The greatest love story of all time -- indeed, beyond time -- is contained in the Bible. From the first sentence of Genesis to the last "Amen" of Revelation, every act of God the Father is motivated by His love for God the Son, Jesus. All of creation was made for (and through) Jesus; all of Old Testament history pointed toward the coming of Jesus; and at the end of Time, all of creation will belong to, and be ruled by, Jesus. And Christians, who are adopted brothers and sisters of Jesus, will be part of that glorious future ...
(There were a few errors found in the text of the Kindle version: location 139, Yes he is / Yes, he is ; 163, kind of equality isn't it / equality, isn't it ; 206, To head off this error Paul makes / error, Paul makes ; 420, there was world of meaning / there was A world ; 981, Is this too much take in? / too much TO take in? ; 983, and martials them into his army / and MARSHALS them .)

I've long been looking for a book on the Trinity that doesn't leave me more confused about the subject than when I began. This was recommended to me by a friend and I heartily recommend it in turn. It was thorough, engaging, well-written, and grounded firmly in Scripture. It wasn't stretched out unnecessarily with lots of "padding" - which I think can be a bit of a common fault of Christian non-fiction these days. I found the analogies used throughout incredibly helpful, in particular the visual diagrams which clarify the relationships between the different members of the Trinity. Moody takes a difficult topic and makes it clear and accessible through his overarching theme/lens - that everything makes sense in light of the Father's love for the Son. I will be returning to this one again and again!

Both simple and profound; logical and satisfyingly heartwarming. I like. Great starting point or easy refresher on the Trinity.

Chapter 1 and 2 give a good description of the Trinity, not as a three in one mathematical confusion, but using "Through" and "From". God the Father does everything through his eternal son. Jesus does everything from the Father. So whenever we see Jesus, we see his Father's nature and power working through him.
Then it seems to become quite unstructured. Good thoughts in the rest of the chapters, but just not collated effectively. I was confused at times how it linked to the title of "In Light of the Son".
I wish there was a bit better structure to the book, then it would be brilliant. It just seems like God the Father and Jesus are linked, this is amazing! And let me show you all these random ways they come across in the bible.
