Ridmark Arban is the Gray Knight, leading the defense of Andomhaim from the brutal Frostborn. Yet the realm of Andomhaim is riven with civil war. The false king Tarrabus has usurped the crown in the name of the shadow of Incariel, and the loyal lords must fight the ruthless rebels. Unless Ridmark can defeat Tarrabus and reunify Andomhaim, the Frostborn will prevail. But Tarrabus Carhaine, deadly and wicked, will not be defeated without terrible cost...
Standing over six feet tall, USA Today bestselling author Jonathan Moeller has the piercing blue eyes of a Conan of Cimmeria, the bronze-colored hair of a Visigothic warrior-king, and the stern visage of a captain of men, none of which are useful in his career as a computer repairman, alas.
He has written the DEMONSOULED series of sword-and-sorcery novels, and continues to write THE GHOSTS sequence about assassin and spy Caina Amalas, the COMPUTER BEGINNER'S GUIDE series of computer books, and numerous other works. His books have sold over one million copies worldwide.
So many series books Ive read seem to run out of steam or loose focus as the extended story unfolds. Jonathan Moeller seems to have avoided this problem completely. In his Author Notes he says he plotted out the series years ago, the books seem to bear that out as they seem to get better as the conclusions of the epic tale approaches. This book is leaner and yet still has all the details necessary for a great read. Great battles and character development as well. Said it before and I'll say it again, what more could you ask for?
I think I'm a super fan of this series. Every book leaves me wanting more. Jonathan Moeller has yet to disappoint me. I'm also reading the Demonsouled Series which I am enjoying.
Adventure, fights, mystery and pain all together in this volume. I am reading as fanaticreader to the end. But I vowed never again read a story that spans more than 4 volumes.
I found this incredibly difficult to put down, and very easy to pick up. The action picked up from the very first page, and I was able to quickly recall the salient points of the story so far. The plot twists came thick and fast, and gave me some humour even in the face of the state of play. The climax literally exploded from the page, and I very much enjoyed some closure for a portion of the story line. The resolution left me with more questions than answers, and I'm going to have to read the next book in the series very soon.
Book 13 of the Frostborn saga continues to keep my attention with some suspense and good action sequences. Andomhaim must be united as time is running out, soon the Frostborn will be unstoppable. It would be nice to see some other characters get a chance to shine but the character interactions between our main cast continues to keep us attached to the story. I just keep cheering for certain things to happen for each character. The pressure is mounting time is running out and I can't wait to read the conclusion of this amazing tale.
The saga draws ever closer to the epic conclusion.
The author's saga is beginning of the end is taking shape, and the hero's are proving worth it. As the usurper leads his forces against the seat of the empire, the forces of light close in their foe. The excitement and drama scale towards the apex. And who is calling for Ridmark to "come burn with me" and who is the knight with the sword across his lap? We all await the last two novels in this wondrous saga.
Putting down a J Moeller is really difficult.you can see many reviews of the book, etc. I much prefer to tell you that Moeller is one of the 5 Best epic fantasy writers, ever! This is really a tale that revolves around 2 incredible characters. Ridmark Arban & Calliende ,the Keeper. Book 13 continues this spectacular tale & we should all look forward to the last two books in this series.this tale is best read & appreciated in read in sequence!
This story just keeps going and going! I have enjoyed them so far and fell in love with the main characters and they fit in the story very well, I think if you got rid of some of them the story would just stop. They are so interlink with each other, killing one would kill them all. Great Reading Everyone!
Well written, fun book for those who like the series and this author. If you are a Sci-fi/ Fantasy reader, give it a try, but I really recommend that you start at the 1st book, they will make a lot more sense.
While Ridmark and his friends return from their successful quest to obtain allies against the Frostborn. They still had a civil war for which they had to win and install the rightful king. After a pitched very brutal battle where it could have gone either way. The one thing for which kept me from rating this excellent book any higher was the fact that the ending was left open.

Every paragraph, every sentence, every word & every single moment has been a pleasure to read. Jonathan Moeller is the most consistent writer I have ever experienced. Perfection!
I can't wait to see what happens in the next book. This book, as well as the past books in the series, are attention holding. Hard to put down my phone long enough to charge it.
