Cali Black & Kisha: An Urban Romance

Rate this book
Cali Black, a tall, charcoal-complexioned, heavyset and laid back man, loves women. He, however, has no plans on settling down with one. Lakisha Long, the love of his life, is a young, mixed, petite, and overall beautiful woman. But she's hotheaded; however, she will ride or die for Cali Black. He hates that she lets her father run her life and blames her father for the death of their unborn child.

When Cali Black meets a much older woman named Sharika, he feels obligated to take care of her and her three kids. However, his relationship with Lakisha doesn't end, and she causes problems between him and Sharika. A side chick is something Lakisha will never be. She goes crazy over Cali Black and finds herself in a jail cell. She would do anything for him, and that pisses Sharika off.

What Cali Black doesn't know is that Lakisha has been hustling tricks with the help of her road dog, Misako. When she runs into the wrong trick, all types of drama breaks out. By now, Lakisha is in too deep because she's low on cash and in desperate need of money. If Cali Black ever found out about her trickin', he'd drop her for good, and there is no way Lakisha will let that happen.

When Lakisha’s lies and secrets catch up to her, will she lose the only friend she has? Will Cali Black be finished with her for good? If you're a fan of African American urban romance and women fiction you'll definitely love this.

This was a good book, but difficult for me because I have a relative living a very similar story. All I can say bis there isn't enough love in the world to make to go through what Kisha went through with Cai Black. I pray I never in her shoes.

WTW!

I'm all in my feelings right now about how this book ended! So many unanswered questions are left to the imagination. I wanted to reach into this book and beat some sense into Kisha. Cali was a manipulative, no good sucker that loved her in his own way. I was upset with Richard at first but after finishing you definitely understood his behavior when it came to Kisha. I felt bad for Lina. So much drama to go through for so long. I was definitely wishing Maurice could have changed her way of thinking when it came to men.

Uhhh

I gave this book four stars because at the very beginning this book was good. I'm the middle it started to fall off then it picked back up at the end. This book is listed as a stand alone but it definitely could use a part two. Kisha just was way too stupid for Cali Black. Like everything he said was law. I can't stand him, he treats women so bad.

Good Read.

Kisha went through some things and it was all because of who she fell in love with! Cali Black was a DOG! The things he put Kisha through was crazy. He was so manipulative! I couldn't stand him. Misako was wrong for what she did to Kisha. Kisha had some serious growing up to do. All her choices were based on the love she had for a man that I don't believe loved her. She should have listened to her father. The situations she placed herself in were ridiculous. I felt so bad for her. That ending was beyond crazy!

I wasn't going to read this at first, but glad i did

I loved this book at first when I started it irritated me a little, but the more I read I was getting hooked on these two, simply off the hook getting ready to start part two. Excellent read.

Good book to read. Sometimes there was too much going on with the characters.

Each character needs to have his or her issue fully explained, not rushed along. This is what makes the book hard to follow.

Young and dumb

I found myself starting to read and then putting this book down several times. I became so disgusted at Keisha that I had to take a break from her. She had to be one of the stupidest characters that I have ever read about. I wanted to jump into the storyline and slap some sense into her. I had to keep reminding myself that this was just a story and not real life. Cali Black was a trifling dog. I couldn't stand the way that he manipulated and used her. Poor Keisha really thought that he loved her the way that she loved him. He knew this and used it to his advantage. I really struggled to finish this story. It's a good thing that it's a standalone. I don't think that I can take anymore of her stupidity.

That was no conclusion there MUST be another part I was hoping...for me I'm had no closure ......THESE CHARACTERS WAS INSANE WITH ISSUES ...THE STORYLINE WAS BANANAS THO ....ENTERTAINING WITH PAGE TURNING DRAMA ......OUT FREAKING STANDING I NEED CLOSURE......

Great Read

LaKisha went through so much because she was just young dumb and in love. At times I felt like Cali did have some feelings for Kisha. But then the way he would talk to her was just ridiculous. A lot of the things she went through was mainly her fault. I don't agree with her father for lying on her in the beginning and sending her to jail. But everything else the fighting and putting up with him disrespecting her was all on her. I hope there is a part two and Kisha gets herself together.. not only for the sake of her but for her baby too. Great Read

Wow

Kisha was looking for love in all the wrong places. To cause her to do the dumb mess she was doing. She let all the men she come across to walk all over her for a buck Cali black never was nothing to her he played her time and time again. Richard was a jerk he the one caused her to lose he baby by stepping on her stomach. All in all the characters was seriously flawed which make it a great read! And the plot of the story was very relatable

Good Book With A lot of Troubled Souls

Lakisha is a young girl with a troubled soul. Cali Black must have put some kind of voodoo on her, because there is no way she should be so dumb over him. She just can't seem to get her life together and it's because she can't get over this hold that Cali Black has over her. I know this book was supposed to be a standalone, but I would like to see Lakisha finally start making smart decisions with her like.

Good read

Wow this book is definitely a must read for young girls who think they are grown. I wanted to reach into the book and shake Kisha. I guess that's what happens when your young and in love. You won't listen to anybody no matter how that boy treats you. I hope there is going to be a part 2 so we can see if Kisha grows up or not.

Poor Kisha

If anybody had a rough life it was Kisha. Nothing could go right for Kisha Long. Callie Black is a poor excuse for a man. I can't wait for part two, La'Quana Jones you left me hanging.
