Since completing this book, it has been banned on retailer outlets. I have to say, this seriously sucks. Censorship is the worst.

Anyway...

This was such a dark read! And I loved every torturous minute of Bennett's writing. Mercy was a fairly short read, but it packed a punch from start to finish. No romance, no frill, no comfort. It is purely despicable (in the best ways) and not for the faint of heart. I am finding out that I love this genre more and more.

There is no doubt this is my kind of book. It's twisted, violent, sadistic, and fucking fantastic.

I cannot wait for the second book! This one ends on a cliffhanger, which left me hanging! I immediately wanted to pick up the next one and keep reading into the night. Once I finish the series, it will easily become one of my favs of 2017.

Holy fuck this book is super dark, and absolutely amazing! This is my first book from this author and definitely not my last.
This is not for the faint of heart that's for sure.

Without going into details. This is about two messed up people coming together. There is mental health issues, murder, and rape.

You have been warned!

This is my first read by this author and it certainly won't be the last especially if this story is anything to go by.

I'm not gonna go into the storyline. The blurb is enough to entice you. I will say this isn't for the faint at heart. It's about two totally twisted characters called Julian and Morgana. Nothing is normal. It's all twisted and dark and I loved it.
Looking forward to reading the next book which I hope we won't have to wait too long for :)

***PLEASE NOTE that the following review is for the original/1st edition of this ebook. I spoke to the author after I posted this review at which time I was informed that the current edition of this book has been thoroughly edited***

This was my first book by Natalie Bennett; I chose it after a friend who likes the same kinds of books as I do recommend it. After just a few pages, I was messaging my friend in anger, asking her why she recommended a book that was so terribly edited! In the very 1st chapter (which is just 13 pages in length), there were 2 instances where 1 sentences I was incorrectly broken down into 2 separate sentences. Here is one example:
“Don’t call him stupid! If you had been driving like a normal person. Instead of trying to go fast like a typical douche bag with a sports car, you would have seen him.” Not only that but Bennett struggles with her vocabulary. For example, she incorrectly used the term OMIT not once but twice in the first chapter alone! “Okay,” I omitted, slanting my eyes down to the blacktop and walking around his car .” AND “She sounded smug, thinking I’d omit. The typos and grammatical errors went on and on, jumping out at me from almost every page! In Chapter 2, Bennett referred to the dog breed dachshund, misspelling it, “Doxen”!!! ARGH!!! Usually, I would quit reading a book with so many errors yet I forced myself to try to ignore them and focus on the story which was difficult to say the least. I chose to continue because I was intrigued by the male main character who was somehow involved with snuff films, abductions, arranging for people to pay to watch murder/rape/torture etc. I-all the things a dark erotica lover like myself enjoys reading about! Like the editing though, the premise and storyline were quite chaotic and hard to follow. Long story short, Natalie Bennett has some GREAT ideas but she desperately needs someone to help her put them on paper!

When A Book Is To Depraved For Amazon (My Ass Has To Read It) Damn, this book is dark with a capital "D!" Dark I tell you, DARK!! Take author's warning seriously! Many.. many triggers going on and definitely not for the faint-of-heart! And you will not find romance or even a HEA....

I absolutely loved this book! Had so much fun (I know I shouldn't have but I did) reading this demented read. Loved all the evil characters.. But my goodness, I felt like I was losing my mind right along with Morgana Sanchez.. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough, I had to know what the hell was going on..... Julian Andreou; is one; crazy, deranged, {sexy} psychotic bastard! Holy crap! This dude was something else! I loved that he was sadistic and stayed sadistic the entire time! Never once was he nice. He stayed true to character. And boy did I love his sadistic ass.. *gasp*

Natalie Bennett - you frickin' rock! I definitely found a new dark author To Crush On . You have a gift for writing pure morbid darkness. Kudos Girl.

Holy sh!t! Natalie Bennett absolutely knows how to write a story that will leave chills and goosebumps on your skin. The way she spins her tale will leave you chilled, thrilled and purposely needing more. Julian has a family secret that caters to the most sadistic tastes, even though he knows the difference between right and wrong. Owning the small town they live in, Julian and his brothers are expected to continue the family legacy, even needing a mistress who will stand by her man. In comes Morgana, who is unlike any other woman; she knows that something dark lives inside of her and that Julian is a monster, but it doesn't stop her heart from loving him.

Natalie Bennett had me going through the ringer as I read. It was so wrong to enjoy how the story unfolded, how Julian loved Morgana in his twisted way and how Morgana was stronger than I could have ever imagined. Ending in a cliffhanger I never could have guessed, I honestly cannot wait for the second installment because I NEED to know what happens to Julian, Morgana and Chateau Delilah.

Holy mother... what did I just read and why did I enjoy it so much?!?

First: a disclaimer. Mercy is dark. And I don't mean dark, I mean DARK! As in chained in a cellar with no windows while blindfolded and groped without consent. That kinda dark. And it's delicious!

At the time of this posting Mercy, which had been slated for release via Amazon & had been available for pre-order for quite some time, has been unceremoniously yanked by Amazon. "Too depraved for Amazon" has become Ms Bennett's rally cry against censorship and I support her wholeheartedly.

This was one amazing read! I don't want to give away story, but suffice it to say Julian is a sadistic, evil man who enjoys the pain of others. Morgana has something broken inside, missing chunks of memory, and enough prescriptions dulling her psyche to knock out a horse. She is a cutter, and somehow when she enters Julian's orbit she finds a man who enjoys delivering the pain she craves. This is not about love, or even lust, rather it's about two needy shattered people with dark hungers.

And plot twists! For a novella, this thing packs whollop after whollop. I've got whiplash! I absolutely cannot wait for the next installments, Bound and Released. I cannot explain how captivating this story is, yet it is NOT for the faint of heart. We're talking torture, murder and rape with the reader as a paying member of the audience. Yet I couldn't look away! Bravo Ms Bennett for taking on such controversial topics and unapologetically taking us along for the ride.

Currently, this title is available only via Smashwords. Please, if you're a fan of dark stories give this one a peek. You'll likely be as transfixed as I was.

I received a ARC copy of this book for an honest review. I am in love with the writing of Natalie Bennett. How have I never heard of her before?! Natalie writes my kind of dark and twisted! I literally read this book within hours of starting it. The book storyline it self is incredible. And the characters are captivating. Morgana and Julian are my new favorite twisted couple. I can not wait for the next book. I'm anxiously waiting for it now.

Very dark book so read at your own risk. This book is full of so much messed up goodness. Every character you meet is messed up in their own way and nothing is how it seems. We only get a taste of what's to come but it's enough to keep the pages turning and have you begging for more. Morgana is about to be taken into a whole new world and we get to ride along with her on this crazy train!!

I can´t say I loved this book. Sometimes it was difficult to read about the violence. But I was spellbound to read it. I really, really couldn´t put it down and it had me at the edge of my seat the whole time.
Mercy ended with a cliffhanger and I can´t wait till book two- Bound- in this series.

This is the first book of a series. Very dark and disgusting and raw. Morgana almost gets hit by a car saving a dog. The driver is Julian gorgeous, perfect sexy guy who won't stop asking her out. Morgana won't give him the time of day since where they live is rumor city and she gets enough drama. Morgana's parents encourage her to go out with Julian and that changes her life forever. Never assume nothing. Wow I'm shocked and speechless this book will have you cringing and hoping it's just a sick dream. Morgana is not your typical twenty year old girl, there's more to her than meets the eye. She has a lot of questions, wanting to know where did her sisters disappear off to. She can't seem to understand why did they just up and leave. She wants to know why her sisters left her behind.

Morgana has a dirty little serect, one that makes her feel ashamed. She gets a thrill from her perversions, they get her wet among other things. She's attracted to the extremely attractive Julian, unaware that he has plans for her, plans that will make you run and shudder. Morgana knows his type, handsome but dangerous.

Julian is gorgeous, cunning and perverse, and knows what he wants and goes after it, and what he wants is Morgan. He's also dangerous along with other members of his family and their closest friends. He doesn't care what he has to do in order to get Morgan. He doesn't give a crap about what's considered right or wrong. He doesn't play by the rules, he breaks them, and leaves a trail of bodies behind.

Morgana has no idea that she's the prey, while Julian is the hunter. She has no idea what's really going on behind the scenes, has no idea that there are even bigger serects surrounding her. She is forced to confront that broken dark side of herself, forced to admit that she's actually like Julian. She is left with a lot of questions, always questioning her sanity.

This book is extremely dark, weird, and fucked up to the tenth power. It's crazy and so good. I can't believe how much I loved it. There are so many shock factors that you're not going to see coming. Readers be prepared to have your minds blown. I'm still recovering from this one and I'm anticipating the next book in the series, Bound. I gave this book a five star rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.

This book was reviewed for Summer's Eve Reads... what a mind****......this is such a dark and malevolent story ....it's sat on my virtual bookshelf with all those other love stories but this is not a romance...there is Julian, a strong, beautiful, possessive man and Morgana, a smart, sassy woman but that is where the similarity ends because in this story the main characters are perfectly imperfect and twisted and their relationship is filled with a carnal sexual tension and despicable acts and secrets..

Riverview is a small rural town with small minded inhabitants; a town ruled over by the wealthy Andreous Family......there is evil in this town; Morgana's sisters have gone missing and not everyone is the person they purport to be."This town has a lot of secrets, Doll face. Don't let your guard down for just anyone. You don't know who' is safe and who isn't." ..if there ever was a point in the plot when the heroine should really pay attention this was it but then where would be the thrill in that....

The characters are so brilliantly written with genteel facades hiding monsters underneath and Morgana, the lead player with her own darkness is such a complete personality thanks to the writing brilliance of the author.

From the first page I was drawn into this awesome tale with it's undercurrent of evil menace ....I can not stress how dark this is...it comes with a warning and for good reason but if you are still tempted then this is a thrilling , wicked journey ending in a cliffhanger which left me with so many questions and unequivocally wanting more...

Unquestionably a dark read that will mess with your head. Mercy incorporates the snuff subject, which to most is very reprehensible and controversial. Snuff is best described as not-so-sane people performing heinous acts to satisfy their own personal fetishes. And boy does Julian have a penchant for such acts.

Morgana, a moderately unbalanced small town girl who desires affliction that brings her pleasure, is pursued by a local family business friend of her father’s. Julian appears to be the perfect answer to her desires. He has demons and secrets of his own.

Our demons were always at the surface and reaching for the other. And that’s what he used me for.

After some insane and deranged events, Morgana has derailed and shit is about to get manic.

Although I found some shifting and loss of elements within the story, it has that shock value. The way in which it was written made it difficult to attach to the characters, but did not deter from the need to continue the story.

Natalie Bennett is quickly moving to the top of my fav author list. Her stories are dark, disturbing, and unapologetic— just the way I like it!

This story leaves you wondering what the hell you just read, but in the best way!

Julian is hard to like, he’s a sadistic killer after all. But oh boy, I found myself rooting for him at times and loving him just as much as I hated him.

I love villains.

Morgana and Julian together— its a bloodbath of dirty dark minds and hot kinky sex.

The ending might not please everyone but it’s great. Just the perfect tragic ending for the two.

I did not realize going in that this was apart of a trilogy, and the fact that I don't like reading series that haven't been completed would have stopped me from picking this up. Im glad i didn't know. I really enjoyed reading this. It was beyond depraved and seriously messed up. Take the warning to heart. There is a bit of confusion with the storyline. I think that by speeding time up some things are lost. But still overall enjoyed it and really cant wait to see where it goes.

I liked the female lead & the male lead and that was about it. The timeline was confusing and not well transitioned. I like a dark read but the whole story was just kind of stupid because it was so OTT and gratuitous. I think the author has potential if she would slow it down and give us time to buy into the plot. Maybe flush out the character and backstory so we give a crap when bad things happen to them. In my opinion the author was just going for shock factor here and not a good story.

The story is really well written and you get to feel and be attached to the characters even though there are twisted .... !!!!!!

I enjoy dark romances & this ticked all the boxes. Given that Amazon banned it made it even more appealing. But... I just couldn't get in with the authors writing style. It lacked character development, description & continuity. It was like something out of a Z rated movie. It jumped from one scenario to another without any connection. It just confused me
