To settle her debt to Zeus’ son, Abby agrees to participate in the Olympian games of old and allow suitors the opportunity to win her hand in marriage. Specifically Typhon, because he’s adamant he will be the champion.
Except...Abby doesn’t want to get married anytime soon unless it’s to the man who has challenged her heart and soul every step of the way.
But Hades no longer seems terribly interested in participating in the games even though he has repeatedly told her not to worry about the outcome.
Easy for him to say. He’s not the wishbone in the paranormal turkey.
Enemies, old lovers, and friends will come together in the latest installment of Abby’s hijinks, but when the dust settles and the victor is declared, will she be the winner?
Or will her heart be bound to another?

S.E. Babin has a passion for writing books with a paranormal twist. Whether it's romance or mystery, she loves taking the norm and turning it into the extraordinary. Her love of reading turned into a curious exploration to see whether or not she could write her own novel.
Beginning with random, terrible poetry and a slightly popular reimagining of Beowulf's Grendel in her high school English class, Sheryl spent way too much time in the library, killing any chance of her becoming a cheerleader or anything even remotely cool. Abby looks for allies for the battle to win her hand in marriage. And Zeus changes the rules to favor his dirty schemes. Abby's choice of champion is very shocking. She almost forgot to ask Hera to be on her team. Unfortunately, Zeus somehow found out who Abby's champion was and cut a deal with him. At the competition he leaves Abby high & dry. He also took Artemis with him. Everyone thought all the gods/goddesses were dying because Zeus had changed the fights to be to the death. Abby arranged for her mother to make it look like certain people died. That way she didn't lose any loved ones. It turns out Zeus compelled some people. And they lost a lot of gods that day. Of course, even after Abby saves the day she second guesses every thing she did. And she is worried about what her friends will think of her. I can't believe she doubts that Hades still wants her. That is idiotic! How many times does he have to say & show that he loves her? The ending was beautiful!
I like this series--it's cute and a lot of fun--but the author needs a good editor. Mistakes like "butt naked" instead of "buck naked" and "had me bent over a barrel" instead of "had me over a barrel" are distracting. Another was the sentence "Based upon the way he looks at you I'd say you two have years of physical past times ahead of you." I read that sentence numerous times trying to wrap my head around past times in the future before realizing it was meant to be "pastimes". Readers deserve more effort from an author.
I can’t imagine this story being told in any other way. A main player is killed. There is a deadly, bloody challenge game where champions for each side fight to the death. A new king is crowned. A tyrant is eliminated. Aphrodite meets parents she did not know she had. An ultimate sacrifice is made by a loved one and one is mortally changed. Highly recommend this story and the series.
This story appears to be the conclusion of this series. I don't want to be a spoiler do I'll be brief and vague. Let's just say that if you've be read the previous books this on wraps up a few story lines. You learn about Aphrodite's parents and the big battle that has been building. I must say it is quiet the battle with many twists. I think you will enjoy it, I know I did.
Up to her high standards in the terrific series. Can Abby beat all the odds and get her heart's desire? Think Absolutely Fabulous mixed with Caligula and that is what you've got here. Terrific read, more please.
what a surprising outcome I seriously love this series and I couldn't put this book down! this book does not disappoint. Abby is finally faced with the games she agreed to. Typhon fights for her hand when she really and truly loves someone else. He knows it, she knows it, Zeus just doesn't care. The epilogue sounded like this was the last book in the series, but there are at least 3 more!! I'm already anxious for the next installment in Abby's story!
The games are finally here! Will Abby lose, and in so lose her freedom and be forced to marry another Olympian? Will she win her freedom and her ability to choose? Death and destruction, love, happiness and snark rain down upon all. I loved this book!
I seriously love this series and this book does not disappoint. Abby is finally faced with the games she agreed to. Typhon fights for her hand when she really and truly loves someone else. He knows it, she knows it, Zeus just doesn't care. As she tries to find her champion and figure out how to win not only threatens but her right to choose whom to marry, Murphy continues to make her his favorite victim. Full of laughs, tears and even cheers! Destiny may just beat karma at being a b!tch where poor Abby is concerned.
This last episode in the series is filled with surprise after surprise, and comes to a fairly satisfactory ending. I do suspect we might get an Artemis spin off at some time in the future, or that the series could pick up with a descendent of Aphrodite. I really enjoyed this series.
Let the games begin! The time has finally come for the games to begin and the winner will get to have Aphrodite's hand in marriage. Prophecies have been spoken of what is to come and Abby was optimistic that she would surely win but Zeus has never been one to play the rules and this time is no different. Many will die and is winning worth it when you have to lose those that you love?
I've loved this entire series and have laughed out loud on many occasions while reading them but none of them have made me cry until this one. I'm hoping that this isn't the end of the series.
This was everything we could have wanted! Abby and Hades are perfect for each other and their banter is enjoyable. The final battle is one for the ages and I couldn't put this down.
"Out of Sanity Aphrodite" is the seventh book in the "Goddess Chronicles Series" by S.E. Babin. The games are quickly approaching, and Aphrodite is about to run out of time. Sure, she procrastinates like a champ, but when she finds out how many Olympians are competing for her hand, it suddenly becomes very real. But just like everything in Abby's life, not everything is as it seems, and she needs to do some investigating to figure things out. Overall, I was surprised by many of the events in this novel. Especially what happens to Artie. I'm glad that the author has three more books planned. There is more to Aphrodite's story, and I can't wait to read it. I also can't wait to read the spin-off series the "Huntress Chronicles." Hopefully, we'll see things from Artie's point of view, and what her relationships are like.
