When the last book ended I had no idea that it would start the way it did. Liberty not only leaves her love behind but goes without a clue as to her intentions. When we see her again she’s locked in the dark in a cell in the bowels of Mexico after going off to find John’s daughter. The same daughter John has not been able to find in the years he’s searched. Even with all his connections John has never gotten a whiff of anything positive regarding his daughter but Liberty is both lucky and unlucky in her pursuit.

Liberty finds who she’s looking for only not really. John’s daughter is not the same person she once was. After suffering abuse from her captors and then being rescued by a ruthless cartel leader she’s become hard, cold and uncaring. Far from the innocent 18 year old girl she once was. Unfortunately Liberty suffers a bit at her hands and even though all she wants is to reunite father and daughter, she realizes the daughter part of the equation may not want to return home.

This book took on many darker elements and I think it really added a different dynamic to the book. Sure at times I wanted to smack the crap out of Liberty for being so dense but in some weird way I’m proud of her. She actually accomplished what she set out to do. She found John’s daughter, at least the husk of her.

Not only was this book darker it was also more emotional. Of course John finds his girl but finding his daughter is both a blow to his manhood and his fatherhood. Add to the fact his daughter now despises everything about him and wants nothing more than to return to Mexico leaving poor John tortured and feeling both worthless and useless. A failure as a father both before her kidnapping and after. It will take a lot to reunite this family and bring everyone back to a positive front and it won’t be quick or easy.

Overall I enjoyed this book even more than the first. Perhaps it was the way it started with a bang and a surprise or the fact that the relationship was already started. Many facets made this story interesting and I finished in a matter of hours. I can’t say I didn’t feel violent at times especially towards John’s daughter but I think the many emotions brought to the surface made this series both memorable and really good. Aside from the age difference between John and Liberty there’s not much readers’ won’t enjoy. This is great for a weekend read and if you’re looking for something different this is the perfect solution.

I received a copy of this book in return for a honest review.

Much better. I enjoyed this book much more than the first. I didn't care so much for Liberty's voice in her head. There seemed to be a lot of that voice in the beginning but it got better.

I understood the characters much more and I related to them so much more. I didn't feel like Liberty was as wishy washy in her feelings in this book. I really enjoyed John being true to his love to Liberty, and unlike the first book I saw John's love for her. Unlike so many other books where characters get together and then some kind of drama pulls them apart, this book when drama happened it made the characters closer. And I really like that, it doesn't happen often in books and it's nice to see that happen.

Overall nice job on this story.

**I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review**

This book begins with Liberty in Mexico. Captured after asking too many questions. When John comes to save the day, he gets more than he bargained for.

Back at the Rhode Island house, Liberty insists on not leaving John's side. Even when he goes on missions. So now, she has to train just as they do and get herself back to normal and then some. Boy did she rethink that!

On their mission, she starts to think twice. Maybe she'll let John go without her from now on. Maybe.

Things don't happen the way they should (do they ever?) but at least she got to see her girls at the Treasure Chest one last time.

This book starts a bit after book 1 left off, but not too long after. This book was kept at the same speed with just a bit more schmexy added. Again, it kept me on my toes, guessing from page to page.

I thought there might be a little more action in this book, but it was ok that there wasn't. It worked good this way. The only thing I didn't understand was that this book was broken up into 3 books/sections within itself. I didn't understand why. Most of the time when this happens there is a bit of a time lapse between each section but this book continued where the last chapter (sometimes paragraph) left off. It didn't make sense to me to split it up that way at all. Two sections would have been possible if the first section was based in Rhode Island and the goings on there, and the second section based in Brazil with that expanded a bit to include a search for Darius, etc. This book would have been good as a whole, no sections.

Overall, it was a good book and I really enjoyed this series!

********Received and ARC of this book via the author in exchange for an honest review*********

Liberty At Last was MUCH better than Liberty Begins. This one was more action packed, more drama, and more dialogue. I was pulled in from the first page. It started off with Liberty being held captive in Mexico trying to find John's daughter Catherine. What she didnt expect was to be captured by Catherine and her peoples. We got to see more of the operation side of John's business and I loved it. I felt like I was reading/watching one of the Die Hard movies or GI Joe. LOL! As much as I love romance in my books, I love action and drama. Talk about exciting and keeping you on the edge of your seat. Whew! I was sweating bullets reading this book.

I could actually feel the love connection between Liberty and John. It was believable in Liberty Begins but the author sharpened her skills for book 2. Now what I didnt understand is why John let Liberty run the show in regards to who gets killed and how they run an operation. Clearly he was p**** whipped b/c she was manipulating the heck out of him. People almost died because of her stupidity. So having said all of that, Liberty has officially gone on my "most annoying females" list. This would have been a 5 star book if it wasnt for Liberty and her "talk it out" antics.

The ending seemed a little rushed for me. Even though there was an epilogue, I was still left hanging with several questions. I am shocked that this is coming out of my mouth, but I wouldnt mind a book about Catherine. I would love to read about her story, post Mexico and Angel. Overall, this is a good series to read.

Wow, wow, WOW! This book was nothing like what I expected. It took me by surprise and drug me on a wild ride that I never saw coming.

With the first book, I was unsure of Liberty. She was well written, don't get me wrong. But I didn't like her decisions. With the beginning of this book, she continued with those careless decisions. But wow. Once I got into the story, I saw Liberty in a different light. Leigh James did an excellent job at writing her character arc flawlessly. By the time I finished this book, I thought back to the Liberty that we first met and can definitely see a difference in her.

The secondary characters were some of my favorites in this story. I adored Ian, John's father. The scenes with him often left a smile on my face. And Matthew become such a big brother type to Liberty. I found myself reading ahead during the action scenes to make sure he was okay. (Leigh, you almost killed me with that scene in the strip club with Matthew!) And Catherine? My favorite character. Sure, she's crazy beyond repair. But she was that type of crazy that you just can't look away from and giggle at when she has her moments.

Overall, I enjoyed the two books in this series. Leigh James is a very good writer, and I've enjoyed getting lost in her world. This book is fast paced, and I found myself growing antsy whenever I neared the final chapters of the book. I wasn't ready to leave the world of Liberty and John behind. That tells me all I need to know about these books! Again, New Adult fans will devour this series!

**I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. My thanks to Leigh James.

Liberty now knows that she is in love with John and wants to be with him but she is convinced in order to do so, she needs to make things right for him like he made things right for her. So, she heads to Mexico to try and find his daughter who went missing years before. But what she finds isn't what she expected and in opening old wounds has she made things worse instead of better?

Unlike the first book which is all about Liberty and John coming together, this book is almost nonstop action with a little love and sex thrown in for good measure. I found Liberty to be a little annoying at times in this one and it did drag at a couple of points for me but otherwise, I really enjoyed it. There is a lot going on so you defiantly need tore ad book one first. The cast of supporting characters area great additional to this story.

My thoughts:

Quick hook or slow starter? 3.5 (After book ones cliffhanger, I was hooked but a couple of points dragged for me)
Character development: 4
Level of Romance between characters: 4
Passion/Heat level: 4 (sex scenes are well written and hot)
Angst/Heartbreak: 4 (some angst because you know right from the start that something bad is coming)
Cliffhanger?: Nope, HEA in the end although it would have been nice to get a little peak into their future.

Overall,I enjoyed this series. I thought it was well written and entertaining with just the right amount of heat. I look forward to reading more books from this author.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. The second book in this series is broken down in to three sections.
Starting off a few weeks later than where the first ended, with Liberty being held captive by Johns daughter. Tortured and nearly starved, she is slowly losing her will to live. Rescued by John and his team, they make their way back over the mexican boarder, with Catherine an unwilling passenger. But with the head of the cartel on their tale, the journey is far from smooh.
The next part of the book is similar to the first with daily boot camp to help Liberty gain her weight and muscle back after her imprisonment, getting ready for a final mission in terminating Darius. With Catherine still wanting to return to Mexico, emotions and drama are high in this section.
The final part of the book is much more action packed, with everything coming to a close. Spread across 3 countries, the team have to finish their mission and save Catherine once more.
Overall this book had much more action than the first, making it a hard one to put down. Well written and fantastically cut into three sections, the suspense has you wanting to read much faster than possible!
The small thing that had me cringing from time to time was Libertys "inner voice”. While I understand where the author was coming from, the way the voice was made to be like a different person made her seem to have a split personality at times.
Overall a riveting read.

This book contains adult subject matter and is intended for mature readers.

Liberty has gone on a mission of sorts to find John Quinn's daughter and
reunite them, however Liberty soon realizes that things are not as she
had hoped. Not only does John's daughter want nothing to do with him,
she has also made some rather well known and dangerous friends along the
way. John and his crew manage to find Liberty before she gets in too
far over her head, but then Liberty and John must deal with his
daughter, his ex-wife, and their feelings for each other. For those who
enjoyed Liberty in the first part of this series you will also enjoy the
rest of her adventure. Once again Liberty has the chance to create the
life she has always wanted and never dared to dream of, but she must
choose carefully and figure out how to fit the pieces together. Nothing
you've ever dreamed of comes easy and Liberty knows it. A loveable
heroine and an action packed fast paced story make this a great read.

3.5 stars
Disclaimer: I received a book in exchange for an honest review.

After the first book's cliffhanger, I was excited to start reading this one!
First of all I have to say that I thought Liberty's decision to go to Mexico by herself showed a bit of immaturity and I also think it would be difficult for someone to do that in real life. If John hadn't found his daughter and he had a team helping him, why would she think that she could do it? Seemed a little bit weird to me!

I think the preface is really good, it leaves you thinking about it throughout the book. The story kept me turning pages, it's really well written, and I love some of the characters like Matthew and I also love John and Liberty and their relationship.

This is not my favourite type of book, it has a lot of violence, action scenes, and guns for my and that's probably why I can't give it more than 3.5 stars.

I liked how it ended but I would have liked a longer epilogue, perhaps showing their life years later with the children Liberty kept dreaming about? I think I'd like that.

This book picked up right where Liberty Begins left off. Liberty ran away from John and the team in Vegas and went to Mexico...crazy doesn't begin to describe this girl. Anyway, just like the first book this one is filled with action, lots of bad guys that John and the rest of his team of good guys need to go after and take care of. There is of course a lot of sex (even more then the first book) and they were a roller coaster of emotions.

I really enjoyed this book and even though it is suppose to be the last of the two book series, I see a little opening for a book three or even a novella as a follow-up. I would definitely be interested in reading it if it were to happen!

I revive a copy of this book for an honest review.

This book rocked. I am a huge fan of romance and in this book it had it all!!! I really loved the action that was in this one.

I won't guess too much away but this one started 3 weeks from the end of the last one And to say I was thrown for a loop is an understatement! I didn't expect for any of that too happy and well it did. I was so happy then mad and confused. But as the story went on I began to understand. The action In This book was just amazing. The age difference bothered me a little more in this one then the last one but only because but other then that it was ok. I loved how liberty tryed everything thing she could to make john happy as it worked. I won't give details :)
This was an amazig book and hope to read more in the furture from this author.
The reason for 4 stars is because the ending just seemed like it lacked. But still an amazing read!

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review. So in book one I thought Liberty and John's relationship was a little rushed... book two completely fixed that! I felt like looking back they had a strong attraction in book one and in two they actually fell in love! I really enjoyed this book. It kept me interested, and the characters really developed for me. At the end I was getting upset that it was over! I did wish that Catherine had ended up in love. I'm hoping there will be another book with her story.. I really think she needs a new husband :)

I was disppointed in book 2 of this series. It lacked action and I found myself flipping through the pages quickly. The heroine's actions seemed less than plausible to me. I haven't decided whether to move on to book 3 of the series.

This book wasn't any better than the first book. I can NOT stand Liberty. I spent the whole book wanting to strangle her and her thoughts. She's a hot mess. John has potential but then Liberty opens her mouth and he turns into a complete joke of a man. This whole I can't spend a day without you is nauseating. Seriously, this whole book it's like wait, I want you to quit what you've dedicated your life to do. And John's all like, of course, babe, anything for you. Then she all of a sudden remembers he employs people that depend on that paycheck...whatever. Or even better yet, let's have the crazy guy who wants to kill his brother, let's have them sit down and "talk" it out. LOL. And what does John say, you know I can't say no to you babe. And then said brother shoots up the strip club. Seriously, this is one of the worst series I've read to date. I'm not even sure if I can stomach the last book.

Adventure

When one wants to live they do It for the one they love and for the family they have missed for 6 years. Adventure, drama and death will only get you to the next page or will it! Will it end with happiness or will you be left to fight Another Day! . I say if you read it you will be hooked.. Don't forget the first book or you will be forever gone......... And the story continues!

Liberty has been captured searching for John's daughter. Turns out John's daughter's husband captured her. John goes to get her and brings both Liberty and his daughter home. Liberty and John's love continues to get stronger. John's daughter disapproves but realizes later that they belong together. John takes on a job that is supposed to be the last one. They end up back at the strip club she used to work at. Will they make it out alive? Great story!!!!

Very involved story that keeps you guessing

I loved the characters in this book—the length was necessary to develop each and every one. I couldn’t help but root for Liberty and John the entire time. Great combination of intricate plot, character development and sex.
