When a child goes missing the amount of resources that authorities use is substantial. Abduction cases are taken very seriously by all of the parties involved. None more so than by Chase Grant, a detective in Seattle’s eighteenth precinct. The clock starts the moment he gets the call from a parent, and the first twelve hours are crucial. Every move counts, and every choice matters. If he missteps, then a child might not come home. But today was different. He got a call about a missing child. And then another, and another, and another…

James Hunt's passion for writing began at an early age. While his journal of yesteryear may never be the work of great fiction, he's been working hard every day since then to bring pages to life. James has well over a decade of writing under his belt, but his professional career in literature didn't take off until 2014.
James currently lives in Orlando, FL and when he's not pounding away at the keyboard you can find him at the theater or somewhere outside enjoying the beautiful Florida weather.
Another great story involving Grant and Mocks. Child abduction turns into human trafficking. Grant sets his watch as the case begins. The child’s name is Annie and Grant can’t help but dwell on the loss of his wife and their unborn daughter Annie. No case is every simple but this one gets complicated real quick and personal for Mocks when she learns Rick has been abducted by the gang they are investigating. Can’t wait for the next book.
Once again, author James Hunt has left me hanging. Very well written and absolutely keeping me on the edge of my seat. Now if I can just find out what’s going on with Detective Grant. Last I heard of him, he wasn’t in an advantageous position, and I have no way of helping him out. I guess that means the next book in the series must be started soon. Thank goodness, I have it close at hand.
I read this as a box set it am reviewing each on their own.
This one continues the saga of a child abduction ring, gets a bit silly as in unbelievable. My so so like for the characters Grant and Mocks from first book decreases. As does the whole plot. But there is nothing really drawing me to read the third installment then just to finish the series.
It was truly a riveting mystery but only from the point where one of the protagonists thought it was bigger than what it seemed and started directing their efforts to identify and catch the gang. From that moment on the story picked up and hardly lost its track. Good chemistry between the two detectives.
This is a continuation of detective mystery books about child abduction. Detectives Grant and Mocks are trying to crack the Web of sex trafficking. Looking forward to the next book.
Very well written. Not slow, not stilted, well paced. No places where I wanted to skip ahead to get through "dull". I've already downloaded the 2nd book.
Loved this story. I am a bit sad that the next installment isn't yet available. I need to know what happens to Detective Grant and who is behind the Web. P!ease hurry! ☺
Every page so exciting The pot and characters are easy to follow maybe because I didn't want to put the book down I couldn't wait to read the next page. The ending threw me. Can't wait to read the next book
I'm still reeling from the effects of 'Deadly Webs: Trapped-Book 1'. What. A. Ride. Holy crap was this book full of suspense, unbelievable circumstances- which aren't really unbelievable since they actually revolve around true events, action that still has my adrenaline pumping and so thrilling it gave me chills. Grant is really testing his abilities and almost tempting fate to an extent when it comes to getting the job done. He is after all a man on a very important and close to home mission. Mocks is quite a bad-ass as well. I love how she's strong willed when it comes to her marriage, her job and her sobriety. As a team, Grant and Mocks are quite the duo. Oh, and a heads up- this book leaves on a cliffhanger. So I naturally got the next book. After all, I can't just stop reading and not know what is going on. A must read.
I really don't know what to think about this book. It had some good elements but it's characters had too much h baggage. The ending may have been aimed at making me want to read the next book, but instead just left me feeling like I wasted my time reading it.
The cops use procedures that would get any evidence thrown out of court. They intentionally risk themselves and others, even though there are safer actions they can take.
[SPOILER] And the main character intentionally shoots a kidnapper, knowing the victims are still being held by the kidnappers accomplices, leading to the death of all of the victims. To make matters worse, the police supervisors leave the main character on the job, rather than taking his gun and badge like they should. [END SPOILER]
There isn't even an ending. Nothing is wrapped up. The book just ends with a lead-in to the next book in the series.
