This was a fun book with some flaws. For example, the main character keeps having giant instances of dumb luck after another. Every time he wants to make a technological advancement he happens to find a new witch with just the right power, when he needs to investigate a murder, he happens to find a witch with just the right power. The romance I also found somewhat annoying. The society the MC tries to build is a flawed socialist country.

That being said, this novel is as good as Chinese novels get, and I enjoyed most of it.

I'm a sucker for romanticism, when I expect a character to die to make everybody's life easier, whether it's a love rival, or a minister cockblocking your policies due to moral issues, I expect them to die. And this series, they actually die. This makes me happy and sad, happy things work out, but sad that it eats into the longevity of this series. In chess you don't always relieve the tension right away.

En esta muy recomendable parte de la saga, empiezan las batallas y nuevamente, el autor cambiando el registro general del libro, vuelve a desenvolverse con soltura. Muy recomendable.

I didn’t finish this. & idk where I stopped as it relates to a book cause I read it as a web novel. But I mostly got tired of the war stuff bc I was more interested in the uplift but it was slow. Too slow

I don’t think I’ll continue it though. Sigh

For my future reference I stopped at chapter 136
Ps: the romance or the tension or wtv between some of the witches and Roland was putting me off. Like I didn’t come here for that
