Cirque: Act II

Rate this book
Without my box I can’t be me
Kidnapped by a clown close to the sea
He’s torn inside where one equals two
One I hate, the other I love true

Secrets and lies become alibis
Sivan is damaged, it’s in his eyes
Riddles unravel when you know who masters
Now Imogene’s only home is Masters

An eye playing spy held me together
When I broke, he broke, two ends of frayed tether
We’re joined by the past like twin souls in hell
Innocent angels molested, and fell

I escaped it, but need to go back.
To love the man with his face painted black.
The circus is known for its eternal magic
Our tent of freedom is simply tragic.

Once a little girl fell, then she fell for me
I’m a fool, and she’s a fool for me
There’s a clown inside us all; a purpose
But this life, it’s all just a circus.

Everything I wrote about book 1 x 3!! So so good. I read this book in two go's in one night, only interrupted to watch a hockey game. Breaking both the records set by book 1.
I really can't say enough good things about these two books. From the writing to the story.

5 stars. If I could give more I would. This series is a must read for so many reasons I can't even begin to name em all!!

"The circus is magical, but not all magic is beautiful. Some of it is dark and ugly."

The lights have burned out, the circus is now dark. Beware, this one is more twisted than the first one. Past and present collide in a darkly, addictive way. I was blindsided with the start of this book. I did not see this coming. Rather than give you a complete play by play, I'm gonna just keep it short, no spoilers from me.

The Circus has been built. The setting is perfect. Yet, the characters are broken. Shattered to the point of devastating choices and drastic urges. I felt like the make-up was wiped off and the truth was revealed in such an emotional way, layer upon layer of tragedy and twisted connection. My heart broke for all things Sivan and Imogene. Ashleigh Giannoccaro pulls no punches. She hits you with every word. I felt as if I was in that tent, I could smell the air, I couldn't breathe with all the angst and tension. Adding depth to each scene and leaving me choking with emotion.

This one felt more rushed than the first and I wanted a bit more background from Sivan. I think the hints were there and somehow I missed it. Nevertheless, I loved the ending. I don't need a pretty bow tied on an ending. And this was certainly different, which I crave in my books. An amazing series, if you can put your preconceived notions behind and peek through the window.

"You will love me, Imogene. I will make you love this clown."

I had been waiting for Act 2 to release as soon as I finished Act 1. I loved how the author ended the first book and I was curious to see what would happen in this book. It started out with a bang, and I was excited to see which direction the author would take with this story. It could go either way and Ashleigh is known to throw some crazy plot twists into her stories. If you have read and loved the first Act then you'll enjoy Act 2 as well. I had a lot of questions and got answers to all of them in Act 2. I loved how everything eventually came together and we got a clear view of what was really going on in both Sivan and Imogene's life.

"You wanted to run away to the circus. Well, welcome baby, to my circus."

Just like Act 1 there were a couple of brutal, dark and twisted scenes. I was happy that the author stayed true to the characters. I don't like it when authors pull a one-eighty on the personalities of the characters. Character development is very important but don't change the personality completely. I was happy that was NOT the case in this book. Both characters are as broken as they were in the first book. They both had a very traumatic past and still hadn't been able to work through their issues. The attraction they felt towards each other made sense but will they heal or break each other further? Will Imogene be able to love and accept the Clown? You'll have to read this book to find out! Act 2 was a great conclusion to Imogene and Sivan's story. Pick this series up if you love creepy/twisted dark romance.

Clowns are generally people's worst nightmares. But Ashleigh created Sivan and I fell in love with him.
He's a man with secrets. A rugby player and construction businessman by day , at night though , his inner clown comes out to play . He has dimensions to his personalities that are buried under each other . His struggle to Be and to Become is very heartbreaking. It's like he wants to be two people at the same time. Be in two places at the same time . He can't abandon his true self but he wants to be better for Imogene too .

I realize that I have no magic. I have a disease.

Who wins ~ the one he craves the most !
Imogene Masters has circus inside of her and no matter how far she runs or how far her Dad takes her away, she's trapped in the Circus by her heart and soul. She and Sivan end up in his Dreamland which, for her, is her worst Nightmare .
Same place, different perspective . What started out as a potential love story in book 1 , goes darker and deeper in book 2. Sivan accepts his inner Clown and wants Imogene to accept too, but she's still scared , still hates the clown . As is , the Ringmaster comes to the rescue. It's his job to keep Performers and Animals in check. He takes control and directs his artists to perform and train their inner animals and inner performers.

“We all get to play the fool occasionally , Sivan, each of us has a clown inside somewhere. But, we have other faces too.”

The end is very cathartic. Imo helps Sivan finds peace by creating a new persona . One that won't hurt them both but let them exist in peace in a buffer zone , so to speak. I loved the story. It's very very unusual . You have to read it carefully so that you don't miss the pain that exists in the story. That's the backbone. It stretches and bends but the pain is there , in physicality and in the tortured souls !
I've never read anything so solely focused on Circus or clowns before , and I must say, it's not scary . It's a dark theme , but handled very well . Very well written , very well described and doesn't sag or go awry.
Perfect !

A hauntingly beautiful conclusion to this unique series, as two flawed individuals struggle to accept who they are and whether they can survive together.

There is one big question in this story:
Can anyone love the clown?

Welcome home, Imogene. You wished for the circus for so very long; here it is ready to destroy you.

Given where book one left off, this story took a completely different direction than I expected, right off the bat. It was just a big surprise and if I'm being honest, make a a tad uncomfortable. While book one felt magical at times, book two had a darker tone as the true clown came forward.

The author really pushes the limits in this installment. Not everyone will like this clown. I'll admit, at times, I hated him or feared him. But at the same time, the clown still felt right for Imogene. If the two can work out the problems from the past, I feel like they have potential together.

For Sivan, he has to come to terms with who he really is with new revelations coming forward. Given the new information, I'm not sure why his family chose to ignore the signs. Given the information he later comes clean about, I'm even more shocked they didn't take any action. I believe that they operate under the motto of "forgive and forget".

When I touch her and close my eyes, I'm outside the window looking in.

For Imogene, her journey is a harder one. Can she let go of the past and accept Sivan, flaws and all? Can the two heal each other? My heart broke for her as she struggled to get past the Sivan's darker side.

I have retreated into the box of my mind, closed the lid and locked myself in with my demons and secrets.

There were also some big revelations about Imogene's past and her family that were shocking, but answered a lot of questions.

How did she end up at the circus in the first place?
Why was no one looking out for her?
How did she get out?
We have those answers now and they tie to the present. It is how Imogene and Sivan adjust to this information that are key to their future. I won't give anything away, but I thought the author took them down the right path.

I don't want her want, I want her love.

This is a series you need to read with an open mind. If you are going to judge what is right and wrong, you won't enjoy it. The characters are all flawed, some more so than others. There may just be someone who can love the clown, flaws and all.

The circus is magical, but not all magic is beautiful. Some of it is dark and ugly.

Trigger Warning: Extreme and detailed sexual child abuse in the form of flash backs .

Like.... there is a disturbingly excessive amount of detailed child sexual abuse. It's very uncomfortable to read.
description

Well, I have an unpopular opinion about this. So, I'll start by saying that this is just my opinion. This author is on Amazon KU and you can read the books for yourself and form your own opinion. Which is really what I recommend everyone do. We won't all love, like or dislike the same things. Ok. Moving on!

Finally done and all I can say is... WHAT THE FUCK!
description

In my opinion this was terrible. I couldn't decide to give this 1 or 2 stars and finally decided on 1. I would have only given it 2 stars because I was interested enough to see how it ended but it was still terrible.

description

If you read some of my reviews, you know that I love some dark and creepy things and I can really push the envelope with some of the stuff that I read. But all the detailed baby raping in this book was extreme and completely unnecessary. The past abuse was necessary to show the reader the characters internal conflict and how they deal (or completely ignore and suppress) with their past tragedy. However the excessive amount of details were not necessary and frankly they were downright disturbing.

description

Minor spoilers ahead...
Whats up with Betty? She was an unnecessary character. Instead of making her useful to the plot.. our precious, fucked up and broken clown killed her and gave her a shallow grave on the beach. Um... If Sivan "is" or is becoming the clown of his childhood, then why did he kill someone? Then alluded that he had killed others but we never really know for sure because none of this is explained. People are just running around killing people they don't like. I mean, I get why Imogene's dad did what he did but that's it.

Sam - Sivan's sister... I just don't get it. I honestly hope she doesn't get a book.
Gavin - Sivan's best friend... not believable.

Sivan and Sam's mom.... what a flake and totally not believable. I dont think any mother would let her children suffer the way Sivan and Sam did. Sure... just let your kids figure this very adult, complicated life shit out on their own. Ok, sure.

“You have an identity disorder, Sivan. There is more than one person inside you. Dissociative identity disorder. You are fully aware of your other self, and function well because you can cover for each other.”

description

Then we have Imogene's dad. Im pretty sure that her dad and Sivan's mom are actually the same character but given different names in the book...

“I know you kidnapped her. I know you are somehow connected to, or obsessed with him. The only reason you are not already dead, or in prison, is because for some reason Imogene seems to think she loves you. Up until now I never believed she’d let anyone get close enough to her to love them.”

description

Then we get to Sivan and Imogene's "so called" conflict resolution. Totally not believable. It almost feels like the author wrote herself into a corner and didn't know how to get out and really seemed like she didn't care. Sivan kept claiming that "he is the clown and no one loves a clown" but kept falling out of that personality (a lot) and slipping into Sivan's personality and apologizing for all the terrible things he did to Imogene.

“I cannot love my worst nightmare, and like this that is what you are.”

Then they spent some time apart and then had sex and all is okay in their world.

description

Oh and now Sivan is supposed to have a bunch of personalities? And Imogene is at peace after she's had Sivans magic clown rumpleforeskin tan banana? Im so confused!!!

description
description

Ok. Im going to bring it back to Betty. There are a couple of references in here when the characters actually ask "What about Betty?" and I have to ask it again! WHAT ABOUT BETTY? You can't just leave that huge loophole there. Why was she even in the story? She could have been sent home! Someone needs to answer for that.

One positive thing I will say is that, in the end, I liked that Imogene helped Sivan transform into something else. First book was great, second book not so much.

Wow 😱 I really love this kind of books,
Different, special, ones that make you shrink.
Squeeze the juice from my body. And .... boom 💥
Yes, I'm insane for reading such things. If you don't like books that make your mind to roll, or kinky books. It's not for you! But, give it a try, chances are you will also have the feeling that ... they fooled you. The review is * very * short, so as not to reveal unnecessary spoilers 😬😉

Don't know the author. A huge thank you to my friend ,the amazing Kineret who recommended me this crazy duet! 😘

🤡 "𝙽𝚘 𝚘𝚗𝚎 𝚕𝚒𝚔𝚎𝚜 𝚌𝚕𝚘𝚠𝚗𝚜, 𝚗𝚘 𝚘𝚗𝚎 𝚊𝚌𝚌𝚎𝚙𝚝𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚘𝚜𝚎 𝚠𝚑𝚘 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚍𝚒𝚏𝚏𝚎𝚛𝚎𝚗𝚝 𝚝𝚘 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚖; 𝙸 𝚔𝚗𝚘𝚠 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚋𝚎𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚗 𝚖𝚘𝚜𝚝." 🤡

Ever been afraid of clowns? I only announce that I have dreamed about him several times and did not fall asleep at night throughout the reading. There was a mix of psychology, horror, and darkness here. Or in short all the things I love in one place.

Sivan, an adolescent who goes with his family to the French circus that comes to their town. But, like any adolescent, he has hormones. And he has to release them 🤣 He runs away from the circus and watches the clown and trapeze acts through the hole.

The book was very creepy and so good I couldn't put it out of my hand. It was made of such good elements that I was like that 😱 And as someone who is really into these things. Did I fly? Yes. Did I want to scream? Yes!!!! 😬🙈

When Sivan sees this clown. He sees this look as nauseating and cool. And he dreams of being that clown. This is his future.

🎪 "𝚃𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚒𝚜 𝚖𝚢 𝚌𝚒𝚛𝚌𝚞𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚜𝚑𝚎 𝚒𝚜 𝚖𝚢 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚛 𝚊𝚌𝚝, 𝚊𝚕𝚠𝚊𝚢𝚜 𝚓𝚞𝚜𝚝 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚜𝚊𝚍 𝚌𝚕𝚘𝚠𝚗 𝚠𝚑𝚘 𝚖𝚊𝚔𝚎𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚖 𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚙𝚢." 🎪

Imogen is full of secrets and the most mysterious character I have read in most of my life.
I have never came across such a character. She is sexy ,with fiery red hair!

This book had so many twists and turns that made even me shocked
My jaw reached the floor several times. I had nightmares at night from this duet so much!
Sometimes people think they know everything, but they don't! 🙈
The clowns there Made me want to become one of them 🤣 Maybe in Purim we will look up to that? 🤔

🎭 "𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝚌𝚒𝚛𝚌𝚞𝚜 𝚒𝚜 𝚖𝚊𝚐𝚒𝚌𝚊𝚕, 𝚋𝚞𝚝 𝚗𝚘𝚝 𝚊𝚕𝚕 𝚖𝚊𝚐𝚒𝚌 𝚒𝚜 𝚋𝚎𝚊𝚞𝚝𝚒𝚏𝚞𝚕. 𝚂𝚘𝚖𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝚒𝚝 𝚒𝚜 𝚍𝚊𝚛𝚔 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚞𝚐𝚕𝚢." 🎭

In conclusion, this duet has taken a lot out of me. He was just excellent. The first part I really liked, but for me the second part of the story was even more insane and crazy as I like it.
And being told psychic and sickly, kinky, taboo even a little ... weird love 🖤 I'm running forward these things! Do not be afraid, or you will ... because the clown will haunt you! 😈☠

Boy oh boy I was worried after reading the acknowledgements at the beginning of the book, that Ashleigh Giannoccaro wasn't going to deliver the story I expected in this series. However, all is well and the clown was as creepy as ever. I didn't like clowns before and now I really don't like them. This review may contain spoilers for book one.

"In the center of the ring with a spotlight on him, is my love and nightmare."

We pick up right where we left off. Sivan has Imogene and is ready to put her in his show. Mind you, there are only two of them in the show, besides a random he picks up, uses and discards here and there. Sivan is sick. The clown won't leave and he doesn't know how to function without him.

Imogene is torn. She loves Sivan, yet hates the clown. He is everything she has spent her life trying to forget. While the circus is her home, the clown is the one thing that keeps her from going back. His clown is her greatest fear.

"I simply accept that death will come and he wears the face of a clown. He claims to love me, and yet he will kill me with that love."

In this book, we delve farther into the past of Sivan and Imogene. Things start to make as much sense as they can and I actually started feeling sorry for the guy, but not the clown. The clown was a dirty bastard through and through.

"I knew the moment I saw him that we were entangled in some way, that the tether that tied us allowed me to fall in love with him was bigger than I could comprehend."

The book is well written from dual points of view and I absolutely loved how things came full circle. All questions were answered and while there isn't an epilogue, it would be nice to take a quick peek in on these interesting characters a few years down the road.

Cirque Act 2 (Cirque #2) by A Giannoccaro
4.5 stars!!!

“No one loves the clown.”

Roll up, roll up the circus is back in town. A circus with harrowing memories for those that were forced to perform, a perfect piece of entertainment for the innocent members of the audience, yet behind closed doors, the true horrors of the circus are revealed. Slowly…agonisingly slowly.

“The circus is magical, but not all magic is beautiful. Some of it is dark and ugly.”

This book was hauntingly good, the characters that we got to know in book one were peeled back, stripped of their make-up and their façade as A Giannoccaro takes you behind the scenes, into the minds and hearts of Sivan and Imogene. Two people connected by the circus, yet trapped by the same at the same time.

“The thing with pleasure and fear is they often go together, and I abandoned dancing that deadly tango years ago.”

Sivan is trying not to be overcome by the clown within and Imogene keeps trying to escape the clown who has become the object of her worst nightmares. Not one of the same but the face makes it hard to differentiate. Two broken people, seemingly only having the propensity to love one and other and yet the clown keeps them apart, because “no-one loves the clown.”

“You are no one. You are no one because you love me, and no one loves the clown.”

This is a book that cannot be spoiled, A Giannoccaro has weaved a perfect web around these characters with the circus definitely being the sticky threads that keep these two well and truly tangled. Who is the spider in this book though? We have two flies, surely the spider is hungry? Or at least intrigued by his latest victims?

Clowns love their war paint, it is a piece of them, identifiable only to them, each an individual expression of the person within. Sivan and Imogene are not only connected through the paint but by life itself. Little threads that have tenuously linked them and now they have come together, the question is do the threads snap or do they strengthen? Can these threads become a suspension cable that forever supports?

“I will always be your no one, and you will be my someone…”

A Giannoccaro wraps up Sivan and Imogene’s story with intense emotion, brutal honesty and with enough angst and tension to induce palpitations. As the sorry truth is slowly revealed and the battle begins you know that Sivan and Imogene have a mountain to climb in more ways than one. Two people that can’t live without one and other and yet cannot live with one and other either. An untenable situation, the clown and the acrobat, forever performers, circus in their blood, but has the circus bled them dry? The Ring Master, the man in control, the man who brings the circus together, can this one last act be whipped into shape or has the curtain closed forever without the possibility of an encore?

“We all get to play the fool occasionally, Sivan, each of us has a clown inside somewhere. But, we have other faces too.”

I loved this duet. A Giannoccaro certainly knows how to do dark, the tension building, the suspense, the intrigue as well as emotion. The character connection throughout was on point and as such Sivan was a man that I took into my heart, he was a victim too. For such a happy place the circus will forever be tainted as Sivan and Imogene’s story will definitely be hard to forget.

The clown is BACKKKKKK!!!

When I finished reading Act 1, I was left speechless. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would fall for a clown. I hate clowns. I changed my mind, but only for Sivan. A. Giannoccaro’s intense, broken and mesmerizing clown captivated me from the very start. In this second Act, Sivan is more broken than ever. Every single piece of him needs his beautiful Imogene to keep moving forward. She makes him feel alive and she’s the only one that could love everything he represents.

The demons of the past are coming back to haunt Sivan and Imogene in full force and the battle against their demons leaves them both gasping for air. In Act 1, I felt like Imogene was still a mystery to me. This totally changed in this book. I got to see her grow as a character and she did a lot of thinking when it came down to finding out what she really wanted. This book was darker than the first one. Many scenes were difficult to read, but necessary to make us understand what was going on in the mind of Sivan and Imogene.

This love story was dark, unique and captivating. The author did a phenomenal job at making us feel all the layers of pain that Sivan and Imogene were feeling. I wanted to reach into the book and give them both a comforting hug and tell them that everything would be alright.

These characters have picked up every single piece of their broken souls and become who they were really meant to be. This book exceeded all of my expectations. This reading journey made me go through a hurricane of emotions. These books will linger with me for a long time. If you are looking for your next dark romance read, I highly suggest these books.

I give, Cirque: Act 2, by A. Giannoccaro, 5 mesmerizing, dark, even clowns need love stars!

This book! This duet! They are beyond words. I have been dying for book 2 every since I read the last word of book 1. It did not disappoint!
The sad clown was broken, so broken.
The beautiful circus girl was also so damaged.
Their story was heartbreaking and beautiful but a bit sick and twisted at the same time. I loved it!!!
The way this story played out was fascinating! Each chapter giving us more of their past, revealing more of their secrets showing how perfect and how horribly wrong they were for each other.
This author is simply brilliant! How did  she make me fall for a sick, twisted, psycho of a man? And how did she make me want this poor girl to love her worst nightmare come to life?

ARC REVIEWED

How do you write a review that will give this amazing series the shining stars it deserves without giving the secrets away... I cannot just one click and discover for yourself.

Cirque Act 2 ~WoW what a fantastic follow on read from Act 1, Act 2 has a more darker theme to show us the deeper sides of Sivan and his Clown.

Past secrets are revealed about Sivan and Imogene that are shocking and made me sad, but also helped me to understand the magic and power of the Cirque.

Cirque is a unique series that will take you right into the acts and make you part of the show, a story of broken people, pasts, trying to fit the broken parts to make them whole again and bring back the magic.

The conclusion of this brilliant haunting read!
The story of Imogene and Silvan continues, but this installment is darker, edgier...better!!

If Act 1 was tough and gritty, then the 2nd act just blew tough and gritty out of the water with the force of a nuclear explosion. Woah. Giannoccaro really lets loose in this one as she mines the psyches of her broken, twisted, heart-rendering, destructive, badly in need of love characters. The imagery is vivid, the facts of the matter are - so candidly yet masterfully rendered - are shocking, and in the end you have a scarily compelling book that kept me flipping the ebook pages until I was through. Disturbingly wonderful. Another excellent book.

Act 2 was just as good as Act 1. The beginning left me gobsmacked and I wasn't sure I was going to like the direction it was going, but it led into a beautiful conclusion to the love story between Sivan and Imogene.
Clown aside **shudders** this was a deeply emotional story about two people who are drawn to one and despite their fears–hello, he's a clown–they love one another deeply. As with all relationships, there are hurdles to overcome, some greater than others...like the fact he's a clown.
I still hate clowns but I love Ashleigh's writing and I cannot wait to devour more from this awesome author.

"No one loves the Clown"... I must be No One because Wow do I love this Clown!!

Act 2 is a continuation of Sivan and Imogene's story. Act 1 felt more mysterious and magical while Act 2 seemed darker but still so beautiful and magical. It begins in kidnapping and pain but drags me right into the story. I felt like this book kidnapped me!
Imogene is a broken individual, a survivor but just holding on. Sivan is battling himself and is trying to understand his clown.

“No one loves the Clown.”
“And who are you?” I whisper against her ear. Her sweet smell and soft skin are magical. “Imogene,” she sobs. “No, no, my beautiful girl. You are no one. You are no one because you love me, and no one loves the clown.”

The author blurs the lines between sanity and madness. While reading, I felt like I was stepping over into their madness and boy was I glad to be there! I was transported into The Cirque and all its sounds and smells and feels. As I flipped pages I wanted to live in this book and never come up for air!

"Honesty is better than more secrets and lies. I’m talking to a man dressed in a costume almost as bizarre as my own can be, under the darkness of night in an abandoned circus I built out of pure and utter madness. Why lie?"

Cirque Act 1 & 2 were the first books that I've read by this author and I can't wait to discover more! Her words and stories are amazing and magical!

It's taken me a while to write this review. It wasn't a book that was easily digestible and it took a turn so unexpected, I had to take time to process fully before I could even begin to put my thoughts in writing.

Where in Act 1, Sivan was this tortured clown trying to find a place in this world where he can be himself and let his clown free, Act 2 is where all of that comes to fruition. Sivan lets the clown out completely and he's far more disturbed and tortured than what was let on in Act 1.

Throughout the book there is this push and pull between Sivan and Imogene. Sivan has to battle his clown enough to give Imogene the choice of how accepting she can be. She is put off but intrigued and he is demented but in love. So while Sivan and Imogene have this polar opposite emotional torment within each of them, the reader is also put through an emotional push and pull as well deciding what is right and what is wrong and is there such thing with Sivan and Imogene?

I wanted to fight for Sivan and fight against Sivan. I wanted to save Imogene and push her towards her psychotic destiny.

Where Act 1 was the foreplay, Act 2 was the main event and it was truly a ride I will never forget. These characters are burned into my psyche and I will always love the clown.

"No one loves the Clown.

Cirque is back in Act 2 and YES tha Crazzzzy is back and it was sooo freaking good!!!

"I escaped it, but need to go back.
To love the man with his face painted black.
The circus is known for its eternal magic.
Our tent of freedom is simply tragic."

I will tell you while reading this book, I felt like I was sitting in the audience watching the show and gasping at what was happening right before my eyes. Ashleigh is sooo good at descriptions and truly makes me feel like I am right there in the mix of everything that is going on...I feel like I am the one looking through the hole in the window (and if you read book one..you know exactly what I mean in this comment) lol

I gave this book 5 Bring on the Ringmaster iScream Books Stars!!! I Just loved this story and I know I was vague in my review, but just know that if you love reading dark books you definitely do not want to miss out on Cirque and Cirque Act 2...its sooo freaking good!! And BTW Ashleigh, I just love these covers of this series...I sooo need them on my Shelfies!!! : )

No one love the Clown........Or do they???

"Nobody loves the clown". Well, for a big chunk of this book I did not love the clown. I was so angry with Sivan at times. And Imogene simply broke my heart. This anger, this sadness, these huge emotional feelings are what make a five star read for me. This book is a little darker than Act 1 and there were some parts that made me uncomfortable but I don't want to sit in my comfort zone never challenging myself. The world is not all beautiful and bright. It is sometimes ugly and dark and some people are broken. Those broken people need to see that they are beautiful too and worthy of being loved.

The conclusion of this brilliant haunting read!
The story of Imogene and Silvan continues, but this installment is darker, edgier...better!!
I was totally captivated by this gorgeous read. I was completely drawn to these 2 characters and their chemistry as we learn more about them.
The twisted dark romance of Silvan and Imogene starts to unravel as their secrets are revealed.
The result well you must read and find out.

Well Damn, if i thought after reading Act 1 that I was starting to love clowns Act 2 seal the deal..... I love Sivan. I love how easy this book allows you to turn the words on the page to pictures in you head. It really came to life for me to the point i was humming circus tunes while reading. This book is dark, twisted, original and beautiful in its own way. I freaking loved it!

4 -No one loves the clown- stars.

I read Act 1 and 2 back to back and I really liked both books. There is even more secrets what will comes out on Act 2. We will get some truths about Sivan and also about Imogene. Their past and how they are connected. Ending fits so well on this story but makes you want more.

Clown love here.

I loved getting to know the Clown better in this book. Poor Sivan really is a messed up individual.

His Clown has such a hold on him it's like the Clown is the real him and the Man is the disguise he wears like a costume.
I really felt for Sivan it's hard not to when you find out more of his secrets as to why he's the way he is.

His Obsession has taken a step to the next level as we see him creating more of his own Circus from his childhood.
This story was definitely more terrifying than Act 1 in the sense of Sivan showing the cracks in his Psyche. He's a lot more than what he appears to be.

These books are just freaking fantastic. They are the stuff nightmares are made of. Utterly disturbing but highly addictive.

Are you ready to run off and join the Circus?
Maybe not but you definitely need to read about it.

Nope. Still not certain what to think of this story. It's a hell of a story that's for sure though. Romance? I'm not certain. Dark? Yep. Ugly? Definitely. Probably needs a warning for child abuse mentions among other things. Don't want to say too much because of spoilers but if anything like that bothers you then don't read these books.

Love Sivan and Imogene, they're both pretty screwed up characters though. The whole history between them is beyond messed up really. Doesn't seem a healthy relationship at all. And yet somehow it all works and leaves you rooting for them to get through all the problems they have.

This one felt more rushed than the first but still... not sure enjoyable is the right word for it. It's dark and sinister and creepy, there's nothing light hearted or fun about it. I thought the ending was perfect. The author stayed true to the characters right to the end, no cop out change of personality or anything like that.

And much as I loved Sivan I think I now find the circus and clowns even more creepy than I did before reading this.
