I’m an unashamed cover slut and this book has mighty fine candy on its front. I’d barely skimmed the blurb (werewolf, rock star, one night stand) and I was clicking the Amazon BUY button. Three adored tropes. I read a little further. Aaron is bored with the constant platitudes of women and wants a single night of anonymity with a woman who wants him for himself. Melody wants a single night of no-strings-hot-sex. I was completely on board with the premise.
It delivered, but it was… light. Short and hot, true, but no substance. I know it’s only intended as a short story, but I wanted a little more something. A hint of conflict. The reveal to be drawn out a wee bit longer. One sniff told him she was his human mate and I got excited, but it was all accepted too easily.
The writing was delicious, the werewolf rocker as delectable as I’d hoped, but there was potential for so much more. Like picking up a box of chocolates and finding only two left, I wanted more.
However, Mina Carter’s writing is smooth and skilled, and I will definitely read more of her work based on this little teaser. :-)

Герои банальны до зубовного скрежета. Рок-звезда, красивый сам собою, петр*хавший все, что шевелилось и не очень, от передоза секаса разочаровался в бабах и не понимает, пачиму они такие подлые, все только и хотят чего-то от него поиметь - кто бабло, кто генофонд. В общем, ужас, жизнь - тлен, надо найти ту убогую, тьху, невинную, кто еще не слышал завывания его супер-пупер группы, а значит не знает его физиономию.
И вот, такая чума египетская обнаруживается. У Мелоди нет мужика. Это грустно. Единственный, кто озаботился сей бедой - ее брат, крутой ветеран-морпех. Братишка договаривается с какой-то мадам Евой, сильно смахивающей на сутенершу, устроить сестренке перепих на одну ночь. То ли у брата странно с чувством юмора, то ли совсем все хреново в Датском королевстве.
Ну в общем, герои встретились, разумеется, устроили секс-марафон, разумеется, Мелоди совершенно внезапно оказалась суженой нашего рокера, разумеется, он позвал ее замуж. ХЭ.
В общем, кабы не финт ушами брата - история была бы еще банальнее и унылее. А так балл за новую грань чуши.

Melody is on an archaeology dig where she thinks she finds proof of werewolves even before they were have thought to be around. While she's testing the samples she found, her friend sets her up with a kind of dating agency. It's been a couple of years since she dated anyone and her friend thinks she needs to get back out there. Melody agrees and goes off to meet her date, Aaron. Where she's taken is a lavish estate which makes her think her date is wealthy. But Aaron just wants to spend some time with a woman who has no idea he's a rock star. For their date he just wants to be a man...even though he's a werewolf.
These two hit it off right from the very beginning. Aaron senses that she's his mate right away and Melody is attracted to him, so much so that they start making out a few minutes after meeting. They spend the night in bed and get really close. It isn't until the next morning when she hears him singing that she realizes who he really is and when they are about to spend more time together he gets an emergency phone call and has to leave.
While Melody is on her way home, something bad happens and she loses his phone number that he scribbled on the back of her hand. That was the only way she had to get a hold of him since she never gave him her phone number. But they do find their way back to one another and it was as good as I hoped it would be. These two were meant to be together, if only they could get rid of the stalker who is making both of their lives a living hell.
This was so much fun and Holy Hotness, Batman! These two were sexy as hell together. Aaron is one alpha werewolf who knows exactly what he wants and he wants Melody.

This was pretty good, if you didn't read the original series you wouldn't notice a few things. For example, the 1 night stand service was blurred over, Barrett never becomes their security until the 3rd book I think and the thing about his brother wasn't spoken about till book 3. Felt very mish mashed due to trying to fit 3 other pieces from the later stories in here.

There are so many things I love about this novella! * counts with fingers * Rockstars. Werewolves. Archaeology. Strong Heroine. Super sexy 1 Night Stand turned Forever. It's a handful of yummyness! I can't seem to read a 1Night Stand novella and not applaud, whoever is gathering these gems together is doing a banging job! Yes bun intended, lot of banging going on in these. ;)
Loved cocky Aaron and his werewolf rockstar stamina! He was genuinely surprised that Melody hadn't heard of him and even more pleasantly surprised to find out she was to be his mate - one night was quickly forgotten to be replaced by an ache for forever. Melody was a no nonsense kind of girl, her adversity to glitz was charming as were her care-not attitude towards the "rockstar wannabe" statues of her one night of fun - that she was guilted into by her brother. These two had chemistry a mile wide, and Melody's brassiness surprised not only Aaron but me, who knew an archaeologist with no outside-work desires wasn't afraid of a little dirty talk!
Oh and if you're a bit of a cover whore like me... isn't the cover just drool worthy!?

So…Melody – an archaeologist – hooks up with Aaron -- a rock star werewolf -- for an arranged, extravagant, one night stand. Insta-sex, a crazed fangirl, insta-love. The end. I’ll admit that the story was kinda’ cute though.

Melody’s Wolf is the first book in the Lyric Hounds series by Mina Carter and its also the 170th book in the 1NightStand series. 1NightStand series is a series that is written by several authors about a mysterious woman who sets up one night stands that end up with the couple having a happily ever after. I chose this book because I love a good werewolf (or shifter) book.
Melody is an archaeologist on the hunt for evidence of werewolf packs. She has not had a relationship in two years so her brother sets up a one-night stand. I loved that Melody was not a slim stick of a woman. She reflect what many woman look like today without a poor body image.
Aaron is the lead singer for the rock band Lyric Hounds and is also a werewolf. Aaron is tired of all the fame and wants one girl that see him for him and not as a rock star. Therefore, Aaron signs himself up for a one-night stand. The one thing that bugged me was while Aaron is a shifter he does no shift in the book. The only indication that he something other than human is his sense of smell.
The chemistry between Melody and Aaron is scorching. The sex scenes is blistering. Melody is the perfect woman for Aaron in so many ways. Melody and Aaron have a great chance at a relationship.
I found this story to be well written and the characters interesting. I would love to know more about Melody and Aaron. This is the first book by Ms. Carter that I have read and I will be on the lookout for more by her in the future as well as other books in the Lyric Hounds series. Overall, I enjoyed this book a lot.

As one of the 1NS series, this one was quick to the point and resolved well in the short amount of pages it had. I loved the idea of a werewolf rockstar and it was fun that he was paired up with a studious archeologist.
Aaron has had his fill of the rockstar lifestyle and just wants a nice quiet weekend to recharge. He asks Madame Eve's service to find him someone that has never heard of him.
Melody has buried herself in her work and her brother worries that she is missing out on life. He sets her up with Madame Eve's series and persuades her into taking a chance.
This is a fated mate story, but I don't mind those and I really liked the two people involved. In fact, my only disappointment was wanting more time with Aaron and Melody. She surprised me as much as she did Aaron when she showed that she was no shrinking violet.
Now I look forward to reading Melody's brother Barrett's story. I recommend this one for those who just want something quick that offers something hot and yet romantic.

What a fun little hot read. I am a sucker for shifters and for rockers, so this 1NS was right up my alley. Mina has a fun sense of humor and I simply adore the fact that Melody was an extremely intelligent woman. Yes she melted into a silly pile of goo for her wolf, but who wouldn't. I hope that the author writes a story for her brother. I found myself thinking of him long after his scene with Melody. If you want a short, hot, fun shifter read, you will probably really like this book.

Melody Simmons is an archeologist and when she meets her blind date, Aaron Rixx, leader of the werewolf band The Lyric Hounds, she has no idea who he is. She just knows that they have perfect chemistry, despite the appearance of a rock star. Aaron knows that Melody is his perfect mate. Their night together is spectacular, but Melody doesn't expect anything afterwards, believing it was a one night stand but hoping for more. Aaron has to dash off to rescue his sister but promises to be in touch. An obsessed fan and some ill timed pictures send Aaron into a panic because he has no idea how to find his mate nor how to tell her it was all a set up.
My first Mina Carter story. I'm always kind of intrigued by rock stars but hate the lifestyle they live, so I liked the fact that Aaron was trying to set aside the lifestyle and find a woman to settle down with. For that matter it was interesting to see the juxtaposition of a tattooed, pierced, long-haired rocker and a staid, but feisty nerd. I wish there had been more focus on the different lifestyles that they're both coming from and how they'd work that out. Melody worries about it for a bit, but not much attention is given to it. These two do have some pretty hot sexy times and a lot of page time is dedicated to it. This isn't necessarily a bad thing as the scenes are pretty well written. In fact, there isn't a whole lot of getting to know one another - feels like they have more sex than that...but clearly they were doing that off screen because it's revealed that they know some of the details of each other's lives. The world building here was pretty good as rules are established early on about how things go, but the whole "wolf-struck" thing was too much a mystery until right there at the end when the author is suddenly giving rules for it. I wanted the explanation much earlier. That was the only time though. I went into this expecting straight up smut, but was pleasantly surprised at how in depth the writing is and I really liked this author's writing style. I will definitely be looking at more from this author.

Well here it is night and I'm reading this book Oh My God why doesn't this really happen? I'll tell you Ms. Mina really makes you want to have bad boy with eye liner. Oh yes, this is definitely a MUST READ because everyone should always have this kind of fantasy.
Melody Jane Simmons aka: Mel is a
Nonhuman Cultural Archeologist who is 99% positive she dug up a werewolf settlement on the Claremont Estate. To add to the best part of the day her cousin has given her a birthday present, one night at a ritzy hotel to blank her brains out. Could she do this? Not knowing who this person is and just one night, maybe she could and so she did .
Aaron Rixx is a werewolf and his night life belongs to the stage. His rock band was famous but he was tired at first all the girls throwing themselves at him it was fantastic the whole bed full of women, it's just every man's dream. After a while climbing to the top you want a women for who you are, not because he's a famous Rock Star. Just one night making love with someone who doesn't know who he is. Do you think that's possible?

Well here it is night and I'm reading this book Oh My God why doesn't this really happen? I'll tell you Ms. Mina really makes you want to have bad boy with eye liner. Oh yes, this is definitely a MUST READ because everyone should always have this kind of fantasy.

Nonhuman Cultural Archeologist who is 99% positive she dug up a werewolf settlement on the Claremont Estate. To add to the best part of the day her cousin has given her a birthday present, one night at a ritzy hotel to blank her brains out. Could she do this? Not knowing who this person is and just one night, maybe she could and so she did .
Aaron Rixx is a werewolf and his night life belongs to the stage. His rock band was famous but he was tired at first all the girls throwing themselves at him it was fantastic the whole bed full of women, it's just every man's dream. After a while climbing to the top you want a women for who you are, not because he's a famous Rock Star. Just one night making love with someone who doesn't know who he is. Do you think that's possible?

Mel's life revolves around sh!t lol
Digging around an old site to find the remains of werewolves.
Her best friend and brother are set up with an exclusive agency for to find them a perfect one night stand.
This is Melodys story
She is whisked away to a hotel that is solely for her and Aaron's one night stand. But it turns out Aaron is a famous rock star but Melody doesn't know that as she's more a scholar than a brainless Bilbo.
Aaron realises melody is his true Mate as soon as he smells her arousal.
After an amazing night together Aaron gets called away to attend a family crisis but when he gets there he didn't need to leave his true Mate.
But after a few twists n turns he manages to get back to her and confess his true love for her.
If only life was that easy.!!!!!
Basic girl meets boy/wolf love story and they all live happily ever after
Glad I read another freebie book. Won't be rushing out to buy the next book in line tho

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I read this story a few years ago when she had it out as Melody's Wolf. I enjoyed it then and when she expanded it into Rocked by her Alpha I loved it even more!
Melody is an archaeologist and needs a break so her bff sets her up for a one night stand with an agency. She didnt want to do it initially but thought what the hell. She meets Aaron and wow the chemistry is hawt! Aaron is the lead singer of Lyric Hounds and they are very popular but he needs a break and is burned out so he too sets up a one night stand. Then he meets Melody and she happens to be his mate! Oopsy thats not what he intended but he is oh so glad! Question is how will she react when she finds out she's his mate? Who tried to kill her? Gotta find out and read it!
Totally recommend this book! Loved it and it was sweet and romantic and steamy!

Very Enjoyable Story OVER 18 Reading
A female archeologist who searches for signs of werewolves goes on a date where she has been set up by her cousin for a late birthday. A werewolf signs up for a date to see if he is only wanted by females because he is rich, a rock and roll star or will he still be wanted just as a man. What they could have found could be lost due to him having to leave before being able to find out how to reach her and an accident leaving her to think the worse of him when a set up bad photos hit the newsstand. He doesn't know that the best way to find her has been under his nose along, if they are willing to tell him. But can they get there in time?

Looking for one night of relief, he signs up with a local dating agency, never dreaming it might lead to his mate. Melody is an archaeologist who spends a lot of time by herself so she agrees to go on a blind date set up by a friend. Sparks fly as soon as Aaron and Melody meet. The paparazzi and stalkers send their blissful time crashing around them as Aaron has to convince Melody that she's his mate. A fast -paced, heated read with plenty of action and a HEA. My review is based upon an ARC from the author.

Melody and Aaron, an archeologist and a rock star, a human and a werewolf; these descriptors show how these two characters appear to be total opposites. But the author puts them together beautifully. I realized halfway through the book that I read this story before when it was published as Melody's Wolf. I really wish when authors republish books that they let readers know so we can decide whether to repurchase or not. As others have reviewed, I would have loved for this book to be longer, and I hope this couple is revisited as the other siblings and/or band acquaintances find their mates.

Melody needs to get laid..thank goodness her cousin knows this and sets her up on a blind date through an agency..Aaron is a hot Rock Star shifter..he’s tired of fan girls and wants someone he can just connect with, without the whole “Rock Star” thing..when he’s set up on a blind date, who knew that this would lead to a complete change in his life. Now, if he can get his fan stalker to leave him Ali e, maybe he can get the girl...for good.
Hot, sexy...animalistic sex..you can’t go wrong with Milly’s books. You’ll enjoy it.

That many stars because if you read it with half of your brain (the non-thinking half), it’s a full star read. There is a plot, a great H and h, a mate discovery and some feels. More TSTL moves on the H’s side thN expected - eg spoiler: he leaves his mate behind and cuts short his date because his sister is missing? He’s a rock star, has security and tons of folks at this command; but no he cuts short his weekend with his newly discovered mate and leaves accepting his mate doesn’t know her own phone number... Ms Carter, this was where my thinking brain left.
Disappointed as I know this author can do better, even if it’s 8 short chapters long.

They meet when Melody’s cousin and best friend sets Melody up at a exclusive resort to have a one night date. Aaron needs a break and wants to get some me time, so he books a date at this exclusive resort. The result for both is Melody gets to meet a werewolf/man and Aaron gets to meet someone who doesn’t know who he is, which is just what he wants. This is a good, fast read. I liked both characters and would read more books in the series and by this author.

Blind date set up by an exclusive dating agency Melody an archaeologist and Aaron lead singer to a very famous band Lyric Hound. Melody doesn't listen to that type of music so she had no idea who he was. Aaron finds that she is his mate. Fun story with a deranged fan thrown in. A reporter sets him up with and took pictures of Aaron in a towel and Lola the fan is scantily clad. Looked like they were doing something else. Melody saw the pictures and thought he was cheating already. LOla the fan goes after Melody. Aaron gets to her just in time. The story is not to long but I enjoyed it.

I got a little confused here, and I have to say there was not a lot of explaining about this on Amazon so I ended up buying both copies of this story. Which normal would piss me off royally, but in this one I felt both buys were justified.
The original title of this story is Melody's Wolf, but while the basic foundation of Rocked by her Alpha is the same as Melody's Wolf, Mina Carter has expanded that story, added a whole lot of new story, more backstory and more suspense. So Rocked by her Alpha is double the length of the original. And double the fun reading.

Worried about her overwork, cousin Tiff sets up a blind date through a special event company.
Werewolf rock star Aaron, lead in Lyric Hounds, is fed up of wolf struck or rabid fans breaking into his hotel to try and seduce him.
He succumbs to pressure agreeing to a blind date.
When he sees and scents Mel he knows instantly that she is his mate.
This is fun, sexy, a bit of mystery in there about Tempest but overall a good introduction to this series.

I voluntarily read this advanced readers copy of this story. I read this story previously a couple years ago now that it have been revamped it is just as good if not better. The expanded story gave me more story to read and love. The author sure has a way of pulling you in and not letting you go. I now want to reread the rest of the series but am not sure if I should wait for the rest of the series to be rereleased. This is a wonderful story and really enjoyed it.

Hot alpha werewolf shifter in a rock band! Melody is a non-human cultural archeologist, Aaron is the lead singer in a shifter rock band, both are setup on a one night stand. He realizes she is his mate, but on the way home she is in a car crash. Her brother is working as his personal protection specialist and helps them get back together. After dealing with a crazy concert goer, they declare their live, he noted her and they get their HEA.

This is a revision of another story that is more involved. I didn't want to put this book down once I started. The main characters are supported by wonderful backup characters. I can't wait to see where this is going and hope that there are more books in the series. This is a twist on normal shifter mates.

I love the idea of a werewolf rock band. Aaron was described as a rock star that made me picture Nikki Sixx the whole time, the young Nikki. The entire band sound awesome and I can't wait to see where everyone ends up. Aaron and Melody had a insta-love relationship, but it was actually quite satisfying.
