This was a nice paced book, kept me turning to see what was next. It surprised me in the end. And gasped. This was an excellent read. I recommend it to all.
I did not know what to expect reading this book. I was happily surprised. It was really well written and had great twists. I had not read anything before by Erica Hale but am looking forward to reading more from her. Thank you UniqueWords for recommending this book to me. I think if you like a book that will keep you captured this is the book for you.
This was book was recommended by UniqueWords . This is a very insightful read. With what's going on in the world today this book gives us a look on the inside so to speak. Ethan and Scarlett works well together even with this smoldering chemistry.
Except for the lack of editing (at a point it became distracting), this is a good slow burn domestic thriller featuring a unique cast of characters. I really (really!!!) liked Ethan.
The premise is simple - cops are being killed and 2 agents (one former) are trying to solve the case. The plot is nothing short of inventive and highly probable.
I would not recommend this for readers of market urban fiction, as this will not deliver the gritty plot often sought.
This is for serious readers of domestic thrillers. If you liked Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult and can deal with poor editing, you may enjoy this book.
Erica Hale's suspense thriller Invisible Empire was not a thrill ride for me. The writing was rough, it appeared that the author was attempting to make a particular word count. The dialogue, especially in the beginning, was awkward. While the story was hard-hitting regarding what is happening in our society today, it did not draw me in. This could have been a really awesome story.
Would I recommend this book? No. The book was recommended to me by UniqueWords.
Good, yet too complex to understand during the first half of the story
This book took me way too long to grasp at first. It didn't help with all of the grammar, constant misspelling and pronunciation issues slowing the process down. Nonetheless, the last couple of chapters definitely helped bring everything together and made it all become much more clearer. I admire miss Erica on her journey and endeavors. Keep writing sis and if you ever need anyone to proof read your work, most definitely HIT ME UP! 😉😘💜👏💋 Much luv!
