While this book may be a quick read, it's packed full of mushy goodness. If you're a fan of Fiona Davenport, you'll enjoy this one. Personally I did. :D

This was a really hot and sexy read. Chocked full of so many of my favorite things too! However a couple points dragged it down for me.

-hot alpha hero who is older than the heroine hero has been celibate since first meeting the heroine
-smart, educated heroine who is a virgin
-no cheating
-no ow/om drama whatsoever
-heroine pushed hero away even though she was in love with him

What brings this down for me was -

-not enough couple time -they are not officially a couple until the last few pages of the book

-no epilogue whatsoever - so they finally got together at the end of the book and we get nothing else. So disappointing!

Could have been 5 star but....

1 - Why is being a virgin such a bad thing? The heroine acts like she's got some type of disease simply because she's a virgin. A guy calls her a Unicorn and she freaks out like its a bad thing - maybe its just me but I would consider being called a Unicorn a good thing. A Unicorn is special. The fact that the heroine acted this way sorta made me hate her.

2 - NO EPILOGUE...the book just ends...

Alright, I'm gonna keep this short.

I guess this was okay at best. It was cute. It was hot. It was smutty. And I guess I liked the characters enough. But since it was only a novella, there was only so much that can be packed into those few pages. It was straight to the point and an alpha male that managed to not let everything go to his head...when it counted. Carter waited for Emma and for the right time to approach her...although in the end, she forced his hand on the "when" part.

Minimal to zero drama or angst and lots of loving--sometimes I like my books that way. Although I don't over-the-top love this read, I didn't exactly not like it either. I'm sort of in the middle with this one. Good thing this was a novella. Otherwise, it would've dragged on and would border on boring.

So I was in a pissy poor mood going into this book. So I thought i'd read a couple pages and see if it was good or finally delete it off my shelf. Read like 2-3 pages and my mood totally changed and I couldn't stop laughing at how ridiculous this hero was! Loved him!!

Despite this book being one of the fastest insta love romances I have ever read, I enjoyed this book. From start to end I was rooting for Carter to get his woman! I liked them as a couple even though we only get a slight insight to them being together as a couple.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and easy to devour in one sitting. I am looking forward to seeing what Jessa releases next.

For the past year Carter has wanted one woman; his brother’s secretary Emma! With his company policy stating the rules of not being about to date in the workplace and the fact that Emma is ten years younger than him, Carter has held off claiming her. But all bets are off when Carter hears Emma’s plan to lose her V card to a random stranger at a bar that night. Carter is ready to settle down, he so desperately wants a wife, kids, a dog and that perfect white picket fence setting. The only woman he wants as his wife is Emma. Now that he has heard her plans, he gets his plan moving and is determined to be Emma’s first and her last. But with Emma graduating soon will Carter be able to convince Emma of his love for her? Will Carter get his woman?

I found this short story on the Amazon top short stories. I'm a sucker for the Alpha Male instata love type books. It was super hot too. Recommended if you want a fast, hot read.

First book I read by Jessa James and I have to admit I was pleasantly surprise because I really enjoyed it.

Carter is a caveman, but also a gentleman. What guy on his right mind would hold off from getting close to the woman he wants? I know they are out there, those that can do it, but most men... I don't think so. I have to give it to him though, he didn't back down. He wanted Emma, for a long time, and he went for her when he felt he needed too.

Emma was a good female character. In everything else in her life, she has control over. She is not fearless, because fear and doubt is right there, but she makes decisions and stand by them. With the crush she had on her boss brother, Carter, I could totally understand her decisions.

I guess what I liked about the story is that the characters are flawed but not only that. I also liked that the steamy parts where really steamy, so much so that my body *blush* responded to reading this book and I was left with the task of taking the edge of afterwards.

Over all, I know the story was not exactly the most original because let's be honest: a virgin secretary and the boss? I've seen a lot of that particular idea in a heck of a lot of books lately.

What makes this book different for me, was the feeling I got from it. It felt honesty from the two characters and a sence of realism, like there is a real possibility this could happen, not that it will but it could... in my opinion.

Lip Service is short, sweet and hot with a whole lotta insta-love going on. Emma has worked for Ford's brother for almost a year now, working on her Graduate degree and she's been in love with Ford's brother, Carter, the entire time. But he's never noticed her. Not the girl 10 years younger than he, with her v-card still intact, the curvy girl who couldn't possibly hope to get him to notice her. Little does she know that Carter's not only noticed her, but has been in love with her since he met her.

When he overhears her conversation with his assistant about taking home a man to give him her v-card, he knows the time is right for him to make his move. And damn, does he make his move! His dirty, naughty sexy move! And he rocks both their worlds. But, when Emma runs out on him the next morning, thinking she's just a one night stand, Carter knows he has to go after the woman he loves and wants to be his forever, or he'll lose her for good.

I like Lip Service. It may be insta-love, but it's sweet and sexy and Carter and Emma are such a great couple. If you've got an hour or two and want to escape into something sweet and sexy, Lip Service fits the bill.

Secretly In Love With one Another!
Oh I do I love a good romantic story and we have one here written By Jessa James who is a new author to me but I will be looking for more of her books in future as this one is so well written.  We have a feisty and gorgeous heroine in the curvy shape of Emma who has been in love with carter, her boss's brother, for a year now but she doesn't think that he's even noticed her - never mind that she would have a chance with him. But Carter, alpha male, tale, handsome, and very charismatic has noticed her!!  In fact he can't get her out of his thoughts at all.  These two make such a wonderful couple and when carter finds out that she just going to give her v-card to some nameless drunk in the bar he just about loses it and goes and makes his play for her. But she thinks it's just a one night stand and leaves him.  Can carter persuade her to give him a real chance at a relationship and show her how much she really means to him??  To find out you're going to have to get a copy of this for yourself and I hope you enjoy it as  a much as I did. A great, short, sweet and sexy love story that I will happily read again as it's so good.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I am seriously loving Jessa James and her books. This one was a very good one and to be honest, I had my doubts. We have another heroine who wants to lose her virginity and a dominating man that will fight tooth and nail to have that place secured as his.

We see the inner conflict, Emma has with losing her virginity to not just a stranger but also to someone more familiar...like her boss, Carter. Someone she's nervous about because she's not sure if she can sex without emotions with Carter since she's already in love with him from the start! 

And what's great is that Carter really has no time for bullshit because he knows he wants Emma and wants Emma forever. He has a playboy reputation that makes Emma nervous but he proves himself through every touch that he has control over the whole situation.

A little angst happens towards the end that makes the story so much more. Emma runs, scared and not willing to hear Carter's thoughts but Carter is not going to let the woman he loves right out of his fingertips.

This book was a quick little read. It’s definitely has some spice. Although I do enjoy quick little reads, this one felt a little rushed. But overall was a good read.
Carter, has a reputation for being a playboy but all that changed when he saw her. He wanted nothing more than to make her his. He has a plan but after he over hears something that made jealousy run through his veins his plans changed very quickly. He was done waiting.
Emma, she’s a personal assistant for a big shot and his brother just so happens to make Emma melt. She has never wanted someone so bad before. But after a conversation with a coworker/friend she is ready to take a seriously plunge.
But as we all know, nothing ever goes as planned. What happens when they both lay it all out? It is worth it? Or will things crash and burn?

This is the first book that I have had the pleasure of reading by this author and I'm so glad I choose this book at first it was the cover that got me to click to see the blurb then when I read it I was instantly pressing to read and review.

So this book is quick to the point fun smexy romantic as well as beautifully smutty which is so up my alley :) It has the hot older man Carter who falls in love with younger woman Emma.

Once he over hears a conversation between her and a colleague he knows nothing will stop him from having the woman he wants.

Really enjoyed this one. Carter was basically a saint for stepping back and waiting for Emma even though he chanced her moving on because she thought he wasn't in to her. Loved that he overhead her talking and it was just the kick in the pants he needed. I did like that Emma tried to put some distance between them cause it made the chase that much more interesting!
