Good start for the series.

This is a short story about Chase Grant and his partner Mocks, they are very effective detectives determined to find missing children. Story doesn't end with cliffhanger, it's just the tip of the ice berg. Will be reading the next book for sure, because do like these two characters.

'Deadly Webs: The Beginning' was intense, thrilling and had quite a few surprises that I didn't see coming. The story line was well written and the way it played out was great. The characters were pretty awesome. I liked how they didn't fit the typical brand of cops that are without past problems or intense pasts. Grant was remarkable as a detective. He had great instinct and his ability to adapt to almost any situation was incredible. Mullocks was quite the mystery at first. But once I got to know her, I understood a lot. She's quite a bad-ass too. I loved the banter between Grant and Mullocks. I can't wait to read more of this series. A great add to your tbr list.

The plot sounded good but it didn’t pan out. The primary characters, Grant and Mocks not surprisingly each has a past that still plays a part of their respective characters lives. I read this as part of a boxed set and I can’t remember when the full story of each pass comes out so I’ll just say nothing original. I never felt and care for either. Bottom line it was something to read and good enough to go to the next book. Which I have but will review separately

The only had thing about this book was it was too short. I see there is an omnibus of the whole series on MY so I can read the total series. The storyline of a missing teenager and police attempts to find her were well written as were the characters. I recommend you get the whole series even if you don't have KU as it is only .99 and seems to have 6 books which is 2 different series of 3 books each. Great deal.

Added to my favorite author list!

James Hunt impressed me with his book Deadly Webs: The Beginning Book 0, enough to make the cut of one of my favorite authors. I found the book to be well written with few grammatical errors. The storyline was intriguing, pulling me in until I couldn't put it down. I am looking forward to reading more from him, especially along the lines of the detective finding missing children.

This was a really good book I picked up on kindle It dealt with the disappearance is a young girl and a detective and his partner who were assigned to the case to find her. It was not the least bit predictable (which I loved) and also dealt some with the “dark web” which I have to admit I know nothing about. So overall, a very interesting book.

Thrilling ride!

This book was well written with a great storyline that flowed perfectly from start to finish. The characters were developed smoothly and each page kept your eyes glued to the action. A great read ( besides some foul vocabulary). I would recommend to most adults.

3.5 stars. Good solid writing. A detective in missing persons division takes on the disappearance of a 12 YO girl. Clues lead him one direction, but instinct another and with the clock ticking time is running out.

Quite an entertaining short story, nice way of describing minute details that help the reader understand the gravity of the situation and or the feelings experienced by the characters in the novel. Enjoyed reading it...no moving on to the second book in the series with same level of expectations.

The Beginning

James Hunt does an excellent job of character development. The story is well planned and grabs you from page one. According to my Kindle I have 22 more books to read. A great detective story.

This was a pretty good book, I don't normally read books like this (I enjoy mysteries but mainly cosy mysteries) but this was well written and kept me hooked. This is the story of a detective solving an abduction of a young girl, knowing the first hours of a missing person's case are the most important in finding them alive.
