Love by the Numbers #4

Four-Footed Matchmaker

Rate this book
It ain't easy being related to a movie star--until fate intervenes and I land an audition to become the lead singer of America's favorite rock band, Wylde Ryder, just when I meet the woman of my dreams...

Benjamin Breck has lived in his older, famous brother's shadow his whole life. Now the elementary school music teacher is catapulted into the same spotlight--and realizes fame requires a lot more than he'd expected. Sometimes fame isn't everything. But singing has always been his dream and he's not about to let this one die. Unfortunately his home life, including his rescued bulldog Tinkerbell, have other plans.
Tasked with hunting down the wanna-be rocker, introverted cat-lover Cree Williams can't believe her new job lands her in the front pages--defending Ben from his nosy neighbors, and protecting herself from the charming crooner's advances. As a new attorney working for DeSilva's record label, she doesn't have time for romance--especially not with a client.
But the more Cree advises Ben, the bigger the trouble surrounding him and Tinkerbell grows. When an enemy from the DeSilva's family resurfaces, intent on destroying Ben's dreams, Cree's job and reputation are on the line, as much as the fledgling rock star's. Can Ben and Cree untangle this mess in time to save themselves and their FOUR-FOOTED MATCHMAKER?

Ben is the new lead singer of Wylde Ryder, twin to James Breck the famous movie star and formerly a music teacher. Cree is a new contracts litigator at Silverstreak one of Marco DeSilva's (Ben's new agent) new branches. Ben falls hard for Cree the moment he sees her, whereas having been hurt in the past Cree is more cautious. Ben however is persistent and the apartment problems he has been having give him a good excuse to spend time with Cree under the ruse of needing professional advice and help. Each chapter is told alternately between the two characters POV. This was an OK read but didn't really hold my attention. Note: this story can be read as a standalone.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

I absolutely love J.A. Coffey's Love by the Numbers series and this is no exception. This can be read as a standalone, but all the books in this series are fantastic reads. Ben is the new lead singer for Wylde Ryder and Cree is the contract litigator for Silverstreak, one of Marco DeSilva's new branches. Ben meets Cree in the park, while walking Tink and is instantly captivated by her. She has been hurt in the past and decides not to mix business and pleasure again. Will Ben wear down her walls or will Cree stick to her decision? I loved the suspense in this book and I was surprised by who the culprit was. Well done, J.A. Coffey! I can't wait to read the next book in this series. One-click your copy and fall in love with Ben and his adorable Tink.

I received an advance reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

This is full of mystery and drama. The storyline is intriguing and the characters are interesting. It's a good story, but not quite as good as the rest of the series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest opinion of it.
