Totally trashy book--great for the beach! If you love soap operas, you'll love this book!

This is quite possibly the worst book I've ever read. I don't think there was one likeable character in it. Well, maybe Jonas, but his character wasn't even developed - he came across as bland because of it.
The female characters are some of the most annoying I've ever come across in fiction: vapid, weak, whiny and perfectly content to let the so-called alpha males (more weak and whiny characters) boss them around. Shelby, in particular, was aggravating. Her constant dithering was tiresome and infuriating: "Should I leave my husband or not? He's an angry drunk who shouts at me, ridiculed me in front of my parents, forced himself upon me, and is now shacked up with another woman. Hmm, tough decision."
Although a published novel, I proofread this as part of my volunteer work for a charity - the scanning software introduces character errors, so it's my job to correct these typos. It was for a good cause, so I don't regret working on this. But I don't think I'll be selecting a novel like this again!

Oh Jackie Collins, I do heart you. When you pick up her books, you can expect fame, glamour, sex, drugs, and treachery. One cannot be critical of her books, as they are meant for light, fun reading, not for book-club-level examination. I flew through this book, and enjoyed every minute of it (besides the saccharine ending, but like I said, what else are you to expect?). The women were all sharp and fun, the men were all assholes, and everyone got what they deserved in the end. I'm totally having a girl moment, but I thought Cat and Jonas would have been perfect for each other. I loved the banter between them, but alas and alack, it wasn't meant to be - probably Jackie's version of throwing a curveball. Next up for me to read - Hollywood Wives; the Next Generation :::shiver of anticipation:::

This is my first Jackie Collins, and I must say that I had expected much more than what I got. Book is interesting, will keep you hooked (you might end up reading it in one go) but you will still feel that there is something missing. The story is nothing that you wouldn't have read before. Though the characters are very well defined, the climax looks a bit abrupt. Seems like the author was in a hurry to wind everything up.
Take it as a light read in between your other better books. Its a good time pass.

I'm pretty biased when it comes to giving reviews for a Jackie Collins book, as she is my favourite author and I just enjoy her books so much, no matter what they are about.
I must say that yes Hollywood Divorces wasn't one of my favourites of hers, but it was still so good regardless.
The ending HAD ME SHOOK! I was not expecting some of the characters lives to end that way and I'm actually pretty sad about it.
The characters that you follow are three married women, Shelby Cheney, 32, Lola Sanchez, 24 and Cat Harrison, 19.
The story basically follows them having different problems with their husbands that will be leading to divorce. But its not just about that, its also about sex, lots of drugs and drama! Oh and did I mention a murder?!
Jackie Collins writes some of the best fucked up, crazy characters that you can't help but get invested in!!
However, this book in particular, I would have liked just a bit more character development.
I just love her writing, her plot lines, her characters and everything in between.

The last of the Hollywood series and you can tell. I still liked it but it wasn't as good as the others. It was different in the way that the others had a background story too whereas this didn't. I didn't like most of the characters either.

This book was so strange.
Now I love me some crazy, soapy borderline trash and I honestly think Jackie Collins was a genius but I can't say this is one of her best. And I think that's because you can see the joints in this story.
It's like, there are 3 main characters, and with one of them (who is supposedly edgy but listens to Kid Rock FML even back around Y2K he wasn't edgy) JC starts setting up the love interest... but then about two thirds of the way through the book JC decides she actually likes another character she's introduced better, chucks all her foreshadowing and development away, pies original love interest off on someone else and gives the exciting bad boy a soft side so magically he is now Mr Right.
I also get the feeling she wrote the ending on a deadline... SPOILERS - the story is ticking along sort of like he's leading somewhere and then abruptly three (awful) men die. The women found better men. The end.
Like I said, very bizarre. It's a shame because I love love love Chances and Lucky, and the retro vibe of JC's writing and she's so good at addictive little chunks of copy. But eh, I love her so still 3 stars.

Jackie Collins is a brilliant author. This has been on my shelf for a while however I have the book with the pretty green colour hence why my eye was drawn to it. I really liked this book and Shelby, Lola and Cat it was all just really good. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I have read better books. I love how this book is a light, summery, easy to read chick- lit.

I really enjoyed this book! Such a quick and easy read! I liked how there were 3 different stories going at the same time. I normally do not like that style but I feel it really worked well here.

A wannabe ‘Real Housewives’, this book left so many story lines unfinished, and failed to develop any likable characters. The ending was so cheesy that I actually gagged.

I got the audio of this book. I wanted something different to listen to during my commute. I thought it there would be a romance in this, but I was wrong. However, it's a decent book. Even though you won't fall in love with most of the characters, their thinking and actions keep the reader engaged - like a trashy soap opera (if you're into that sort of thing).

My first Jackie Collins novel was a very fun read even though I didn’t particularly like any of the characters. I would have enjoyed more about their individual histories in order to try to understand them better, but I suppose including that would have made for a more unwieldy book. Feeling very glad not to live their glamorous Hollywood lives!

Classic Jackie: full of sass, glamorous women, ridiculous men, plots you can predict and a few surprises to keep you guessing. As always gloriously ridiculous as it is compulsively readable. Didn’t like how a couple of the plot lines ended up, and it wasn’t my up there in my fave trash-lit books which is why overall it’s four stars for me.

It's been 30 years since I've read this one .. was a great ride! Lots of draaaama and Hollywood divas (men and women). Jackie knows what she's doing, though most of her novels are very similar plots though.

One of the top five worst books I have ever read. Horrible writing plus horrible characters plus horrible dialogue equals a horrible read. I don't for one second get Collins' "success".
