What sets this book apart?
Unlike many singing books that simply tell you what to do, Singing 101 explains why each technique works and how to apply it across different genres and voice types. The explanations are grounded in both centuries of vocal tradition and current scientific research, helping you understand how your voice functions and how to care for it. You'll learn about resonance, alignment, muscle balance, and how to troubleshoot common vocal issues before they become habits.

This book also includes chapters

Breathing and support techniques

Releasing jaw and tongue tension

Understanding your voice type

Expressing emotion through tone and style

Building long-term vocal stamina

Recommend this for people starting out- definitely not for intermediate of advanced singers. Basic info. Nancy is a great person and I’ve worked with her before. This is designed for those just starting to get their feet wet.

Some of this was a nice refresher from my weekly voice lessons while other bits of it were things I had not heard. This book is designed to be more of a practice book so it is a quick read. I feel like it's a nice reference book but I also think there are other better music books out there.
