Fandom: Harry Potter
Relationships: Draco Malfoy/Harry Potter, Hermione Granger/Ron Weasley
--------------------------------------------------
Harry doesn’t mind that so many Slytherins from his year have returned to finish their NEWTs, really he doesn’t. It’s just – do they have to be so friendly? He’s not prejudiced, really he’s not. It’s just – they’ve got to be up to something, right? Unnerved by the attention he’s attracting from everyone – the Slytherins are the least of it, to be fair – and struggling with a raft of changes to Hogwarts itself, Harry wishes he could be happy that one constant remains: Draco Malfoy really fucking hates him.

When he’s hit by an illegal love-spell though, Harry finds he has more to worry about than whether or not Blaise Zabini actually wants to be his friend. For if everyone affected has been blessed – or cursed, by the look on Malfoy’s face – with a magical tattoo revealing the name of their soulmate, what does it mean that Harry’s skin remains completely bare?

I read this in one day straight, not sleeping, not eating, that is how fucking awesome this book was.

God, how I loved snarky, scheming Blaise! (And all the other Slytherins for that matter.) But honestly, Blaise is hands down the most intriguing and fun (2ndary) character here.

I'm usually not much of a fan of the whole 'resorting Harry to Slytherin' trope, but here it totally worked. No, more than that. It was perfect.

All in all, a hilarious, fun, sometimes a bit angsty read that is by far (as far as I can tell from what I've already read) the best work of this year's H/D Erised fest.

Drarry fanfic.

Doesn't have a post battle feel about it, but liked this version of the characters. Plot is a little thin but great seeing Slytherin shenanigans. A lot less PC than the books with swearing and some other activities. Blaise rather steals the show. Some giggles along the way, well worth a look.

An untypical soulmate story, and really, really slow burn. (They even didn't make to the final step!) Still, the author did a great job at depicting how Harry got along with other Slytherins, and though it's unclear that when and why Draco fell in love for Harry (probably from the beginning?), it's clear that he was struggling against his feelings, yet couldn't well suppress it, which was adorable. All those small yet important things he did for Harry, it's so sweet.

Although in the end, it's kind of full of cliche, I love for it anyway. It would be nice if there was less awkwardness, but well... I suppose it just happens naturally when you try to be civil to your rivals-turn-to-roommates.

This was HILARIOUS!!!
I loved the story, the writing stile, the crazy ideas. This Harry is still immature though a little grown. His internal dialogue was very realistic and true to his character.
Draco is perfect, as always. I would have liked to read from his POV, I know he was struggling.
My favorite thing was the Slytherin gang! An unhinged Zabini, the bold and unashamed Millicent, sexy and loyal Pansy, considerate Greg and weird Theo.
It was perfect!

What I loved: Blaise f*cking Zabini, muggle excursions, soul marks, WANK PARTIES! and inappropriate pensive memories 😂😂

sort of 8th year Drarry

Some intriguing elements here: 8th year here is more like 9th year, as they took until summer of the year after the final battle to finish repairs on the castle. So Harry's been working as an honorary Auror for the past year, and has a harder time returning to being a student. Especially when McGonagall announces during the welcoming feast that

I’m such a WHO-LA-HOOP fangirl!!!! Seriously, they write the funniest fucking fics!!! With an actual plot. And some steam. And I just can’t stop LAUGHING! Not sure how many times I’ve paused, shaken my e-reader and gone “omfg I can’t even, why are you all so bloody AWKWARD?!?!” Ah, bless.

While a love Drarry, Blaise Zabini is the star of this particular fic! I just, he’s...Gahh I can’t even ok.

This though, at a fancy restaurant, when the waiter pours some wine into Harry’s glass to try:

’The waiter pours about an inch into Harry’s glass, and then waits. Harry presumes he’s being asked to try it, and so does so. It tastes like wine, so he nods, and the waiter pours more out into first his glass, then Malfoy’s.
“Yep, definitely wine,” he says, when the waiter’s gone. “I can tell by the taste.” ‘

Why is this so (uncomfortably) relatable?!

I love FanFiction. It’s amazing. It gives me something to laugh at and leaves me with a warm an fuzzy feeling when the real world sucks—escapism at its finest.

Harry doesn’t have time to feel pleased there’s no longer an elbow in his face, though, because Zabini – who seems to have more cheek than an Erumpent’s arse – leans back in his seat and spreads his legs, as if he’s settling in for the long haul.

Well, Harry’s not putting up with that. He’s going to . . . He’s going to . . . cringe away from Blaise Zabini’s warm, muscled thigh, as if being Slytherin is contagious, and clonk his elbow against the window in the process, like a massive twat.

“Ow,” Harry says, making the whole situation infinitely more dignified, and looks over to Hermione in mute appeal. Ron seems to have been struck equally dumb, so it’s clearly down to her to tell Zabini to fuck off.

I'm usually a big fan of Who La Hoop's fanfictions, but I just couldn't get into this one. I found that the writing style made it really hard to follow the story.

Written on the Heart is the third fanfic i read by author Who_la_whoop, but sadly it was my least favorite one. It was an 8th year story where Harry gets resorted into Slytherin, and tries not to die in the process. He ends up becoming friends with the Slytherins, joining them in their adventures as they have been forced to take the Muggle studies class, and the homework is to go on quests to the Muggle world.

One night, an ill-fated encounter near the Forbidden Forest results in disaster, as a mysterious stranger casts a curse on Harry, Ron, Hermione and Draco. The curse is meant to show your soulmark: it reveals the person you’re meant to be with. Ron and Hermione have each other written with fawns and little hearts… and Harry has no one. Does that mean he’s fated to end up alone?

The worst part of the riddle? Draco sodding Malfoy’s soulmark is Harry himself.

As they endeavour to discover the secrets behind the soulmark and how to erase the curse, Harry and Draco grow closer and irrevocably fall in love.

It was a rlly cute story!!! I especially adored Blaise’s humour, and the relationship between Harry and Draco. Harry washing Draco’s hair was peak comedy aisjdjfjjf and them dining on a restaurant and Harry being like…. What are we? Lol

However, the plot was a bit lackluster, and the writing at times was confusing and not very good quality. The ending was also very rushed, and the reveal of the plot twists was so underwhelming. So all in all, I was a bit bored at times, but I still enjoyed the story.

I didn't have enough. This story was so good I wanted so much more, more time with Harry and Draco to fall in love, and be a couple, and go to strange muggle dates. I love the way their feelings developed, how you couldn't pinpoint the moment when they were in love. It just was slow and natural and perfect. I loved it.
I had two theory about the spell. The first was that it was not a soulmark spell but a spell that shows who you're currently in love with. I was so certain that Draco's name would have appeared later on Harry's skin. Well I was wrong. (I'm kind of sure that Draco was in love with Harry before everything.)
I was right for my second theory, though! That Harry hadn't been hit by the spell.
I love the way the author write emotion and dialogue, it feels true and right, and I've noted in my head some of the way they write emotional sentences for my own writing.

A very well-written and original take on the soulmarks trope, with wit, high emotion, low humour (mainly of the male sort), excellent multifaceted characterizations, and sometimes surprising but always believable interactions (frequently involving several Slytherins), including plenty of sympathetic awkwardness.
No brilliant paragon Harry here, just a young man trying to figure out what he really wants — and what Malfoy (and his Housemates) are thinking, sometimes making bad decisions while flailing against the circumstances he finds himself in, both re. his unwanted even-greater fame and re. the soulmates spell.

Era muy físico y sexual, didn´t like that

Me ha gustado:

Los personajes estaban muy bien conseguidos, las relaciones entre los slytherin ha sido top. Hermione y Ron estaban muy bien conseguidos. La historia tmb estaba bien.

Um…it was fine. It wasn’t ground breaking, but it wasn’t bad. The writing was pretty good, not nothing special. The ending felt a little rushed and the build up of the relationship wasn’t that good. One problem I have with slow-burn is that it’s not often done well. Often times, the relationship isn’t build up properly, and it just takes time for them to get together without tension and angst. The premise was enjoyable.

Who La Hoop

Tropes:
– Draco/Harry fanfic
– Enemies to lovers
– Soulmate spell
– Pining for days

A reckless soulmate spell has Harry's name written in ABRASIVE font on Draco. But what does it mean that Harry has nothing?

Wow, this author’s writing is so so so good. so witty and funny and really true to the original characters?? Something about a pining Draco and Harry realizing there were feelings all along and the Hogwarts setting just feels like home to me. Plus, Harry being re-sorted into Slytherin was such a fun twist as we see characters we don't normally interact with much. As Harry and Draco try to find the counter curse, their reluctant partnership turns into more as Harry realizes that his name all over Draco might not be such a surprise after all.

Admittedly, it takes a while to get into (I felt the same about Star Quality) and I wish we got to see more of them actually together at the end since it all comes together at like literally 97% but I stayed up until 2 am to read this because I didn’t want to put it down so do what you will with that information!

great start, then a couple of chapters where I hated absolutely everyone: the evil Slytherins, Blaise the tosser, Harry and his selfdoubt and even lovestruck Hermione, only Ron was being himself. All their actions annoyed me so much that I nearly DNF. But it soon went uphill again and thank fuck for that, because this did make me laugh quite a bit. so 4* from me

1.5 🌶️

I’m on a Drarry soulmates kick right now and of the fics I’ve read this is by far the weakest, I wasn’t a big fan of the writing style and the plot was pretty lacking. Cute don’t get me wrong, but I’d pick a lot of others over this one.
