Justice for Mackenzie

Daxton Chambers, a member of the oldest and most distinguished law enforcement agency in the state of Texas, never understood why people killed. But this new case, where someone was kidnapping and burying women alive, is a whole new level of depravity. As a Texas Ranger, it’s his job to keep San Antonio safe, but the killer always seems to be one step ahead of him.

Meeting Mackenzie, and finding out just how perfect she is for him, wasn’t part of Dax’s plan…but he’ll be damned if he’s going to walk away from the most interesting and fun woman he’s met in a long time. Unfortunately, anyone Dax cares about is suddenly in danger. It’ll take every ounce of knowledge he’s gained from years in law enforcement to keep Mack alive.

Justice for Mickie

For Cruz Livingston, becoming an FBI agent is a lifelong dream, guarding the streets of San Antonio a calling. His latest assignment—infiltrating the Red Brothers Motorcycle Club—will help stem the flow of illegal drugs brought into the city by the violent gang. He expects the job to be dangerous. He doesn’t expect to meet the woman of his dreams while undercover.

Mickie Kaiser is refreshingly sweet, but her sister is intimately involved with the RBMC’s president. Cruz can’t afford to come clean about his double life without putting his operation in danger, but as violence creeps ever closer to Mickie, his priority becomes crystal clear. Cruz will do anything to keep Mickie alive…even if it means losing her love.

Justice for Corrie

Blind since birth, Corrie Madison relies on her other sharpened senses in her job as a chiropractor. Never did she imagine she’d have to depend on them to identify a killer. But when a man enters her practice, murdering everyone in his path, Corrie is the only witness—putting her directly in the killer’s crosshairs.

Officer Quint Axton wasn’t looking for love, or even a relationship, until he meets Corrie. She’s everything he wants—if he can keep her alive long enough to explore their mutual attraction. The threats on Corrie’s life are escalating. Surely a blind person is helpless against a ruthless killer?

Hardly. Corrie is about to prove that disabled does not equal defenseless.

Justice For Laine

Reluctantly taking her best friend’s place at a photo shoot, realtor Laine Parker expects to assist the photographer for the day...not drool over the volunteer model, Westin King. The Texas Ranger and real-life cowboy is hot-on-hot sexy, from the tips of his boots to the top of his Stetson. Despite her visceral reaction to the man, the last thing Laine expects is a whirlwind romance—but that’s exactly what she gets.

Wes has been around the block enough to know what he wants, and he wants Laine. He wastes no time showing her how he feels...but he may never get the chance to tell her. Laine has disappeared, and it will take every connection Wes has—and a little help from a mangy stray—to get her back in his arms.

5 stars always

Susan Stoker was already the queen of military romantic suspense. This series begins her rise to the top of first responder romantic suspense and kicks off the massively successful world other writers have visited with their own books. If you haven't read these, what are you waiting for??

A collection that does it Justice😍

Book one: Justice fo Mackenzie

4.5 ⭐️ s for Justice!

I’ve only just recently finished a book by Susan that I read as an advanced copy on another series and decided to see if I could find the start to another series from her and found this book in my library. So I started reading and this book had me gripping the edge of my chair, my heart palpitating to the point of anxiety and also a bit of butterflies in my stomach! Dalton was an all around gentleman and I love him and Mackenzie together:) A word of advice keep some tissues close, but other than that there are moments that I laughed and also some intense scenes too!

I’m going to go buy myself the first volume in this series, so I can read Mickie and Cruz next😍

Book two: Justice for Mickie

A quick but intense read😁

Cruz goes undercover with the Red Brothers MC in the hopes of finding out where and how the drugs that the MC are bringing in and who their supplier is. He’s only supposed to be undercover for a short amount of time, but unfortunately things get complicated and quickly. He’s supposed to get close to Angel, the MC Prez’s girl but Cruz quickly discovers she doesn’t know much and then he meets her sister Mickie and everything changes😍

Mickie is trying to protect her sister Angel from Ransom, the MC President, but her sister ignores her and Mickie isn’t quite sure what to do. When she meets Cruz, her life changes in a good way but her sister is still her main concern.

A really intense and quick read, but I loved this story as it combined my favourite genres together💕

Book three: Justice for Corrie

Quint and Corrie❣️

The third book in the badge of honour series is like a breath of fresh air. Corrie is born blind and when she hears murders occurring in her place of work, she hides in a place not many would think to look! When she goes to meet her lawyer a week or so after the event, she meets Quint.

Quint is fascinated by this woman who is blind but also who takes no nonsense from anyone when he meets her😁 Hearing that this woman is potentially in danger, his protective instincts towards her kick in and he quickly wrangles a date out of her😍

A quick but intense read and I’m looking forward to more in this series and eventually getting around to reading Penelope’s story❣️

Book four: Justice for Laine

Laine finds herself a cowboy 🤠

Laine gets roped into overseeing the photoshoot with Wes, another Texas Ranger on his ranch! The chemistry is tangible when Laine sees Wes for the first time....and is super happy she filled in for Mack. Not wasting any time, Wes asks Laine out on a date💕

A novella length story which I read pretty quickly and I couldn’t help fall in love with a persistent cowboy much like Laine❣

I had to bail on this box set during book 1. The writing seemed really basic and awkward and there were so many things that annoyed me.

The heroine's chronic case of verbal diarrhoea was cringeworthy and she didn't come across as a woman in her mid to late thirties. I found her really annoying. In one situation the hero is telling the heroine about a past relationship where he had accepted another job in another city without first discussing it with his partner. That woman didn't want to move because she wanted to stay near her family and so they broke up. Fair enough. Not according to the heroine. She goes on about how Daxton (hero) made the right choice and how SHE would never make a man choose between their job and her. And she says 'if she truly loved you and knew it was what you wanted and what was best for you, she would've moved with you in a heartbeat'. So never mind that what the woman wanted was to stay with her family and if he loved her? In the heroine's eyes, the only correct compromise was the one where the hero got his way.

It was also really 'not like other girls'. Daxton was constantly thinking about all the ways Mack (heroine) was better than women he had previously dated. For example, 'Mack also wasn't afraid to admit when she screwed up, something Dax had rarely seen in the women he'd dated in the past'. And 'She also didn't seem to be full of the drama that so many women were these days, which was a relief'. This sort of thing featured heavily and it was tiresome. You can make the heroine interesting without taking a dump all over other women.

One scene that made me cringe hard was when the heroine was talking with the hero and another law enforcement person about the serial killer case they were working. Mack, a civilian with no investigative experience, stars asking why the killer does things the way he does. Including, 'But there has to be a reason. Nobody does things without having a reason'. Her dialogue goes on for ages but it was as if law enforcement had never heard of the concept of motive before. So silly.

I've wasted enough time on this but it's safe to say this series is not for me.

I love Susan Stoker's books. Some more that other, but at the end of each I am happy and satisfied. She researched her subjects and treats them well. I like that not everyone rich, beautiful and perfect.

Both the men and women have real life issues and disabilities, so its extra enjoyable reading about real world people. I don't expect serious issues to be analyzed, and treated as would be in the real world. These are characters is a book with around 200 to 300 pages to meet, develop a relationship, have a suspenseful event, and solve whatever problem. So if something is not handled like it would be in real life its okay with me.

I do have one very small issue and that is the word "cute". The men in Ms. Stoker's books use it a lot to discribe the women. Its begining to sound like they are discribing a dog.

Again on the whole I love her books. My biggest problem is deciding which book in which series to read next,

In the first book , we have Mackenzie and Dax. Mackenzie is a none stop chatter box and Dax adores her from the start. But this love story is not straight forward, a have a man who takes Mackenzie, loved this one

Second one , We meet Cruz a undercover FBI agent and Mickie who is looking for her sister in a MC. No sugar coating the MC members and MC life. Mickie's idea to look for her sister not the smartest but she meets Cruiz

Third one: This one is really lovely. Corrie is blind and is a very independent strong woman, who Quint falls for. Even though blind Corrie can help in a murder case.

Fourth one may be short but I so love Wes and Laine. When Laine disappears Wes's despair/pain is very clear

This is a brilliant book. The leading lady is so tough. She puts me to shame. Being blind definitely doesn’t hold her back. A fantastic performance,

I loved the first three books in this collection. I enjoyed all of the characters and got immersed in the story of each of them. I laughed, I cried, and I had to read to the end without stopping because I had to know how things got resolved. I highly recommend each and every one of the first three books.

Unfortunately, the last book was a let down. There was nothing to their getting together (instant attraction, no holds barred) and the sub plot relating to Wes's law enforcement role was a nothing burger.

Loved this boxed set of alpha males and their strong feisty women (always enjoy a female lead who is established in her career and isn't afraid to go for what she wants) Each story was different (unique) from the other but they all had a good mix of romance, steam, intrigue, suspense and a sweet HEA. Although each story is a standalone they're a group of friends so it's awesome seeing them pop up throughout the different stories supporting each other and lending a hand or just hanging out. Thoroughly enjoyed the stories and looking forward to the next boxset!

Swoon x 4

Loved this boxed set of alpha males and their strong feisty women. It was nice to see not so young (but not geriatric..lol) adults find their way to each other after careers were established and each were ready to find their “one” even if they didn’t quite know it yet. A nice mix of romance, adventure and suspense…a little steamy in places but overall a great read and HEA.

Happily Ever Afters......Lawman style

Susan Stoked does an amazing job with her heroes and the women who win them. The story lines are sometimes similar, but have enough twist to keep you turning the page. Thank you.

I enjoyed all books except the last book in this box set. The pace and storyline of the first three books moved much faster and had more detail. Book four was a little less paced and just ok.

A great holiday read
