Adolf Hitlers 'Mein Kampf': Zur Poetik des Nationalsozialismus

Anfang 2016 wird Adolf Hitlers Mein Kampf im Rahmen einer wissenschaftlich kommentierten Edition zum ersten Mal seit Kriegsende wieder in Deutschland zu kaufen sein. Die Veröffentlichung bietet Anlass, aufs Neue den furchtbaren Erfolg der ›Bibel der Nazis‹ zu ergründen. Es ist nämlich keinesfalls klar, warum das politisch wirre, peinlich geifernde und eigentlich nicht ernstzunehmende Machwerk eine solche Wirkung erzielen konnte. Angesichts offensichtlicher inhaltlicher Absurditäten, die auch schon zu Zeiten der Originalveröffentlichung bemerkt wurden, nähert sich Albrecht Koschorke dem Buch mit literaturwissenschaftlichem Instrumentarium. Welche Erzählstrategien hat Hitler benutzt, welche Lesepraxis hat er angeregt? Und was hat es damit auf sich, dass das Buch trotz enormer Verbreitung, kaum gelesen wurde? Der literaturwissenschaftliche Blick enthüllt, dass es Hitler entgegen allem Anschein nicht in erster Linie um die fanatische Verbreitung einer Wahrheit ging, sondern darum, Anhänger wie Gegner zu einer Reaktion zu zwingen.

Pretty decent book analysing the implicit allure Mein Kampf managed to exert in spite of its unreadability and general negative critical reception. Koschorke presents Hitler’s book as something akin to Machiavelli’s The Prince, a guide on how to conduct effective propaganda that allows one to terrorise the opposition, bring in the dissuaded through a pact of initiation (‘you’ve read my book Mein Kampf this far so you can’t be one of the feckless masses/rabble’) and allows one to feel as if they can become a Nazi while maintaining an ironic and mocking position towards Hitler, thinking they could puppet this unthinking brute and quietly giggle at his insane theories on biological racism all the while secretly guiding him into which ever idiosyncratic direction they wanted (that went well didn’t it....)

All this so a few dishevelled bohemians could get their hands on power and point a gun in the face of people more educated than themselves. What a colossal fuck up. Still, Bataille was quite right to dedicate himself to examining this quixotic logic in the 1930’s and see how it could be implemented in a Leftist regime, you might hate the Nazis (join the club) but you’ve got to admit those bastards did really whip up the fanaticism of Germany in an astounding, and profoundly disturbing, manner.

قرائتی متفاوت و جالب از کارکرد پروپاگاندا در جذب افراد - به خصوص نخبگان - در رژیم‌های فاشیستی ارائه میکرد. هر چند که به دلیل حجم کم کتاب به نظرم تجزیه و تحلیل مطلب بسیار ناکافی انجام شده بود. چندان هم که از اسم کتاب پیداست تمرکز بر نبرد من نیست.

Kitap, Adolf Hitler'in Kavgam kitabı ve bu kitap etrafında yaratılan miti konu alıyor.

Yazar, yaptığı çıkarımlar için, özellikle Gustave Le Bon'un Kitleler Psikolojisi adlı kitabında ileri sürdüğü fikirlerden faydalanıyor. Le Bon'un, kitleleri ardından sürükleyen "Önder" için kullandığı "saplantılı bir fikrin tutsağı olan ve bu fikirle kitleleri hipnotize etmek isteyen biri" tanımı ile kitleler için kullandığı "tamamen pasif ve telkine son derece açık olan, taklit içgüdülerine hitap edilerek yön verilen" tanımlarını daha 1895'te yapmış olması, Hitler ve benzerlerini düşününce hayli ilginç geliyor.

Yazar, kitlelerin, meydana gelen absürdlüklere neden isyan etmediği sorusuna da kısaca değiniyor ve bunun nedenini, kollektif örgütlülüğe sahip olmadıkları için harekete geçemediklerini ve ihtiyaç duydukları lojistiğin de halihazırda iktidarın elinde olmasının bu pasifliği kolaylaştırması olarak açıklıyor.

Yazar ikinci bölümde, Kavgam kitabı türündeki kitaplarda yer alan cümlelerin son derece tutarsız ve bahsettiği konuların da ortaya karışık olduğunu (aynı NSDAP'ın parti programının belirsiz oluşu gibi), kitabın kendisini okuyan hatta tamamını okuyan sayısının çok az olduğunu ve kitlelerin bu tür kitapları, yalnızca "dolaşıma sokulan alıntılar" üzerinden bildiğini ileri sürüyor. Bu da, kitabın "sırrına vakıf olma" durumuna göre değişen rütbelere sahip bir ruhban sınıfının oluşmasına katkı sağlıyor, bu ruhban sınıfı, kitabı okumamış olanlar karşısında ayrıcalık kazanıyor ve rehberlik görevini üstleniyorlar haliyle, diyor.

Son olarak ilgimi çeken bir nokta da, fikirlerin kaynağının neresi olduğuydu; Önder mi, kitleler mi yoksa elitler mi. Fikrin entellektüel çevrelerden çıktığını, defalarca yansıtılıp çarpıtıldığını ve son olarak hayli deforme olmuş bu fikrin tabandan tavana dönüşüm sağladığını ileri sürüyor yazar ama bu konu tartışmaya açık tabii ki.

Kitapla ilgili olarak söylemeden geçemeyeceğim bir şey daha var; bu kitabın da, aslında, içinde barındırdığı alıntı metinleriyle birlikte, Kavgam kitabının efsaneleşmesine istemeden de olsa katkıda bulunan bir kitap olduğu gerçeği :). Buna belki bu kitabın bir "çelişkisi" de denebilir :).

This book laid out the strategies and psychologies of fascism and antisemitism in such a concise and lucid way. Particularly, Koschorke’s thesis that a dejected “intellectual precariat” is one of the driving forces of radical politics was fascinating and prompted some sober self-reflection on my part.

The Pseudo-Intellectual

This is a fascinating, though quite short read. The author in essence tries to see what makes an individual radicalised, and what methods people use to radicalise them use. Usually, it involves a certain book, but that book must, in one aspect or another, be quite unreadable and thus only ‘known’ by a few.

Hitler understood it seems this fault in human psyche, and exploited it, as it became quite apparent, to the maximum. Koschorke is quite right in stating that we must not shy away from such individuals and discussions, but must instead try and see what made them so successful.

Finally, and I think most importantly, we must see what is it in for the people that join such cults. As he says in the last page of the book, “we must look at the opportunities that radicalisation creates” p.66. All form of radicalisation promises something in one way or another’ being part of a family, career prospects, respect, companionship, etc. We must be on the lookout for such individuals, and try and help them before they seek refuge somewhere else.

I purchased this book at the Holocaust Museum in DC. I have never read Mein Kampf (nor do I have a desire to), but I felt this book would give me a basic understanding of it. The first part was hard to get past, but well worth it as the second and third are very well thought out. It breaks my heart that antisemitism is on the rise again. No county was faultless in regards to the war or taking in refugees. I read this book and I can see the unhealthy patterns mentioned in America. The same kind Hitler used to persuade the wrong group of people to rise up. I only hope there is still a chance for the US to turn around.

There were elements I was unfamiliar with. The book is really a work of political science and secondarily maybe sociology. But only about a third of the book is actually about Mein Kampf; and it really isn't information about the book but something akin to ruminations by the author about certain trends he's perceived and what they mean.

I appreciated the attitude to scholarship on this topic here, as he signaled several times throughout a desire to learn and understand while avoiding projections historians and political scientists so often cast onto the events and characters of 20th-century history.

Interesting little read. I wouldn't say I learned a lot about the book it's supposed to be about, though. But interesting nonetheless.

Kitabın dili ve çevirisi oldukça karmaşık. Bir cümleyi anlamak zaman zaman bulmaca çözmeye dönüşüyor. Bunda, biraz da çevirmenin, Türkçe'ye yabancı dillerden yerleşen jargonun yerine, daha az bilinine, Öztürkçe karşılıkları kullanma ısrarı rol oynuyor.

Kitap, Nasyonal Sosyalizm'e, Hitler'e ve onun Kavgam kitabına liberal açıdan bir eleştri getiriyor ve sınıfsal bakışdan soyutluyor. Faşizmin sınıfsal kitle dayanağını (lümpen proleterya, küçük burjuvazi, köylülük) meslek gruplarına indirgiyor.

Gene de, ileride Kavgam'ı okumak istiyorsanız, bir giriş olarak kabul edilebilir.

Arendt'in bir tur ozeti ile Weber'in burokrasi hakkinda yazilarinin Hitler Almanyasi'na uyarlanmis hali. Kitabin problemi eser miktarda prekarya cozumlemesi yapip, kucuk burjuvaziyi isin icine hic katmamasi. Yani iktidara gelisinin politik bir tarihi degil, iktidara gectikten sonra nasil idare ettiginin bir tarihi. Ustelik teror mekanizmasinin yalnizca ikincil etkilerini hesaba katarak.

Bazi kisimlari gunumuz diktatorlerini cagristiriyor. Zaten bir ornegi de direk ele almis durumda. Bazi kisimlari kitap kultu toplumlarini kisaca analiz ediyor. Yeniden hatirlamak ya da hic Arendt okumamislara Arendt'in ve hatta Frankfurt okulunun Almanya analizi icin bir giris icin iyi olabilir.

Üç aşağı beş yukarı bilindik bir eksende hareket eden, argümanları şaşırtmayan bir kitap. Gel gör ki Ruhname'nin bir uzay kapsülünün içerisinde evrenin derinliklerine fırlatılarak Niyazov'un uzayda da yad edildiğinden bu kitapla haberim oldu. Şaşırtmazken şaşırtabildi.
