He never thought he deserved a second chance. Now, he'll do anything to be worthy of it.
Nia Feroulis came back to make things right, but she never expected to walk into so much wrong. The first moment she laid her eyes on the ex-SEAL shifter who came to disrupt her life, she knew things would never be the same again. Being prepared for everything that would follow would have been impossible. With a baby to protect and a secret that could help destroy the world, she has more to lose than ever.
Thor Dremmons can kill anyone he can see, and that's all he has seen in his life for years now. When a woman comes to his life who can take his sight away, he knows things will change. Just not how much. He's destroyed so much that building something up seems almost impossible to the wereleopard sniper. But with a mate and a baby no one could have expected as his to protect, he's finally ready to protect something again.
He just hopes it isn't too late.
This is a full 50 k novel with a guaranteed HEA. It has violence, steam, a forbidden pregnancy and lots of hot shifter SEALs that are sure to blow through all your defenses. Read it as a standalone and fall in love with the shifters that won't back down!
Thor has a good reason for being so unhappy since he lost his mate. It makes so much sense. Meeting Nia is a second chance at love and he doesn't want to make the same mistake falling in love so he leaves her knowing that her life is better without him. Stupid man, like that will happen. In this part of the series is connected to Shifter Grove a bit which is interesting and a new mystery is made about Spade. I'm now wondering id he will get a second chance story. I hope so, he is too much of a douche, but maybe its possible he has a mate that will change him. Anything is possible in this world.
I really enjoyed these crazy characters who had nothing to lose. It is savage, vicious, bloody and sexy and made me laugh at times at just how crazy each member of the team is.
The stories are short but good and they all flow on from one another.
You will definitely like this if you like a little crazy and unpredictable and sexy hot shifters.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
He is a werepanther sharp shooter/sniper that is on a mission. He begins to stretch while his muscles come back to life after scoping out the enemy territory all day. He needs to get back so that he can meet up with his squad and get out of there. He is all but at the helicopter when there is an explosion. The next thing Thor knows he is unable to see and being nursed to health by the most beautiful voice he has heard. But this shifter has had such a horrible event happen to him so many years ago that he refuses to allow any "good" thoughts in. Thor believes he is bad luck for anyone who tries to get close to him. Let's just say his panther and him are at war on this, because his panther purrs like a little kitten when around her.
She is a shifter and out in the jungle is where she has always felt at home. She is also on a mission, hers is one of medicine and learning. She is smart and quick. She has spotted him up in the branches and knows that he is not about to hurt her, but when she hears the explosion she is right there trying to help this handsome man before bad becomes worse. She has the natural medicine approach and she is cheerful and happy. Nia can't help the way she is feeling, she feels drawn to him, wants to ask questions (and does a little bit) but knows that the trauma this man just went through is nothing compared to another time in his life.
Thor had a mate and a baby on the way. She was his everything. He had to give up his family pack for Ashley (his mate) and he did so willingly, it was the best decision he ever made. She was almost at her due date when the worst thing ever happened. She was rushed to the hospital, and nothing could be done to save her or their son. Now Thor is numb and completely blames himself for not saving her. He vows to never let anyone or anything close to him again. That comes in handy with the Shifter Squad Nine group as well. That is until the accident. He is now waking up, ringing ears from the blast and he can't see. Now there is a beautiful voice talking soothingly to him, and he starts to feel something he thought he buried a long time ago. He puts on a grumpy front, but Nia breaks down his hard exterior shell without even trying.
She is applying the balm to his eyes and he of course is moaning and groaning, the big baby. She really hopes this works. She is sorry that this gorgeous man is having to go through this. She only wants to help. So they banter a lot, and she always tries to be happy and upbeat, while he goes out of his way to be grumpy and not the best patient. No matter, she persists. Now it is time to take that mask off. When she does and tell him he can open his eyes, it is the beginning of the fantastic and dynamic spark between them. He regains most of his sight back, and then some. He regains some feelings, and it scares him as well as angers him. Thor and Nia are together, and then Thor feels something starting to peek through. He likes her. He feels that will only cause her pain if not death, and he does everything in his power to stay away from her.
Now there is a secret revealed upon her rescue from the Arctics and it is one that Thor should be thrilled about. He fears the worst is yet to come. Nia decides to allow herself to be upset that Thor is acting this way, but after that jerk who heads the Squad injected her with so far an incurable disease she must focus on finding the cure. Broken hearted doesn't cover how she feels. Then things change. In a good way - that is the only spoiler I will give you. Man, then when the ending of this book happens, I kept hoping there was more. Just a roller coaster of ups and downs with these two and never is it a dull moment.
Nia, a bird shifter rescues Thor from being kidnapped & helps him heal his eyesight. As a thank you they have sex the entire night before she goes with him to rescue the rest of the Shifter Squad 9 from their mutual enemy, The Artics.
2 months after Nia & Thor had sex she is kidnapped by The Artics as they have poisoned the people of Singapore thru their water system with a virus. After Thor & his team rescue her from the bad guys, Spade the head man for The Firm & who is the person who not only gives them their assignments but also loves to let cats out of bags let's it be known & before Nia can tell Thor tells the squad that she's pregnant. & asks then tells Nia that she has 2 weeks to find a cure for the virus & when she tells Spade that it might take longer tan 2 weeks he injects her with the virus to get her to make sure that she finds the cure.
Now one of they many mysteries in this book is does she find the cure or does she die like Thor's 1st mate did? This book was again very good for the good vs bad plot; however this book also had a couple of sex scenes, what I felt as romance & some recurring characters from the previous books. The title however is misleading as there weren't any cubs for the chasing especially since Nia was only pregnant with one that may or may not have been a panther (like Thor) or a bird shifter (lie Nia).
I love this series by Anya Nowlan about a group of ex Navy Seals turned rag tag group of missionaries. This book cover Thor the snipper, panther shifter of the group who can kill anyone he sees, but whilst on a mission his squad gets captured and he loses his sight following an explosion of their rescue helicopter. Rescued by Dr Nia Feroulis who was raised in the jungle, she helps him regain his sight and rescue his team mates. The leader of the squad has pulled some pretty bad moves on this team, but this one must be the worse yet, but I'm not going to telling what he does, you're just going to have to read the book, as I hate when reviewers give away to much of the story and spoil it for other readers
This is the third book in the Shifter Squad Nine series and I was looking forward to Thor Dremmons story. Book 3 took a bit of a twist, in my opinion, and centered mostly on Thor’s “meet-not-so-cute” (!) with Nia Deroulis, rather than a lot more of the squad. Not a bad thing, just a clarification from my point of view. Once again, Ms. Nowlan made me want to smack Spade as he is up to his old tricks. Not so much of a spoiler but Spade doesn’t “get his” in this story. I can’t wait for that to happen! Chasing for Cubs shows Thor’s true self and Nia is just a sweetheart. I liked the story.
An ARC was given to me and I voluntarily agreed to review it. My opinions are my own. Thor was not very friendly to any of the squad members and now I understand why. But meeting Nia when he came back to conscience changed everything. This occurrence had him trying to keep away from her because he thought he was no good for her. Of course this is an action packed violent hot read. And of course Spade has a low down part in it. Can't wait for tables to turn on him. Enjoy I did.
Anya Nowlan keeps us on our toes and our brains in gear with each new book in the Shifter Squad Nine series !! Nia and Tjor's story is no different !! If you like paranormal romance stories with hot sex and edgy danger this book and the series are for you !! 4⭐'s . I can't wait for the next book !! I received a giftedcopy of this book and am voluntarily choosing to leave an honest and unbiased review.
I really liked this book, great addition to the series. It is well written. The storyline is engaging, it moves along at a good pace. The characters make this story stand out. We get Thor's back story, and meet Nia who is just what he needs for their HEA! Loved that it came in audio format!
I absolutely loved reading this book! It has everything a great book needs. Love, action, adventure and a bit of heartbreak. The only issue I have is with Spade. If I could reach inside the story I would strangle him!
I loved all the Shifter Squad Nine books! This group of misfits all fit together and both amused me and kept me reading through the night. Oh and there was sex, lots of sexy time along with action and fighting. Can't wait for more along this line from this author. I hope that the boss who we all didn't like gets his own book. Maybe his own group of mercs with problems??
Troubled Thor is certain his life is to be alone and he wallows in grief every chance he gets. Until the mission that finds him Nia, then he doesn't know which end is up. Danger is all the squad knows and this episode has that from start to finish.
Thor Dremmond, a panther shifter, ex-Navy SEAL snipper now a member of Shifter Squad Nine. He'd suffered a deep loss at the age of twenty-one, a loss that brought him to his knees. While on a mission something went wrong, Thor and his teammates found themselves injured. He got saved by a beautiful doctor named Nia .
Dr. Nia Feroulis, a researcher and scientist shifter who lived in the jungle was drawn to Thor when she first glimpsed him as he was making his way to get into position for his latest mission. She kept falling him up until the explosion that injured him and his team. She was only able to get Thor out of the enemy's path.
There was an instant attraction between Thor and Nia, the latter nursed the former back to health. Feeling much better, Thor and Nia went in search of the rest of Squad Nine. When they found the team, the foe didn't stand a chance but once again something went wrong and Thor blamed himself.
Months later after Thor and the Squad Nine got news that Nia was kidnapped and that she was the one who could saved the lives of the people of Singapore after the city came under attack by The Arctics. Thor and his team didn't loose time and got into action forming a plan to rescue Nia.
Nia voiced her concern to Spade that she didn't think she could find the cure in the time frame he'd expected. That answer didn't pleased the man who in return put Nia and her loved ones' lives in danger. Thor wasn't able some life changing news too well which Nia understood why but it still hurt to see him keeping his space.
Nia and Thor were able to work through all the hurt and self blame, the Shifter Squad Nine wanted nothing mire than to rid themselves of Spade's manipulations, but alas they were stick with the man. For how much longer!? Now that was the million dollars qestion.
CHASING FOR CUBS is the third installment in Anya Nowlan's SHIFTER SQUAD NINE series....the book was brilliant, fast-paced and intriguing. Anya Nowlan did a marvelous job!
Shifter Squad Nine are on an extended mission in the Borneo Rainforest and it is there that Thor and Nia cross paths. Nina had learnt as a child to always move around and to have safe places to call home. Seeing Thor in the jungle the previous day, Nia had tracked him until he had settled in the trees. When an explosion affects Thor’s vision, Nia drags him away to her makeshift hideaway. There is no love lost between Nia and her people, and the werewolves who scour the woods looking for them. Nia and Thor get to know each other and Thor feels a sense of calm when he talks about the loss of his mate and baby, something he has never told anyone before. Thor is convinced Nia needs someone better than him, but Nia’s animal reacts to his primal nature. Working together to rescue Shifter Squad Nine, Nia is injured and it is like Thor’s worst nightmare coming true once again. Nia is the bravest woman he has ever met, but another one he has let down, more so when Spade reveals a secret, leaving him in an endless turmoil; but how can he fight or control fate. Two-months later Spade has a new mission for the Squad. The Arctics have not only unleashed a deadly chemical agent, they have kidnapped Nia and she is the only one who can find an antidote. Spade, though, makes it clear that time is of the essence and then does the “unthinkable”. This was quite an intriguing story that had plenty of twists and turns to keep it interesting and it was an exciting read. It is certainly a book I would have no hesitation in recommending. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
I loved Thor's story! I finally understood him. His backstory broke my heart and it just made me want to root for him to obtain happiness at some level. He is now on a mission that is really not going as expected. It involves those nasty artics. When he heads out to meet his team members, an explosion occurs and he is hit with shrapnel and his world goes dark.
Nia is living in the jungle now. She has lived there almost her whole life, but she went to school in New York. She is a scientist and she has a lab in the jungle. The Creepers are causing problems, luckily she knows this jungle like the palm of her hand. She comes across the creepers bombing a chopper. She had been following a very large and handsome man. Now this man was injured and down. She pulls the man to safety. Now, things will change for her.
Of course Spade is up to something and Shifter Squad Nine is in the thick of it.
I enjoyed this, but I felt the ending could have been better. The cover and title of this book did not seem to match Thor... what cubs? I hope the next story is way better. I also look forward to Spade's story. I want him to have to really need Shifter Squad Nine's help. I want him to get his comeuppance for everything he has put both Squads through. I also think Shifter Squad Six should get their digs in too. Both squads should be involved and all of the squad members should get their dues. I am hoping for some laugh out loud moments. I want his mate to be a strong hellion. I want her to give him triplets that make him squirm.
Chasing For Cubs: BBW Shapeshifter Navy SEAL Second Chance Forbidden Pregnancy Romance Shifter Squad Nine Book 3 by Anya Nowlan ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What a amazing emotional rollercoaster ride with plenty of action, humor and romance packed into it. This is the third book in the series and one that I am excited to read, Thor is the one Squad member story I have been looking forward to read as he seemed be withdrawn and keeps his distance from the rest of the squad, Thor and Nia's story has push the limit and left me feeling conflicted, but I have yet to read anything of Anya Nowlan I didn't absolutely love! This is another great read to add to list. This is a very intriguing and interesting fantastic read, it kept me on the edge, it's filled with lots of suspense, also there twisted and turn that you won't see coming. It's definitely a great addition for this series. What I enjoyed most about this story is that Thor does need Nia and opposites attract, Nia is funny, outgoing and very capable, Thor is a man of few words and he needs some fun. Anya out did herself with this story (Yeah!). I love Shifter Squad Nine and I'm happy that the team is starting to work together instead of each member doing their own job and not relying on each other, this story shows more of the Squad's individual personalities and I love it. After I read each story it makes me so excited for the next story. I voluntarily reviewed this book, because I love sharing my thoughts with my fellow readers.
Thor shows a different side to himself in this book. Especially in the first chapter my heart broke for him. Such a strong and in a way broken man. He hasn't really recovered from his past but has helped make him insane enough for Shifter Sqaud Nine. He still keeps a little distance from people but that is all about to change, irritatingly slowly. He gets a second chance and doesn't quite believe it.
Nia is a shifter who lives with her people in the jungle. Such a hopeful and brave woman. Also a woman who saves Thor when he gets into trouble in the jungle. She can't help but tease and laugh and the grumpy male shifter she saves and connects with.
Things go bad for these two, a night of passion in the jungle and helping save the team, Nia gets hurt and Thor runs scared. Only to end up together again but Spade the jerk that he is threatens the happiness. Also Thor kind of does that too with his guilt and insecurities. I think so far these two are my favourite and Nia was so brave and patient with Thor and what she had to go through. And Thor? So much more to that man then he shows everyone but Nia saw that.
In the book before this review I mentioned about Spade and him getting worse. Yep he got a whole lot worse Ahhhh seriously hope by the end of this series he gets what he deserves. I also think that maybe there is more going in with him then anyone knows. Who is Spade and why does he do what he does?
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I always thought there was something about that Spade dude. Who's Nate? And what a hunk of a guy Thor is. He's hot as sin and a panther at that. Me being a Marine personally I have a thing for these military hot shifters tough guys who have a heart full of gold. But Thor I knew he had to have a back story for him to be the way he was during the series and now we get it. To loose your wife and child is hard and to feel it's your fault tear a person apart but for shifter to loose his mate wow. I'm surprise he didn't go crazy. Or maybe that's why he was the way he was. This was a great book. And Nia is an awesome woman who is timing up for him. But what Spade did to her was lowdown even for him. I cannot make out whether he is the hero or the villain in this series. We need to get his story. I cannot tell you much because I Wil be giving it away. In a nutshell the team are really becoming a family. Thor looking his eyesight temporarily, they race through Singapore and the jungles of Borneo. Thor get shot in the ribs, and oh yeah a cable car falls from the sky..you gotta get the book.
This book is about the very private Thor. The sharpshooter who can stay perfectly still waiting for the one perfect shot. We find him coming down from his tree a few miles from his pick up point. As he is getting closer there is a big explosion. He wakes to the sound of a women telling him that they must move, now. There is one problem, though. Thor is blind. She takes him to her secret area behind the waterfall. She mixes up a few different creams, trying to get his eye sight back. Thor leaves after he gets her to safety. I volunteered to review this ARC book using my own opinion. Slide has them clearing out the jungle of the Artics. Then he gets n touch with the team. Nina has been kidnapped and the water in Singapore has been poisoned and she is one of the only one who can find a cure. This starts a chain reaction of action, one-on-one and one on many. The team get badly injured, but continue on as always. Only Squad Nine can due what is required from here out. Why do I say that? No, it can not be that bad, no way? It is not that bad, No. It is that Good!!!!!
I received a free ARC and voluntarily chose to review. Well Anya did it again! Another great squad book. I was really surprised that Thor would be the next to be written as I thought of him as the most damaged of squad 9 and thought he might be left till later in the series to keep us guessing. He has certainly seen his share of tragedy. This one like the other squad books is epically filled with action and adventure that keeps you riveted. Those pesky Arctics get everywhere! I literally read it in one sitting as I just had to know what happened. It's slightly different in that once the initial mayhem settles the book takes you away from the squad and concentrates solely on what is happening with Thor. You just don't know how he's going to get out of the mess he's found himself in. Great team follow through for the epic final action and you get all the boys in action. Great read! Oh and there's the steamy bits too.
4.5 stars. Another of Shifter Squad Nine falls despite Thor's best efforts to screw it up. Loved Thor's story, his past heartbreak was terrible and I can understand how he went down the path he did. Nia was a breath of fresh air and I loved her to bits. Her shifter side was superb, how clever, I am not saying or it will give it away. Thor on a mission is something else, talk about not giving up. WOW. I have been on that cable car and can envision it clearly. It was good to have the team back in action and although this book was not as tension laden as the previous, it was a great read and is starting to show a camaraderie building amongst this motley crew of shifters, much to their disgust I imagine. What Spade did was diabolical and the worst thing ever. Spade is worse than the devil and I am hoping someone takes him out rather than him getting a mate but I do wonder what ghost memory the name Nat conjured. Could it be short for Natalie? This is my honest review of this book
In Chasing for Cubs, we have Nia and Thor - an interesting match. I found Nia to be intriguing...especially when we were uncertain what kind of shifter she was. A little mystery is good. Thor felt undeserving of love because of what had happened to his first wife, Ashley, and their unborn cub. I got that, loud and clear...like a million times over. I just wanted him to stop brooding and get over it and embrace what was in front of him. Nia was patient with Thor (while I wanted her to slap him). The research Nia was involved in was something the Arctics wanted more of. Spade is involved in nasty, evil ways as usual. I think the whole team wanted to kill him this time. I loved the action in Singapore. I also quite enjoyed imagining the jungles in Borneo at the beginning. I can't imagine a panther shifter being 'loud' on his feet, so that made me laugh. I sighed over the bead of the hornbill. Price and Prowler are up next and I can't wait!
A shifter squad nine story Thor was 21 and was mated happy and expecting this first son. How his world came crashing down around him as his wife and his son both die. It's what shut Thor down forever changing him. He closed his off. 8 years later shifter squad nine is on a mission in Boraeo that goes sideways. After an explosion he is saved by Nia. She is born and raised in Boraeo and she's a healer/chemist/biologist oh yea and a shifter. Lots of danger and drama in this one along with some really awesome characters. If you have read any of the storys you dislike Spade (their boss) he is a jerk! Well this time your going to want to shoot him!. He's an awesome BAD/good guy. I love to hate him lol this storyline is awesome. I am so hooked on this series. Shifter fans will love it. I couldn't put it down. Voluntary reviewed and I honestly loved it.
This book was emotional from the very beginning. It started with a very sad scene from the past and then jumps into a mission in the present. Thor is a shifter used to relying on himself but needs help when a mission goes wrong. Nia is a shifter too and saves him. It brings her into his world which is very dangerous.
The characters connect very quickly and I really enjoyed their interactions. They are both strong people and neither gives up. The group Thor works for is just as dangerous as the ones they fight in many ways. I like how the team is really starting to form real bonds among the members. They have witnessed the pain of the others and have learned to appreciate the help they can offer one another. I recommend you read the entire series.
Thor Dremmons can kill anything he can see and he has seen a whole lot of killing and destruction but the first time he sees and meets his mate she takes his sight away just on her and her along he will keep her and take care of her no matter what There is Nia Feroulis she came back to set things straight and when she gets there everything goes wrong and she meets Thor a were Leopard and she helps him get his sight back a long with a magic night of loving and then he disappears will she see him again she has a secret a babies and she will kill to keep them safe. loved this one Thor we get to see about his past and she why he is the way he is grumpy lol. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Michelle
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Oh boy, this series is just high powered drama, action and where are the tissues moments. Thor Dremmons , Sniper, is a man who doesn't say much. Once I read why he has demons, omg, I couldn't see for tears. On a mission in the jungle he becomes injured and it helped by Researcher and Scientist Nia Feroulis. Loved the chemistry between them and being attracted to just a voice. It made it more special . Then when you think things will quieten down... bam that's when thing start to get hot in more ways than you think. Lots of action, a surprise pregnancy, kidnapping, life changing moments and a ride on a cable car!!!! So much going on it is brilliant.
Thor Dremmons prides himself on being a great sniper and committed to his duty. He had his chance at happiness and knows he will never see that again. The first moment Nia Feroulis laid eyes on the ex-SEAL shifter who came to disrupt her life, she knew things would never be the same again. Being prepared for everything that would follow would have been impossible. With a baby to protect and a secret that could help destroy the world, she has more to lose than ever. Thor does not know why he is deeply attracted to Nia and never expects to see her a second time, no matter how much he wants to. He believes his presence would cause too many problems. Nia understands his hesitations but hopes he could move beyond his past. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
