardly wait to see what Smith has in store for the dragonlings and their little friends in crime!
Did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! Would I recommend it? You bet and I am but maybe only for tweens, young adults and, of course, for us mature readers as well. I'm 65 years young and never seem to get enough of the little Dragonlings and friends shenanigans. I never miss any of the books in this series and always race to place my preorder as soon as it's offered by Smith. Will I read this author again? Absolutely! Just as soon as she releases her next book! And finally, was I entertained? Totally! I was glued to my seat, white-knuckling my ereader, and laughing hysterically while the pages flew as quickly as the time! Deliciously cute, devilishly fun, outrageously comical, and delightfully entertaining! Oh, and FYI, have your box of tissue handy; this one will definitely tug on your heartstrings! A wonderfully written kids' story for us grownups! I can hardly wait until all the dragonlings and their little partners in crime grow up to each have an adventure of their own but for now, we'll settle for another earth holiday, celebrated Valdier style!!!
Over the course of the series we have learned that the Dragonlings, Rome, and Alice refuse to just sit back and allow the adults take over the stories. The children already want to help and make everything good for everybody. So when Carmen decides to tell a story about Valentine's Day the children feel that it is their duty to help save a Valdier Warrior because everybody should have a whole heart.
This story is Phoenix's coming out party. Phoenix is the one that decides to go to Earth and help the Lonely Woman fix the Valdier Warrior's Heart. She is the one that has the gift to open up a portal and order for her and her friends to go through. She is also the one who realizes how close she was to losing her mother and she is one that actually saves her. If I didn't love Phoenix already this story solidifies it for me. She is just an amazing character and I really cannot wait to see where S.E. Smith takes her.
The guys as well or great addition to the story. They are completely and utterly funny and are just big kids. When we are first introduced to each of the men individually they seemed as though they were lacking a child's enthusiasm. Now that they are mated and have children of their own you can see how much having the other half means to them and how much they would do anything to keep a hold of that sensation. Paul of course is funny. Paul just seems to be everybody's daddy and I'm pretty sure Mora is a lot easier to deal with then these grown men.
I will continue to gobble up and listen to every single story that Susan Smith decides to put out. She is simply amazing and all her books are funny and heartwarming and just makes you want to be happy. Of course David Brenin is amazing as well. I just love the voices that he gives to all his characters. So swoon worthy.
We read this book for episode 51 of our podcast. To celebrate Valentine’s Day we chose this fun, short story from the Dragon Lords of Valdier series by SE Smith. The bedtime story of a lonely lady and stone-hearted warrior is too exciting for the dragonlings who decide they need to go to Earth and help the two characters find love. What ensues is a comedy of errors as small dragon shifters and their dragon lord fathers explore Valentine’s Day. This was a cute and fun dip into a much bigger world that SE Smith has created. We were left intrigued and interested to go back and read these books from the beginning. We took the theme of Valentine’s Day and ran with it, spilling our best and worst Valentine’s days along with a bunch of other personal stories. Another “really” enjoyable and entertaining read by S. E. Smith!!! ❤️ I absolutely loved it!!! 💞 I always look forward reading her books because I know that I will not be disappointed, especially books with the Dragonlings and their little friends in them!! They are just so adorable and they bring their own different and unique perspective to the story! Also their childlike innocence is so refreshing! In The Dragonlings Special Valentine they are off on another exciting adventure, this time bringing together a lonely heartbroken human woman who is losing her sight and a Dragon Warrior who is also lonely and heartbroken and resigned to never finding his true mate!! The Dragonlings Special Valentine is also good and heartfelt story with humour, excitement, adventure, wonder and love 💕!!!
The dragonlings' get into mischief again, but all for a very good reason! They want to help two lonely people , find each other. I could not stop laughing at the antics of the children as they go about what they are doing. Another Holiday time the parents will not get over for awhile ! I wonder what will set these children off on their next adventure?
The dragonlings and their friends are at it again and they are just the cutest and sweetest kids ever. But I sure am glad I'm not their parents! Sheesh! They're all over the place, literally!
I'm glad someone else from the earlier books was able to find his true mate. And that a lonely woman found someone who would love her regardless of any obstacles. Just simply a very sweet story.
This book was pull you into the pages where secrets and fairytales live!
I hope you have a box of tissues while reading this unique and lovingly crafted storyline that will steal your heart and make you laugh! This author has a special way of writing that's so moving you'll have to get every single one of her stories for your own!
Astrid's Description: The cutest little guys EVER!
This adorable book follows a few dragon children on their quest to teach the blind lady that dragons are not scary! I love the descriptions and each characters personality. The story line had an amazing amount of feeling and observations that kept me interested. I will be looking into the other books by S.E. Smith. I totally recommend this book to anyone that enjoy shifter series, but doesn't need the graphic sex scenes.
Super cute I love the Dragonlings and thier friends. I like how they decide to take things into their own hands to help the adults find love and friends. I love Phoenix, Spring and Alice and it would be interesting to see how their talents develop as they get older.
The major annoyance I had with this book was how they keep harking on how their daddies pants grow when they kiss thier mommies.
The bonus stories were too short and seemed rushed and unfinished.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
It was available to read for free on audible, and I thought it would be about dragons.
It was about a man and woman (married, thankfully) who had the hots for each other. I think the man can maybe turn into a dragon. I was only a few minutes into it (20 minutes?) when I stopped because the man and woman were lusting after each other.
I wanted a cute, clean fantasy tale, not something that looked to become erotic romance.
Four stars. A very sweet, kinda adorable and dorky (out of the mouths of babes, though the repetition of embarrassing things mommies and daddies do are annoying after the first few times) fantasy story about a dragon king, dragon lords, warriors, princes, their mates and offspring of special dragonlings and other beings from an alien planet. A nice way to spend an hour or two one afternoon (or morning, or evening).
Can you believe it all started with heart shaped cookies! A story about Valentine's day has the dragonling's and their friends on a mission to fix a couple of broken hearts. When they travel to earth through a portal they find the house in question with a woman on the porch, little did they know the story was about someone else entirely. This is a laugh out loud funny story with lots and twists and turns. I loved it.
I Just love this series. Looking forward to reading the next book in this storyline. The children understanding is growing fast. The different situations the kids get into with helping those who they care for besides the integrity of their parents who are always there for those who need them.
I truly believe I enjoy this series more than any other I read. And I read nonstop. There is no sex no murder no horror. Just good old fashioned family and their love of each other. The children are absolutely amazing and I hope this story goes all the way until their adults. Wonderful I would give it a 10 if I could
Ive enjoyded all her books and have all her books in series in either print or kindle, this is a beautiful book to read just wished it was alittle longer as it was that good. Looking forward to the next book release in this series and any other that is in the process of being written.
Smith draws you into a world of dragons ,love and family. This is one of the best storytellers of this century. If you haven't already tried some of her books then you're missing out on some really great reading. Lots of love and tears with a bunch of laughter thrown in!!!
I love to read about the children discovering Earth's holidays. There is so much fun, excitement and humour. I highly recommend this story and all the Valdier and friends series. Love, love, love these stories. Thanks Susan and keep on writing!
I love reading these books! I love the world of the Valdier, Curizan and Sarafin and these books are a great way to keep the stories of all of these characters going. I am always anxiously waiting for the next book in this series. Keep them coming!
I love this series and you will too! I love following what happens to the characters in all the other books and thee new stories surrounding their friends and children! Five stars!
Another wonderful adventure with the Dragonlings and their friends. This time it is Valentine's Day shenanigans with the children and their fathers. Had me laughing and had some tears. I just love these books.
This was such a cute read! The dragonlings were charming rascals and their antics had me smiling all the way through the story! Since I started backwards with this series, I’m going to have go back to see how all the parents met..
All S. E. Smith's books are a great read. The Dragonlings' are just plain fun. The fathers are in as much trouble as the kids are. Love reading them. A nice relaxing and fun read.
It is awesome how all the characters are woven together but also stand alone. I adore reading about the younglings and cannot wait to see what happens next. Don’t miss out on this awesome author.
The innocence of children can truly see what the heart needs. The dragonlings, Sarafin Prince and Curizan Princess are so sweet and special. Every story warms my heart.
Every time the author writes one of these shorts, my first reaction is not the same as the reactions of the parents of these dragonlings. They go EEP! I go AWWW! This one was no different - dragonlings trying to make a sweet story come true and incidentally changing lives along the way. Awwww!
