Set in the world of Pittacus Lore’s Lorien Legacies series, this 100-page novella begins a new saga that coincides with the events of Generation One. Fan-favorite characters Six and Sam Goode return in this digital original companion series that’s The X-Files meets the X-men.
In the aftermath of a thwarted alien invasion, teenagers across the globe have begun to develop incredible powers known as Legacies.
Most are sent to the Human Garde Academy, where they can learn to harness their powers for the good of humanity. But there are still countless others who slip through the cracks, who prefer do things their own way, or who are being kept from attending the Academy by people with very different plans for these gifted teens.
That is where Six and Sam come in. They’ve just joined a convert group tasked with investigating suspicious incidents around the world which might be Legacy-related. Their first mission has them looking into the connection between a string of disappearances—but as they dig deeper into the mystery, they stumble upon an unexpected and dangerous Human Garde underworld.
It was exciting to have another book about the original Garde, but I miss the old way it was written, being narrated. It was very exciting, something was always happening.
It was not a disappointing book and I enjoyed it a lot!!
The Lorien Legacies world is my FAVORITE WORLD/SERIES/BOOK EVER!!!!!
The plot wasn't given the time to mature properly. I'm not used to this Six with the sharp edges smoothed away. She is supposed to be the badass. And it seems everyone now has telekinesis. Makes it so commonplace to warrant further mention. Pittacus Lore are hit and miss authors. This was smack in the middle. The Lorien Legacy series are a beautiful concept. I'd read them any day. Some aren't up to scratch though.
A Six and Sam short story, the first in a collection set after the original series and taking place at the same time period as Generation One. I always rooted for Sam, so I was happy to see him and Six again, doing their own thing outside the academy....tangential to the plot in Generation One, but with new characters and a completely new horrifically realistic side-plot (humans are terrible and ruin even the best gifted powers).
Out of the Ashes is the second spin off that has raised from the end of the I am Number Four series (The Lorein Legacies). It focuses on two of the main characters of the first series as they separate from the rest of their group to make their own journey. It was a short story about how Six and Sam try to establish a group with the help of the government for all those Human Garde who do not want to go to the Academy or the Earth Garde as they consider that as giving up their freedom. In the book, Sam and Six come across new adventures and human garde who they take responsibility of while they figure out what to do next and whether to believe the government themselves. The story overlaps with the Generation One stories and will have cameos of other characters in it.
I really liked this book as it not only focuses on others perspectives but also have overlapping plots which will help keep the plot lines of both the series interesting. I can't wait for the next books in both the series. I will recommend all fantasy readers to read the Lorien Legacy series.
At first I wasnt sure about this book because I havent read Generation One yet (I will probably pick that book up next conisdering these two series go side by side). Anyways this series follows Six and Sam. They have been vacationing because Six doesnt want to join the HGA. Then Mckeena seeks them out to look for his son, and they just find themselves in a more complicated situation. That leads them to finding other kids with Legacies. In the end they are informed they have to meet up with Nine at the HGA headquarters. This should be interesting.
This novella coincides with the story in Generation One and follows Six and Sam. Loved the story, hated the cliffhanger ending. Luckily it's not too long a wait for the next one!
Now, this is something I really wanted to read. I'm guessing that the rest of the Legacies Chronicles (that's the name right?) are gonna be about the Lorics which is just awesome.
It was a short story straight to the point but still letting you know about their past and what has been going on in their lives.
The plot was very realistic with the opinions and points of view that would occur in a situation like that, which I totally love.
All in all, it was a nice break in my other reads.
Took me a while to find this on Goodreads; I thought it was still called Lorien Legacies...
This series takes place a bit after United as One, and man, am I glad to hear from Sam and Six again. I'm also glad they mentioned the pendant that John left. I was a bit disappointed that John didn't make an appearance, but I'm sure we'll see him soon.
I loved watching Six and Sam work together; they compliment each other so well. I also liked how the chapters alternated perspectives so we got to know both sides of the story. Also, I love Six's personality and her witty remarks.
Being introduced to a new crew of kids with their own powers was pretty cool too. Nemo is truly a mini Six and it's great.
And ah... oh the pilot disappeared. That sucks.

I have mixed feelings about this book. The way they did the point of view was a bit confusing. At the beginning of the chapter they would list a person. Then when their thoughts were shared they referred to themselves as "I" then when the spoke they would refer to themselves in third person. For example. Sam would be thinking and he would refer to himself in first person, then in the next line he would say something and it would say, "Sam said." Because of this and some of the other writing techniques. used, it made it sound like a fan fiction, not a novella written by the actual authors. The story line was great though, I like that not all of the main heroes were okay with the way things were handled after the first book. I will still read the other books in this series and just hope it gets better.
Loved reading more about Sam and Six 😍 These events were alluded to in the spin off series but we didn't get details so this is a nice treat. Six is as paranoid and selfish as usual, but she finally decides to help. Now she and Sam are trying to help new Legacies find a safe place to learn about their powers and not be used but with different organizations zeroing in on the human garde, it's its not easy. Sam and Six are on a rescue mission and cant wait to read more! Excited to see if they save anyone since....i know they end up captured 🙈 lol
I like the way that this novella gives additional details on events in Generation One and goes beyond that to introduce new human garde with unusual legacies. As in Generation One, there are villains involved whom Sam and Six need to overcome in order to rescue the captives. Out of the Ashes ends on a real cliffhanger that's going to make it hard to wait until March for the next novella in The Legacy Chronicles.
It was nice to see more of Six and Sam, who have been off the grid since the big battle. They are not working for the Academy, but they get recruited to help track down some of the kids with legacies who have not reported for the academy. It is their hope that they track them down and protect them from those people who are kidnapping Garde - especially those with healing legacies.
Great story just wish I knew what happened to all after they defeated the Mogs.
Great book but wish there was something between the defeat of the Mogs & where this story began. Maybe a short recap of the last book, what happened to numbers 4 through 10 or 9, don't remember if the little girl that came was considered 10.
Estaba emocionada por leer más sobre Six y Sam porque son dos de mis personajes favoritos. Sin embargo, me quedó a deber. Todo pasaba demasiado rápido y no daba tiempo de desarrollar más la historia. Espero que el siguiente mejore. :)
This was a fun, interesting read. I can see how it can be a stand alone but also how it could give some insight to Generation One which I thoroughly enjoyed. Quick read, worth it.
This felt like a different author than previous Lorien books. However, it's been awhile, so maybe I've just forgotten. I like the creativity in the new Legacies, but this book mostly just presented questions that remained unanswered.

Eu estava com saudade da Seis e do Sam e fiquei feliz quando vi que o livro seria narrado pelos dois, em alguns momentos eu tive muito preguiça de ler, mas a história é boa e complementa a história da trilogia de Reborn.
Sam and Six are figuring out what comes next. Fast read, introductions to some of the next generation of the garde. Moving onto the next novel, so I'm guessing this novella is a lot of set-up.
I really liked this book, it has characters I care about. Lots of action and suspense. I have read several of books by this author and I will continue to read them.
