A Taste of Chocolate
In this romantic sizzler from newcomer, Aqiyla, comes a tale of girlfriends and the issues they face.
Rosalyn (The Motivator) – Roz is a criminal defense attorney and has just been promoted to a senior partner with her law firm. Her humility and dedication to her family, friends and loved ones is parallel to her beauty and strength. Even though she seems to have it all, the one thing that she doesn’t have is love. She has been in an on again off again tumultuous relationship with her drug dealing boyfriend James for the past 10 years. Between James' infedility, his three baby mama’s and Rosalyn’s broken heart she runs herself thin trying to make their relationship work. When devastation hits her two best friends at the same time Rosalyn takes charge as always and handles it like she does her court cases. Will James finally grow up and be the man that he needs to be for his “hot chocolate” or will their epic love saga finally end?
Lala (The Sexy Boss) - Lala is the definition of a southern red bone. She is loud, attention seeking, feisty and always gets what she wants. She loves money, herself and most importantly sex. She uses her body on her quest to find love but she is looking in all of the wrong places. Although she can get any man she wants, she can’t get the love and respect from James’ best friend Q, who is also her baby father. They have a “situationship” in which he drops off child support weekly, has sex with her and ignores both her and her daughter until he is ready for his next fix from his favorite girl. When tragedy hits Lala it sends her spiraling into a self-destructive alcohol, sex and drug induced binge. Will Q step up and finally be there for the mother of his child or will it be too late to save her even from herself?
Morgan (The Strong One) - Morgan is a hardworking mother and fiercely loyal to her man. She is the mediator between the women and always goes with the flow. Morgan was working, handling her own and in nursing school when she met Desmond. Like so many he was charming at first, but when she becomes pregnant with their second child his monstrous side is exposed. In order to take care of her family and her man, she puts her dream of being a nurse on hold and takes up a full time job as a manager at a fast food restaurant. She is desperately trying to hold her family together working twelve hour shifts and praying that he will go back to the man she fell in love with. Will she finally realize her worth and leave Desmond and his abusive, controlling ways, or will she lose her life trying to escape from the love of her life?

EXTRAORDINARILY BREATHTAKING WORK OF ART
I took my time reading this book and I'm glad I did. Baby when u tell you I cried so hard, I felt the pain, the betrayal, the hurt, the love, the joy. I felt every emotion expressed in this book. I identified with the relationship between Roz, LaLa, and Morgan because I too have 2 best friends who are my world. I identified with Morgan as a victim of domestic violence or intimate partner violence. I understood what she felt not wanting to tell anyone for fear of judgement so she suffered in silence. I understood how LaLa felt not having her parents around and wanting the love of her parents. Being raised by my grandmother who gave me the world it was great but still something was missing and that was mom. I felt the pain, abandonment, and rejection she felt. JESUS as I write this review it is through tears so forgive me if I miss a coma, or misspell a word. Roz I understood how she felt always having to be the strong one when will someone be strong for me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ is not nearly enough to describe this book. Congratulations on this success you now have a fan, supporter for life.

Just Too Much... You'll see!
This story and all the characters were at times overwhelming. I liked the premise and the theory. The abundance of characters gave life to telling this story. James and Rosalyn started out in the central hero's and heroine roles. Morgan and Lala, and then their men Q and Desmond added to this poignant story. Lots of drama, betrayal, unprotected sex, and drug usage permeated the pages of their stories. This was my first read for this author. I'm flummoxed as to what's next for this author. How will she exceed expectations for the next novel.

Tear Jerker
Wonderful story of three friends and life. I love how the author used the tragedy to shine light on an issue that is prevalent with our young ladies. Roz showed so much strength and let love lead the way.

A nice, real story
This story was a nice, cautionary tale. The three women were the best of friends. I loved how la la, Roz, and Morgan were so close and supportive of each other. Their sister hood was real. The trials and tribulations they all went through were real and emotional at times. I did get teary eyed towards the end. Good job

Amazing
This book was excellent and I cried my eyes out the second half of this book! I felt really connected to lala and felt her pain!!!! Aqiyla has a gift with writing and I am blessed to read her work!! I admire Morgans strength and how good of a friend Rosalyn was!!! The character growth and plot development was excellent!!

This is definitely one of my favorites. The characters are so relatable and real. I was really surprised by how emotional this book made me. I was hooked from the beginning and could not put this book down. Hands down one of the best and most memorable black authors out there. I can't wait to read more from Aqiyla. Will be sure to by the hard copy when available.
