From heart stopping passion, to bloody battles, to the call of vengeance that thundered in their ears, they are forced to confront their worst fears, and greatest desires. A new era is coming to their world. A world where Fire and Blood shall reign...where powerful Magic shall come alive.
I really want to give this book 3.5 stars. The concept and combination is awesome yet I can't help but see undertones of the History channels Vikings show in the storyline. Also, the author kept calling key characters by the names of characters in that show...Bjorn, Auslag....and WHO is Rakida?
If I was not a big fan of that show I would give this book 4.5 stars.
-was this book perfect? NO. -was this book free of grammatical errors? NOPE (not many though) -did you enjoy reading this book? HECK YEAH!! -did the q&a help as well as was there a HEA? YUP I truly enjoyed this writers style and how she wove history in with her wonderful fiction. I loved the interracial couple and reading how paranormal intertwined with historical and romance. This book was a page turner and the sex scenes, the action, just all of it combined to become one hell of a read. So far this is one of the best interracial books I've read in quite some time. It just did something for me
Very action packed. An epic love story and a lot of magic. Some scenes are hard to take. But nothing sexually unbearable. I will read more by this author
What a very interesting cross of culture and mythology. I've never read anything with Egyptian mythology meeting Norse mythology. The female protagonist was unique, not only because of her appearance, but her gifts/talents. Of course the Viking love is there for sure. Keep up the good work Andromeda.
I wanted to give this book the benefit of the doubt and probably would have given it 12 Stars however I watched the series Vikings and this book was an exact replica .the author tried to switch around some of the names but still ended up including the characters names from the Vikings series at one point she even changed the name of the main character I thought I was reading another book but then I quickly realized it was still the same retelling of all 4 seasons of Vikings this is why i gave two stars for actually trying to add in another character but still fell behind and forgetting the character's name
I really enjoyed this book to that she overcame being without parents had to take of her brother and sister. Taken as slaves. Found true love . had special powers but never use for evil nor let over come her. Became Queen Loved her husband. That loved her even when she was a slave. Thank you for a nice read
Love the historical/mythology theme. Being a big fan of all Mythology and History, the author did a great job of capturing my interest. I really loved the strong female Heroine and the scenes between her and the Hero were smoking hot! Looking forward to reading more from this AMAZING author.
This was a first for me..The plot and the author. I loved how cleverly Andromeda weaved the cultures of Nordic & Egyptian together. Can't help but love Rashida & Alrik and I so wished that model on the cover was made to look the way Rashida is described in the book. A sight to behold! Of course some of the customs were gag worthy ( i.e. animal/human sacrifice) Ugh! But being a lover of history especially ancient history I accept that that was their culture/beliefs and I just had to suck it up & move on. What a colorful, informative, racy, imaginative tale. Great job of inserting the point of Vikings traveling far and wide. Ancient mummies with blue eyes, red & blonde hair were unearthed in China & there is evidence to show Vikings made it here long before Columbus. Just an Awesome read!👍✋😉
The idea of Egyptian and Viking culture contact was what really piqued my interest in this book. I love historical fiction - romance and adventure - it is a total thrill ride for me. The story was interesting and the heroine was strong. Rashida, she did not need any one to save her, of course she had amazing powers. So you became invested in her evolution from that of an enslaved teenager to a freed woman and the impact she had on those that oppressed her. Alrik's love and devotion to her was sweet component in that journey. It was my first book by Andromeda. I did enjoy the story, but the errors in the grammar, names of characters and even the colour of the character's eyes were glaring. As an author, investing in an excellent editor is crucial. Although you can't get a perfect book - errors distract the reader from enjoying the experience.

Heart’s Conquest: A Viking’s Romance by Andromeda “She remembered when Alrik had said that he didn’t ever want her to go through childbirth ever again, and that lasted…for about a week.” ~~~~ This is the only stand alone from this author and it’s just as good. The long distance friends to eventual lovers was extremely well written. There was a ton of emotion in it; along with not the spicy spicy scenes that I think a lot of us are used to. But the dynamic between the two characters was compared to Odin and Freyja; and in a sense, I think these two were better. Odin please don’t strike me down for that. These books are seriously good, even if you need a little filler between books. They are small and they can be read in about a few hours. I love all of the books so far; there's one more three book series that this author has that I'm excited to start. We’ll find out what happens.
Rashida was a very complex character. She was strong, wise, and gifted with supernatural powers. If she had stayed in Egypt, nothing great would've happened to her. The love of Alrik, marriage, children, and great influence was magical. I enjoy books with a strong female as the lead character. Her rise from slave to Queen was awesome. This was a good story because the brown girl got the Prince.
Something about the premise didn’t sit right with me but I gave it a shot bc I’ve read similar books and they navigate the topic well imo. This one missed the mark for me. It started with giving her green eyes and then kept on in that fashion by having her do things that a person who was a slave wouldn’t do, no matter how well her “masters” treated her. There being lots and lots of typos didn’t help.
I didn't just love this story. I love LOVED this story and to make it even better she didn't rip my heart out by killing someone off like she did in "Captive Bride." I'm still hurting from that. Anyway, I adore Andromeda's continued use of strong female characters and Rashida is certainly a badass as well. Can't wait for the next boom.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book of which I read in sitting one sitting. Enjoyed the Historical references so I'm do last night how you come on so late would. , Love the characters and the settings can't wait to read another book by this author.
If you watch the series "Vikings" on the history channel, this book reflects so much of the storyline. I refused to continue reading it. I prefer to watch the series.
At first I was so excited, I love Viking stories. But, this author failed to keep my interest; this was way too long. You could not connect to the characters because the author constant switch from first to second person in her writing.
Although the author tries to be historical most of it was unbelievable. I don't think I would read anymore books but this author.
I loved the uniqueness of an interracial romance story taking place in a time period not usually explored. I loved the story itself but would always get taken out of the story by the typos. I wouldn't have knocked off too many stars for simple spelling errors but these errors were rampant. Full on sentences not making any sense that had the reader trying to decipher what the writer was trying to convey. And the fact that the author kept changing the names of the characters. In a scene involving the main characters, she goes from saying their names are Alrik and Rashida to Bjorn and Nakia all in one paragraph, let alone the same page!
Other than that, I thought the book was very interesting. I would like to try to read something else by the author to see if the vast amount of grammatical errors was just a fluke before I would completely write off the writer.
Very interesting book. Once I started I had to finish. Very strong characters, the leads were. Outspoken, direct, confident . Great concept, I actually enjoyed this story. O my problems for me were, the grammatical errors. Spelling, misplaced words, the change in the lead characters names. Who was Bjorn and Nakia, they were used several times instead of the characters actual names. We're they titles or something, pet names, were did they come from and it was purposeful, why?
This was a great book. I loved the story line. Rashida and Alrick were a beautiful match. That Viking loved his brown skinned beauty. I was a bit annoyed that he forced his attention on her after being gone for years. There should have been some level of respect on his part to show her how much he cared about her and wanted her without always pushing her up against a tree and putting his hand under her dress. Otherwise, I enjoyed the read.
Ive been reading interracial books for a lone time. But nothing with a historical background, thats what made this a great read. It had me captivated throughout the whole story. Ive been known to skim though a book if it losses my interest. This book didnt do that. The historical mixed the mystical aspects of the story had my attention the whole way through. Great read thanks. Cant wait for the next one. Until then peace out
I skipped over this tale several times, but not from lack of liking the writer. With the right mind set,I started the story and she did not disappoint. I liked the story a lot.
