Roman is no ordinary mortician. He works for a vicious gangster by getting rid of his victim's bodies. But betrayal, unexpected partnerships, and a shocking acquisition may bring Roman closer to death than ever before.
Read it when it got translated in english, i've been a follower of the illustrator for years and i'm glad to see their OC's finally made it to a manga story. Really liked this one.
Rating: 4 stars Length: 40 episodes plus Afterword
I really admire the artwork and story writing. Parts are very dark and gory, but other parts are warm and humorous. I found all of the characters very interesting.

It's funny, gore and written in a way that makes you think about deeper things such as the effects of life choices, and one's dreams and aspirations. The story is pleasing to read and the drawings are absolutely amazing. There's no panel that is of lesser quality than the precedent. I thought about taking off a star because of the abrupt ending, but I realize it would have been stupid to do so. The story worked perfectly and I *felt* the themes the author wanted me to think about, the ending was perfect and poetic. It was just different than what I'm used to. Thank you for the ride.
When I read it the first time, I actually didn't really enjoy it until halfway through. I honestly thought the characters were idiots, especially at the beginning of the webtoon.
"That could've been real bad... I'm lucky they all happen to be idiots".
Now, second time reading it, I realize that it was meant to be funny. I've come to realize that I previousIy read this with a wrong genre in mind. I thought it would be something thriller or horror like, something exciting and scary. I mean, yeah it was exciting but there was nothing scarry going on. Because I had the wrong genre in mind when I read it the first time, I didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped I would. Though, pace picked up halfway through and I ended up really enjoying it after all.
Now second time reading it, I knew what to expect! Meaning, I also wasn't looking at it from a wrong point of view. Coffin Jackson is really good! The characters are awesome, I love the humor and the art is absolutely beautiful.
This is a really good series. First of all the art of CTK in this and every single one of their creations is simply stunning, fantastic and inspiring since I did read Midnight Rain I wanted to discover and enjoy more stories of that style and kind. Coffin Jackson is such a great story, it feels almost like a full movie in the 41 chapters we can successfully be part of the Story of Roman and his role in the criminal underworld, and meeting the personalities of the "bad" and "good" guys, all of them are excellent, different and can make you love them such as Jacob, Roman and even Luck which are just so funny and great to feel part of this plot and having a good time following their storyline. This is not what I would usually read but I'm really glad I did. This series is just so good like damn good. It knows how to make feel worried or tensed up and then how to make you laugh, just how a well written story does.
Coffin Jackson has everything you can ask for within a graphic novel.
Amazing drawings and a great story.
The illustrations/drawings speak for itself. As the first few panels within the webtoon just grabs you onto the quality of the work. Grit with beauty. And the quality and artistic level of the drawings never drops. And the only time it does is to showcase the comical scenes within the work. Which are done in a fantastic taste without breaking cohesion within the story.
And the story is short and to the point. So many stories out there drag their stories too long to cash in more onto their audiences, just for the story to derail and flop on itself from the main theme that it was. But not Coffin Jackson. The story knows what it is. Is a crime heist drama with comedy bits there and there. Is not convoluted or downright nonsensical. And it sticks to that. And the struggles they go through makes it funny and entertaining to watch.
And the main characters, especially the different personalities between Roman and Jacob colliding time to time from serious to comical scenes within this story, really blends well in a believable way. The characters seem real. Something a lot series fail to do as well.
This was a page flipper and a great short adventure, and I was glad I picked it up.
Man reading this for free on webtoon everyday felt like waiting for a new episode of tv every week, it was hard but it allowed you to think about what you read, which is something I had to force myself to do with webcomics in general.
ANYWHO, this was well written, the art was amazing I don't think there was a single panel where I thought it looked half-finished or off, which is so applaudable for the amount of effort that was put into this, words couldn't really describe the appreciation I have for the art. The dynamic characters and how they interact with eachother is so straightforward and effective, LIKE DAMN, this was planned out. AND the author knew exactly when to start and when to end, a simple story, that as a once avid webcomic reader would want something more, but I felt satsified at the end of the day.
I hope that more people discover this lovely story and take it in as it is.
