⭐️️⭐️️⭐️️⭐️️⭐️️ Five AH-MAZING Stars from Susan at Ladies Living in Bookland
Oh jeez this was not a book I expected from Laura Morgan at all. But given how much I adore her dark and dangerous writing it just seemed like a natural progression....Rough Love was going to be a journey and half!
Meet Dahlia...
Except:
At only twenty years old, I'd already completed two master's degrees and I had learned to speak three languages fluently. I'd never been drunk, had sex or taken drugs, and hardly had any friends. I wanted and needed for nothing and my father always saw to everything when it came to taking care of me. He controlled every aspect of my life, and I never once complained.
Garret, her father though would treat her like she was his very own princess. But she wasn't spoiled or greedy because of it. I switched between loving and loathing this character because of him immense control issues but overall, his love for his now only daughter, was sometimes muddled.
Excerpt:
...my father, Garret Proctor, is an exceptionally powerful man. As far as I've always been aware, he's no drug-lord or gangster, but still feared and respected by all those who frequented our home to talk business with him. No one messes with him and gets away with it, put it that way.
Being a part of Black Knights Motorbike Club was about to take drastic turn for Dahlia. All those things she hadn't faced or experienced before, were about to all face her head on. But how would she cope and what would it do to their father-daughter relationship?
Excerpt:
I'll do this for you Dad. But know this. I will hate you from now until the day I die for making me an object you traded, rather than a human being you love and respect.
Being thrust into a position Dahlia wasn't expecting, we the readers experience her highs, her lows and everything in between. Some scenes more dark than others, captured me and always kept me on the edge of my seat. Seeing the turmoil that Dahlia faced at stepping into her dead sisters shoes, of taking the life she should have had. And maybe some of the terror she even faced?
Excerpt:
Don't let him manipulate you like he did me. Be the strong and true woman I know you are beneath that quiet exterior. I'm sorry I couldn't have been a better big sister....
Jeez - I'm tearing up! Seriously. Get a grip Susan. But honestly, Laura Morgan can change my emotions to sit right alongside the characters she writes about. From the seriously steamy bedroom antics and heat, to the heart wrenching scenes you fear for her life. Then you have this little love story all mixed in too. There seriously isn't a dull moment!
This book is like a parcel. The layers of wrapping are like the emotions it envokes. Each chapter strips way more until you're left with the very core. Rough Love. As described!
Excerpt:
You've become the woman I always dreamed you'd be, the woman your mum once was. You'll make a wonderful wife and mother, but most importantly of all, you make us better men for knowing and loving you.
An absolute must read....I can't wait for more people to read and then I can divulge more without giving you lovely readers away too much.
