Overview:
This series, set in Marietta, Montana concerns the participants in the Bachelor Bake-Off which is being organised to help finance ‘Harry’s House’, a house where it is planned children can go, take part in activities, learn key life skills and be helped with their studies. A safe place for them all being created in memory of Harry Monroe, a first responder who was tragically killed whilst endeavouring to help an elderly couple. Each story in the series has one of the bachelor’s participating in the bake-off as the focus.
My Review:
This is the third novel in the series and stars Romeo, the matchmaking cat! As you might guess from that, the story has many laugh out loud moments as Jillian Parker is the daughter of Romeo’s human - come on, cat’s always seem to choose the human they relate to rather than a human being their owner! Whilst cat sitting, Romeo, a house cat, makes a break for freedom - closely followed by a chasing Jillian racing through the snow and out onto the road. This is where Avery Wainwright, an injured rodeo star, is driving home and almost hits Jillian. The two have a history. After his parents were tragically killed in a car crash, he raised his younger siblings with Jillian acting as their housekeeper and carer. She always loved him but he never showed any interest in being more than her employer. Now the youngsters have left home, he’s usually riding the rodeo circuit and she’s just set herself up in business so she’s determined not to succumb again. However, his sister has entered him into the Bachelor Bake-Off. He can’t not support such a great community cause but he needs help and turns to Jillian for lessons in baking. Working together again, could this prove to be their recipe for love?
This story has great characters, a real sense of humour, plenty of angst and turmoil and is a fantastic read. I thoroughly enjoyed escaping into it and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys romantic comedies with an injured cowboy and independent but loving lady. There will be a few burnt offerings and mix ups on their spicy journey but, with Romeo’s help, baking will prove their recipe for romance and the ending is swoon worthy!

I found this a rather underwhelming read. It starts out quite promising and stars a couple of very cute cats, but Avery and Jillian did nothing to win me over and the lack of bake-off content made the whole thing drag and feel quite tedious at times.
Let’s start with Jillian. She’s a jewellery maker opening her first shop, which could have been so exciting, but her lack of creativity sucked all the joy out of it for me. But it was her immature reactions to Avery that annoyed me most. After the tragic death of Avery’s parents, he employed Avery as a housekeeper/nanny to help bring up his teenage twin siblings while he worked his fingers to the bone and earned extra money at rodeos. So far, so selfless from both of them, but Jillian has always had a crush on Avery, so she tried to ask him out once, but he turned her down. Then, after the twins had left home, she expected… I don’t even know what. When it didn’t materialise this made Avery a terrible villain who broke her heart and destroyed her dreams.
Except he never led her on. He never showed any sign of attraction to her. He was her employer, and yes, they are both young and have been friends for ages, but that doesn’t automatically mean their lives should forever be entwined. Jillian (and others) completely fail to realise that she is responsible for her own feelings and Avery never did anything wrong. I never even felt any kind of friendship between them, so the idea that they were such a cute couple that everyone assumed were dating never quite worked for me.
Not that Avery is perfect, because really he’s a mess. He starts this book injured and sad because now he can’t earn the money he needs to fulfill his dream of owning his own ranch. Yet, somehow, throughout this book it becomes unclear if rodeoing is actually his dream or just a way to earn money, while owning a ranch seems like a second choice option that means he has to finally settle down. He’s massively inconsistent with this and his feelings towards Jillian. I don’t blame him for her feelings when they were younger, but he’s all over the place now when it comes to her and what he does – or doesn’t – want from their relationship. Plus his injury was a something of nothing. Kind of like his rodeo career. He does not make a convincing cowboy.
Throw in the lack of fun baking and this book really didn’t win me over. Jillian needs to grow up and Avery needs to sit down and figure out exactly what it is he wants. The only good thing is Romeo and Marshmallow’s cute little romance. Here’s hoping the next book is more focused on the competition.

I like stories with happy endings and if it is second chances, all the more better. The characters are well developed and flawed too. Then there are the cats, Romeo and Marshmallow, who also have a role to play in the story. The back stories of the characters have been developed beautifully and that helped me understand the characters better. I loved the meddling by Beth.
The story is simple, well written and flowed nicely. The scenes have been described in detail. I’m definitely looking forward to reading more Bachelor Bake-Off books written by different authors revolving around a baking competition for a noble cause.
Though this is the third book in the series, still it can be read as a stand alone.

Friends to lovers is one of my favorite romance tropes. Jennifer Faye did a good job of bringing friends Jillian Parker and Avery Wainwright together. These two fall in love as Jillian teaches Avery how to bake. Sprinkled with Love is the first book in the Tangled Charms series and the standalone third book in the Bachelor Bake-Off series.

While reading the other stories of Bachelor Bake-Off series, I've learned that male character of this book is the bachelor sponsored by Harry Monroe's family, the name that major in the making of the Bake-Off event. And so I was kinda expecting there'd be quite a bit of Monroe factor prominent in this book. I couldn't be more wrong. But that's not the major issue.
Of the stories I read so far, Sprinkled with Love has the least bake-off substance in it. It's not necessarily a bad thing. Like the others, Avery got roped into participating in the event despite his lack of baking skill. This bachelor turned to old friend Jillian to help tutoring him. So yeah, the bake-off still played a part in bringing these two friends together. Somewhat. What - or who - the real trigger was actually Romeo, the cat. It could've been a cute and romantic tale. If only I love the MCs.
The story's off to a good start and I actually liked Avery at first. Bear with me, this is gonna be a long one...
After the death of his parents Avery took care the role of guardian to his two younger siblings seriously (with some help from Jillian as the youngsters's nanny). His siblings, rodeo career, and work at Crooked S Ranch were his focus; he was oblivious that Jillian bore a feeling for him.
The story started a few months after the siblings gone to college and military and Jillian no longer worked for the family. When he met her again, courtesy of Romeo the cat, he began to notice Jillian and the sparks between them. This guy loved his family so much he's willing to do anything for them; who wouldn't love that kind of guy!!
But then as the story goes, Avery started to act - in my opinion - weird, fickle, and judgy. He let anything - and I mean ANYTHING - affect his judgement and decisions on things! So, no. He's not a true cowboy material for me. Jillian was still an okay character; a bit too affected by town-gossips but still showed some spines; still want to help making things right.
The crux of the matter here is Avery. His fickleness made the story run around in circles; I don't want to settle down, do I want to settle down? I shouldn't make a move on Jillian, I'm gonna get her to accept me, I don't deserve her, I will not give up, she still had feelings for that guy, I'll leave town and go back to rodeo. That was the bulk of the story to me. It's really exhausting to follow Avery changes of fragile feelings. He really made this entry to the series felt overly long.
Plus, the pacing of the story is erratic; I lost track of the sequence in some of the scenes. And frankly, I don't really need the epilogue to confirm the happy ending. The hurried (and anticlimactic) last chapter was more than enough for that.
At least there is the kiteh! Thank gads for Romeo (and Marshmallow) who made the hero's acting out rather bearable for me. The cats earned special point for them alone. Sad really; I thought I was gonna love this book!

Wit and Sin
Sprinkled with Love is a sweet story with a lot of potential. There’s a lot to like about Jennifer Faye’s Bachelor Bake-Off story. Jillian and Avery are good-hearted protagonists who are easy to root for, and when you add in a couple of hilarious cats, it’s clear that this story has the makings of a feel-good romance.
When Avery and Jillian are on the same page, Sprinkled with Love made me smile. They have an easy chemistry and a solid history that means their love story should have unfolded in an organic manner. However, while all the elements are there, the story is dragged down by general miscommunication, the dreaded “big misunderstanding,” a lot of unnecessary push-pull, waffling about big life decisions that didn’t always make sense, and an abrupt ending. I was never quite sure what Avery wanted, likely because a lot of the time he didn’t know what he wanted. As for Jillian, she fell for Avery when she worked for him before, but he never made a move on her (which made sense to me, given that she was a live-in babysitter and housekeeper in his employ). That her feelings were hurt made sense, but it felt wrong that she (and others) seemed to blame him because half the town assumed she was waiting for him to marry her back then. Little things like these picked away at my enjoyment of the story, which was a pity because I really wanted to love Sprinkled with Love . With a bit more fleshing out and a bit less back-and-forth and false drama, the story could have gone from ok to great. As it stands, Ms. Faye’s writing has enough charm to make the story entertaining even when I was frustrated with Jillian and Avery. And of course, the story is also buoyed by the antics of the lovelorn Romeo and Marshmallow, the previously mentioned scene-stealing cats. Overall, Sprinkled with Love was a bit hit-and-miss for me, but I’m definitely looking forward to reading more Bachelor Bake-Off books and I will be looking for more of Ms. Faye’s work in the future.

Sprinkled with Love is a sweet story with a lot of potential. There’s a lot to like about Jennifer Faye’s Bachelor Bake-Off story. Jillian and Avery are good-hearted protagonists who are easy to root for, and when you add in a couple of hilarious cats, it’s clear that this story has the makings of a feel-good romance.
When Avery and Jillian are on the same page, Sprinkled with Love made me smile. They have an easy chemistry and a solid history that means their love story should have unfolded in an organic manner. However, while all the elements are there, the story is dragged down by general miscommunication, the dreaded “big misunderstanding,” a lot of unnecessary push-pull, waffling about big life decisions that didn’t always make sense, and an abrupt ending. I was never quite sure what Avery wanted, likely because a lot of the time he didn’t know what he wanted. As for Jillian, she fell for Avery when she worked for him before, but he never made a move on her (which made sense to me, given that she was a live-in babysitter and housekeeper in his employ). That her feelings were hurt made sense, but it felt wrong that she (and others) seemed to blame him because half the town assumed she was waiting for him to marry her back then. Little things like these picked away at my enjoyment of the story, which was a pity because I really wanted to love Sprinkled with Love . With a bit more fleshing out and a bit less back-and-forth and false drama, the story could have gone from ok to great. As it stands, Ms. Faye’s writing has enough charm to make the story entertaining even when I was frustrated with Jillian and Avery. And of course, the story is also buoyed by the antics of the lovelorn Romeo and Marshmallow, the previously mentioned scene-stealing cats. Overall, Sprinkled with Love was a bit hit-and-miss for me, but I’m definitely looking forward to reading more Bachelor Bake-Off books and I will be looking for more of Ms. Faye’s work in the future.

Wonderful story of love between two people who kept missing out on a relationship due to timing. Some things are too hard to deny: two cats keep matchmaking, a baking contest for one to tutor the other, and the stars finally align, there's no reason to continue to fight the bond and chemistry. Once they open their eyes and hearts to the possibility, they finally find a forever love. Fantastic read!

Jennifer Faye has a confectionery delight on her hands with Sprinkled with Love. Avery and Jillian, lest we not forget Romeo the cat are the sweetest blend of sugar and spice and a few hardcore life lessons are fit in along the way. Both have to learn to take risks and appreciate the blessings ahead of them instead of the sorrows in their pasts. Factor in small town living with a hosts of helping hands that are as adorable as they are nosy and you have a charming piece of heaven wrapped up in a tiny bundle.

The third book in the Bachelor Bake-Off series had a more somber tone to it then the first two books. There was quite a lot of push/pull between Avery and Jillian...the two misconstruing, making false assumptions about the other, and generally looking at each other in the wrong light, which was frustrating at times. If they'd just come out and asked, or spoke their mind, the false assumptions would never occurred. But I suppose that is the point the author was trying to get across. The drama of the story centered more about Avery and Jillian thinking wrongly about each other a majority of the time definitely took the limelight off the bake-off and the message it carried in the other stories.
Overall, the story was well written, flowing smoothly and quickly, with much less of the light heartedness of the other books in the series. It also had much less of the backstory about the bake-off fundraiser and the other bachelors participating in the event, leaving much of that dimension out of the story and making it more of a stand alone then part of the series set in Marietta, Montana. Nothing happens. There's no reason for Jillian and Avery to get together. No chemistry. No angst. Nada. It was boring.
And I didn't like Avery.

After an accident puts Avery Wainwright out of action for four to six weeks, he finds himself back in Marietta and entered in the town's Bachelor Bake-off by his sister. Not knowing a thing about baking, he turns to the one person he knows he can always rely on, Jillian Parker. Will Avery finally realize that Jillian is the one person he can't live without, or will history repeat itself?
This is the second book I've read by Ms. Faye, and just like the first book, I absolutely loved it. The way this story started had me rolling my eyes at Jillian's mom because of how she treats her cat. Seriously, it was like she thought of the pet as a second child and I could understand why the heroine reacts the way she does towards her mother. Not only because of the cat but because of what her mother has to say about her non-existent dating life since calling things off with her boyfriend. However, what I liked most about the beginning was how the hero and heroine came face-to-face for the first time in this story. Let's just say, luckily, Avery is a good driver.
As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the main characters back stories, the history between these two that left Jillian a bit heart-broken because it seemed Avery didn't return her feelings in the past, and everything these two go through on their journey to happy ever after. Including a mother's disapproval of Jillian getting close with Avery again; whether the hero can come up with the money to buy the ranch he wants; an ex-boyfriend that wants the heroine back for reasons I desperately wanted to know; surviving the wedding where Jillian is likely to be ganged up on by her family; and the decision Avery faces on whether he'll stay in Marietta or return to his rodeo career. However, there were some light-hearted moments that had me smiling, because once Avery commits to the bake-off, he wants to do his best.
Both the main characters entertained me from start to finish with their back stories and their growing relationship. Jillian is spirited, independent and I could understand why she was so hesitant to give Avery a chance. First, she has an ex-boyfriend she needs to deal with and then because of what happened in the past between her and Avery, she's worried it'll happen all over again. His rejection really hurt her in the past. Moreover, I liked how she was willing to help Avery with learning how to bake. He needs her, as it's palpable he doesn't know the first thing about baking.
While Avery, I felt sorry for him because of the guilt he's felt over what happened to his parents. He needed to realize that what happened wasn't his fault, if he was ever to be truly happy. Then there's the big decisions he has to make. Will he leave Marietta and return to the rodeo circuit? Will he be able to buy the ranch he wants? Will he take a chance with Jillian? His point-of-view really drew me in because of the choices he did end up making.
Overall, Ms. Faye has penned a fantastic read in this book, encompassing two wonderful characters that have an undeniable chemistry, a fast-paced plot that I couldn't get enough of and secondary characters that I enjoyed because of their need to match-make, especially Jillian's best friend. The way this story ended had me cheering for this couple's happy ever after, because of the decision Avery made about whether he'd leave Marietta or stay. Could he give up Jillian just because he was too stubborn to do what his sister wanted him to do? I would recommend Sprinkled with Love by Jennifer Faye, if you enjoy the matchmaker trope or books by authors Shirley Jump, Melissa McClone and Kate Hardy.

This is the third book in the Bachelor Bake-Off series. Each book is written by a different author and revolves around a charity baking competition involving some of the eligible bachelors in Marietta, Montana. Of course, since we're talking romance, do we really think all of these bachelors will remain bachelors once the authors are done with them?
In Sprinkled with Love , we follow bachelor Avery who is cowboy who is home recovering from a rodeo injury. He gets roped into participating in the Bake Off and turns to Jillian for help. These two have an interesting history. When Avery's parents passed away, Jillian stepped in to help Avery with his siblings by being a nanny. There was always some tension between the two of them, but with Jillian's role with the family and her younger age, nothing happened. Now a few years later, the run into each other, friendship resumes and well, you guessed it, romance blossoms.
Avery's newly home, dealing with rodeo injuries, remodeling the family home and a meddling younger sister who is the reason he's now in the bake-off. Jillian has just opened her own shop and is dealing with a matchmaking mother.... and once Avery reenters the picture, she's having to deal with resurfacing feelings.
I'll admit, that there were moments when I wanted to hit these two as their internal thoughts went around and around. But that's a pretty common theme in romance novels, so I can forgive it. In the end, I liked both characters and was rooting for them to get over their objections and finally get together. And of course, in addition to cheering on their romance, I wanted all their dreams to come true and for the bake off to be a success.
While this isn't my favorite book by Jennifer Faye, it is a solid read and a good addition to the Bachelor Bake-Off series. I'd recommend reading this story if you enjoy small town romances.

The plot sounded promising, but Sprinkled with Love failed to hold my attention.
I never felt a connection with either of the main characters and, more importantly, I never felt a strong connection between them.
Jillian keeps saying she's over Avery but then we discover she's still in love with him. The she still had a crush on him sounds about right. But love? I was not convinced.
And Avery is a walking disaster. For a man who raised his siblings basically alone I would have expected him to be confident in his abilities and have clear views on which direction he wants to steer his live. Instead, he seems unable to make decisions. He wants Jillian, but he doesn't want to share her views of the future; he wants to buy the ranch, but then he decides to let it go and go back to the rodeo circuit instead; he decides to sell the house and then balks at the last minute. After all of that, how could I believe he really wanted Jillian and a family of his own?
I also found the writing a bit repetitive in places, and too many cliches throughout the book. It is a clean, sweet romance story, but it doesn't stand out in any way, so I can't bring myself to rate it with more than three stars.

First time reading this author and I enjoy her style of writing.
Very descriptive, detailed scenes and caring.
Starts out with Jillian and she finally wons the Tangled Charms Bakery where she also sells her designer jewelry.
She's heavily involved with town events to benefit charities. Her business partner and friend Suzanne also is part owner.
Avery is recovering from his accident at the rodeo and he somehow gets roped into entering the bachelor bakeoff to raise money for Harry's House, a local charity.
His sister Beth gets her hand into things and before you know it Jillian is teaching Avery how to cook.
Like this book for many reasons: you can do what you want in a recipe-not follow the instructions exactly or substitute for other ingredients. Like horse drawn carriage ride, hot chocolate episodes, the cats are to die for!

This was a sweet (see what I did there?) story about a possible second chance romance. Jillian has started a new business with her best friend and has also moved into her mother's in-law quarters (a detached house on the same lot). Of course her mother is determined that her Jillian's finger not be bare for long. Avery is back in town with an injury and runs into Jillian, literally. Well almost. Jillian is chasing her mother's black cat Romeo as Avery is driving up in the dark. Avery needs Jillian's help and Jillian needs to steer clear of Avery.
A good story worth a re-read. And reading the other books in the series!

Avery Wainwright comes back to Marietta recuperating from an injury he suffered at the rodeo. Jillian Parker's cat Romeo ran out the door into the icy road and was almost hit by Avery. Avery's sister signs him up for a Bachelor Bake-Off contest and asks Jillian for her help. While Jillian is teaching Avery some baking skills he pursues her romantically but she resists him. This is a sweet love story of two people Jillian and Avery who keep missing out on a love relationship due to bad timing. I really enjoyed this sweet romantic fiction novel.

This was an enjoyable read,and cute with the theory that the cat was playing matchmaker for Jillian and Avery.
The story has charm and shows how the characters work at making their dreams come true, and yet kinda lags as Avery can't decide if he feels more than just gratitude and friendship for Jillian.
Oh and if your following the bachelor bake off there is some of that in there to.

This was a cute romance book about the couple that was in the last book I read. I did not realize this book was from the same series because it was called the bake-off bachelor series on the one I read. But it didn't matter that I read the other book first. This showed me how they got together. Highly recommended.

Jennifer is an author that writes just wonderful love stories and this one was just that. This was a really good romance and it draws you in right in the beginning of the book. Jennifer hit a grand slam with this book.

Awesome story!
I fell in love with this story! Anything cowboy reminds me of growing up in a small ranch! The bake off brought back the memory of my cousins first attempt at baking a lemon pie, how did he get flour on the ceiling? Wonderful book!

Frustrating
I just couldn't get into this. The "hero" was so back and fourth, he wants her, he doesn't want that type of life, he's not good enough, urrggghhh I just wanted to smack him upside the head and yell at him to get a grip.
