“tell me. do you know why women dance revolution with veil-shrouded tongues”
Interstellar: an e-chapbook featuring 10 poems about writing your own mythologies into the stars. a series about finding hope again, and creating your own immortality.
Rishika Aggarwal is a poet living in Mumbai, India. Her work has been featured, or is upcoming, in The Rising Phoenix Review, Vagabond City Lit, the Sapphic Swan Zine, and Picaroon Poetry's Deranged.
Many have written about stars, but none quite like Rishika. Aggarwal's Interstellar begins with a bang and ping-pongs through solar systems until the whole constellation draws the reader down to earth by its own gravity. It is by turns documentary and incantational, proceeding from vast impersonal voids to inner spaces, breathing new life into myths both timeless and ephemeral with a distinctive rhythmic pace. I look forward to reading more of her work.
"Lament for Lost Princesses" is my personal favorite. The author is adept at distilling continents of thought and feeling into succinct, powerful, verses. Excellent collection, just wish it were longer!
