Ten paranormal stories that are romantic and can be read by any age. They are full of interesting beings and adventure. Here are two reviews in more detail from the stories I really loved.
Blood Debt Nancy Straight Wow, this story was extremely interesting and kept my interest up. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the books that follow this one.
I would never have thought of Centaurs being totally human and the entire concept of how they live and who they are was unique. Their rituals and customs, although very old fashion, did not really appear to be out of place except to Camille. But that is because she was not raised in their society but as a human. She struggles a lot throughout the story as she loses her mother and goes from a family of 2 to a family of 8.
The story is full of adventure and is fast paced. I was kept on the edge of my chair with some of the things that happened. The characters were very real and you could not help but fall in love with Camille’s brothers, Daniel, Drake and Bianca. You also find that Will and Gretchen are both such protective parents even with Camille who they just accepted into their family. I cannot say any more without giving spoilers, but this book is well worth the read.
Hunted Dean Murray This story was very good and different. You had no clue it was a paranormal except for Adri’s dreams which is an unusual way of telling a paranormal story. Why I only gave it 4 stars was that most of the story was high school drama which is okay but I personally would have liked a bit less of that.
Once you know one of the two high school boys are not what they seem, it gets far more interesting. You are kept wondering which one and what is the reason why Adri is so important? That was when the story became very exciting to read. All in all, it was a good story and well worth reading.
The basic premise of the last book was somewhat compelling, but having the misfortune of being an English major, I just couldn't get past the misspellings, and poor grammar. Since poor Mercy misused many, if not most of her "list" words, They aren't going to help her SAT scores.
Best collection of paranormal stories that I have ever read!! 😊 So happy to read all these full length tales of different types of paranormal fiction. Clean stories that anyone can read! Awesome job ladies! Will be reading more of your great work in the futue!
This is a great collection of stories! Each author invested heat in telling each off the stories. The characters are all well defined and the stories all move with an easy to follow flow. Some of the are part of series, but they all can stand along. Great work.
Nice mix of stories! A couple were less than 5 stars but overall the set was a pleasant surprise and each story was unique and had it's own style. They were all creative and something different!
The read the first four books of this box then I just jumped into the whole series of those individual books and couldn't read the last 6 books but even the series of those novels were pretty good and I got to know good authors like Nancy straight and Kellie McAllen😊
Each time I started reading one of the stories in this collection I didn't think I would finish it. I surprised myself by finishing every one and enjoying them all.
Fabulous stories that leave you wanting more! If you are ever in need of a way to escape a dull day this collection will certainly entertain for hours.
This collection has 10 stories and each book is full-length so it is going to take me awhile to get through all of them. The collection is labeled as 'clean romance' stories but I don't think all the stories are really entitled to that designation.
Hunted by Dean Murray - rating 4 When Adri dreams, it isn't just a dream. She is really there - learning, living, experiencing the dream. She can also visit other people's dreams - she learns to cheer in a cheerleader's dreams. Apparently her power puts her in danger but she doesn't know from whom or why. She has typical teen insecurities and falls for the new guy who, of course, ends up interested in her (don't all YA romances go that way?) Working through the relationships (yes, there is a second guy showing an interest as well - I do get tired of the love triangles) and the danger are what "Hunted" is about. Over all I did stay interested in the characters and will probably check out additional books in the "Dark Reflections" series.
Sex - none Language - none Violence - there is a big fight scene but not graphic
Blood Debt by Nancy Straight - rating 3 Camille meets her father after her mother dies and discovers that she is a Centaur, a species that she never knew existed. Centaurs are a matriarchal society and have some special abilities although they tend to keep them quiet as they try to blend in with the humans around them. Lots of other secrets/mysteries to wade through as well as a love quadrangle (four people - who is going to end up with who?) I haven't decided if I care enough about the characters to continue with the second book in the series or not.
Sex: no actual sex but male and female characters do sleep together (nothing happens) Language: none Violence: some implied violence (murder 'off-stage') and blood is seen on a character's hands; Camille is also tortured by a controlling family member
River's Recruit by Charlotte Abel rating 5 This story made an impression on me but I would not call it a 'clean romance'. There is much in the story that caused me to stop and ponder different issues: alphas in relationships, the leader of the society who has ultimate authority, the haves and the have-nots, extreme punishment for crimes although we learn the extreme measures do have a reason (Would people stop speeding if they received something more than a small fine the first time it happened? Small societies such as this one must maintain law and order and extreme consequences are believed to be the best way to make that happen.) I liked the characters and really did care about what happened to them. However I could never call this is a 'clean romance' because sex is an integral part of the story. The role of women is to submit to their mate although they desire sex just as much as the men do after merging with their wolf. Women might have the status of "wife" but most are concubines, servants or whores (whore status is a punishment). Whores must submit to sex with any male; servants have a right to say no. Nudity is common within the society so it is frequently a part of the story. When a male merges, he should mate (have sex) with at least two females so that he does not establish a bond with any specific female and it seems to be a point of prowess to mate with more than two females. Women are expected to bond emotionally with their mate after merging so there is no expectation of sex with more than one male. The two main characters manage to restrain themselves from actually engaging in sex throughout the story and I assume that is how the story got the 'clean' classification. The various bases of sex are discussed several times (first base is kissing if I remember correctly, home base is intercourse).
Sex: quite a lot in my opinion (read above) Language: none Violence: River's mother was executed (not described) because she killed a man who attacked River when River was 13; one character whipped as punishment
Good collection...but now I have ten series to read so that I can see what happens next in all of them.
Each book was as good as the last. It's been very hard to put each story down to, you know, go to work, take care of the fam, eat, sleep, etc. But I have to find out what's happens next in all of them! There needs to be a collection of part 2 books for all of these here.
This set was a nice collection on a variety of paranormal beings. For the most part, they were well written and kept my interest. A couple were a struggle to get into but we're eventually better than I first thought.
10: It's difficult to write a review of ten various books is one, to individualize them would make the review to long, losing your interest, so with that said, if your're looking for clean, exiting romance, full of adventure, mystery, magic and action, with various paranormal story-lines this is the one for you, look no further. I would recommended this box set for everyone from your teen to your grandma!
Ten clean books for those who enjoy paranormal romances. I haven't finished them all yet but those I have finished I have rated from 3 stars to 5 stars. They are romantic stories about a variety of paranormal young people meeting challenges as they learn about themselves and look for that special person to support them. The characters are interesting and the stories are imaginative.
I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review. I loved this book so much that I didn't want to put it down. I loved all the different stories by the various artists. I definitely recommend this clean paranormal set.
YA books that can be read by those 10 and older. Perfect urban fantasy selection of first in series. Enjoy this well thought out selection. There is some violence and mild petting.
