Angelique Conger, has spent years enticed by the stories of ancient women, challenging her to comb through the Bible, gleaning tidbits of information about them, the little there is. No one knows or tells their stories, even their names are unknown. Many of their husbands’ stories are unknown, as well. Now, Angelique tells their thought-provoking stories as though they sat beside her, whispering into her ear. These are found in her series Ancient Matriarchs.
Angelique discovered the wonders of writing books later in her life. Books, however, have always been important. As a little girl in a small town in southern Utah, she was given her own library card at the tender age of five, highly unusual in those days. She remembers walking the few blocks to the library on her own to choose the maximum number of books allowed in those days, four nice, thick books. She took them back three or four days later for four more. As she got older, she occasionally returned the books a day or two past the limit of two weeks. The librarians allowed her to straighten the stacks to pay off her fines. This introduced her to the Dewey Decimal System of organizing books early in life.
Angelique reads a book or three much of the time. She reads most genre`s of books, often toying with the idea of writing a few herself. Her sister challenged her to participate in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) in 2013. She won that year and several others, writing the beginnings of the books in Ancient Matriarchs. Since then, she has spent many hours each day learning the craft of writing, editing, and publishing.
Studying and writing about Eve, and other matriarchs, gave her a deeper understanding of the challenges faced in a new world. Many of the questions women want to know about her life, such as: Who helped her give birth? How did the learn to feed themselves? Who taught Eve about raising children? How did they learn to write? Though the answers cannot be historically accurate, they “feel right.”
Angelique followed her husband around the world as he served in the United States Navy. Her favorite place to live was Hawaii. Though Gibraltar was interesting, it wasn’t her favorite place to live. She received a BED in Education from the University of Hawaii and a MS from Utah State University. She taught grade school for 14 years in Utah.
Angelique strives to do her best to obey the command given to Eve to replenish the earth. She has five children and nine grandchildren, so far. Her goal is to be a noble matriarch like Eve.
Angelique lives in southern Nevada with her husband, love bird, and two turtles. She looks forward to visits from her grandchildren—and their parents.

From the Garden of Eden
Eve is a thoroughly enjoyed read. It is the first in the series starting with Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden.
Angelique Conger has a wonderful way with writing. The storyline is very believable, and eating the forbidden apple starts the book off from freedom to a new hard world of fighting off evil, and bringing new life into a world where evil will do it's best to show it can,and will change lives forever.
Highly recommended.

One thing lacking in the bible is detail. The author changes that with her wonderful tale. Readers are given a look inside the story of Adam and Eve told with a depth that is amazing. I loved the way the author has added to an age old story and makes it feel complete. If you are not a bible fan or a religious person, you will still find this a great story of life and the hardships involved with it.

A very interesting and imaginative account of the life of Eve, the very first woman to set foot on this Earth. It was quite thought-provoking to envision the many ways that Adam and Eve worked through their trials and errors ways in navigating the world once they were banished from the Garden. Just as babies learn, grow and develop understanding, so must Adam and Eve in this new world.

Today, as we ponder the many advances and technologies that society has witnessed over the centuries, we often have the mistaken belief that we must, on average, have more intelligence than our predecessors. However, I don't believe that to be true. I think this story illustrates how imaginative and SMART Adam and Eve must have been to successful fulfill the commandment that they were given: Multiply and replenish the earth. This commandment obviously refers to populating the earth with children, but to also thrive and flourish on the earth as well.

Their knowledge and abilities to problem-solve, build homes, and create tools and implements to survive and make life easier could have only come from the intelligence the Father provided as they had no previous accomplishments to build upon nor anyone else to rely upon except their Heavenly Father and themselves.

A very wonderful book. I loved it.

Really enjoyed this story that takes you back to Adam and Eve. Her story is amazing and helps you to understand the problems they faced starting after leaving Eden. At first I was upset at Eve for giving in to eating the forbidden fruit after finding out Adam had resisted. But then we would not have our children if she had kept fighting. How would she and Adam have multiplied otherwise. All the trials and tribulations she and Adam went through and they kept believing. So many times we struggle with faith and we stay with our beliefs. This book shows both the temptations and forgiveness. It shows love and sorrow. So many things that I had heard but this gave me more understanding.

wonderful read

This story opens up a whole new perspective on Gods creation of humanity and His enduring love in spite of our sins. The teaching about the sacrifices of innocent animals brought tears to my eyes as I think about the ultimate sacrifice of Christ for our sins. Beyond any love we can understand. I believe this writer is anointed by God to lead us to a greater understanding of Gods love thru Christian novels. I feel like I was present all thru the story and was sad when I came to the last page.

There is so much about this book that I love. The author’s account of Eve’s experience from the Garden of Eden, to being cast out, to learning how to survive in the lone and dreary world all while being obedient to God’s command of multiplying and replenishing the earth AND learning to follow Jehovah is BEAUTIFUL! Mother Eve is such an inspiration and I loved feeling that Eve was a woman with normal emotions and concerns for her children and husband. Thank you, Angelique for writing this novel so we could feel closer to Eve. ❤️

Nice take on our first parents

This was a pretty good account of Adam and Eve told from Eve's point of view. Made her a very human and interesting person and not at all the wicked women many doctrines make her out to be. I do think some better editing would have helped to reduce grammatical and redundant preachiness. Eve repeated her woes a bit too much. Otherwise I am glad the author tackled this subject. The beginning in the garden of Eden was great.

Mildly interesting tale

An imagining of what life might have been like for Eve in the beginning of the world. Filled with the discovery of what became ordinary things, Eve and Adam had to build a life for themselves and their many children. Could have been much better, the writing is often stilted, the dialog too formal, and the many names thrown in with little characterization. I found myself scanning quickly just to reach the end.

This book is an account narrated by Eve, telling her daughters and granddaughters the story of her life with Adam. She relates the story of leaving Eden and trying to live in a hostile world with only her husband to help her. It is a realistic story of giving birth and raising children, filled with love for Jehovah and her family.

I wanted to love this book because I really enjoy reading biblical fiction. But it dragged and took forever to read. Plus, the copy I have was riddled with errors: missing punctuation, missing words, and so much repetition. Not to mention an entire 3 page section was reprinted.

This book was actually really cool to read. Usually, I hold books that are even remotely about religion at arms length but this one really caught me by surprise. Besides, the cover is gorgeous.

Eve

A very different but incisive story about one of the critical women of the Bible. Do not believe many people wonder about her life and family.

Interesting point of view. The characters could have been more in depth but an enjoyable book nonetheless.

I like the plot of the story thus far; I just don't care for the writing style.

I really enjoyed this story. It took me a little while to get used to the language though. The author wrote it in a way to avoid sounding modern. I have read all her books after this one.
