Nettie's Tea House: A Tale of the Afterlife

Rate this book
A quirky, modern-day fable, Nettie’s Tea House takes you on a fanciful journey of the afterlife and delivers a message of healing and hope. From enchanting apple orchards to Zen gardens to magical reflection pools and a crew of small but powerful garden gnomes, cave-dwelling dwarves, and house brownie, the world of Nettie’s Tea House will forever be imprinted on your heart and soul.

After Gabriella Bunting sustains a fatal head injury in a car crash, she finds herself at Nettie’s Tea House, a halfway house for troubled souls who have left their physical bodies but are unable to fully transition due to unfinished business. The tea house proprietors are Agatha and Nettie Tulrose, sisters descended from a High Fairy race of healing masters, whose staff administers award-winning healing teas and other treatments to help these souls transform their pain into peace and embrace their true potential.

PRAISE FOR R.D. PETTI and NETTIE’S TEA HOUSE:

“Petti is a talented writer whose tale evoked, for me, the delights of other metaphorical tales by such writers as George MacDonald, Lewis Carroll and Tolkien. I truly hope Petti captures the audience she deserves. This is a rewarding tale, meant to be savored.” --- Judge, 23rd Annual Writer’s Digest Self-Published Book Awards

‎“R.D. Petti takes us on an astral journey that is a feast for the eyes and a balm for the soul. Not since God on a Harley has a novel inspired so many a-ha moments.” --- Dana Micheli, owner of Writers in the Sky

Cheers to the author for tackling this subject matter though it fell a bit short for me in the telling. It was a bit confusing with the different storylines. Much of the content did resonate with what is going on in the world though, which itself is chaotic. All in all I enjoyed the read.

Concept & characters had potential, but the writing itself was completely flat - all telling rather than showing.

I did not finish this book. It seemed to go all over the place with no plot. I couldn’t relate to the characters.
