I could not stop reading this story that is full of twists and turns that keep you on the edge. It is a romance story but not a typical one at all. I highly recommend this series and sorry don't want to reveal all and spoil this truly well written series.
As time goes on and we experience a variety of trials life puts in our path, we learn who we are at our very core. In a daily basis we have outside forces trying to beat us down into submission but it is the decisions we make the define us. Eleira did not ask for the life that has been forced on her but decided that this is what she was meant to do. While still so young in the grand scheme of things, she has chosen to take her new role seriously and not let anyone influence her choices. I like that about her. Her fierce fighting spirit is to be commended and for can't wait to see what she does next. This book forced me to see Raul in a new light. He has taken on the new role of protective lover which is a slightly less appealing version of our most popular Soren brother. I understand that his heart is in the right place but he needs to let his girl grow and support her in any decisions she makes (within reason of course). I know Raul with get to where he needs to be and when he does, Eleira and Raul will become the supreme power couple. James gives little hints that he is finding his way back to the bad boy we were introduced to when this story started. Morgan has crossed into a whole new level of crazy which I fear will be her undoing. I can't help but feel like all hell is about to break loose and for one cannot wait!
Sigh.... there's at least another book. More of Eleira saying asinine things like "That's not possible" about some witchy/vampire thing when she has only found out and became a witch/vampire a few months before. She somehow knows all??? I think not. Also she throws fits, yelling at others to stop treating her as a child when she is.... wait for it..... 17. She is a child and her tantrums prove that she hasn't grown up to any great extent.
The changes in POV is a bit hard to follow. I am sure it would be easier if I was reading the book, but it's just the nature of audiobooks.
Also this trope is so overdone. Innocent girl with this power that she didn't know she had is destined to change this world battles evil with the help of love. Talking about love... it isn't happening between Raul and her.
Five books so far telling a story that could have been done in one and it isn't over yet.
Just when you think the author can't blindside you more then she already had, she turns ur head upside down with the next book and leave you panting for more! This series has been amazing since the very first book, where we see this young inexperienced girl go from a weak willed character to a confident force of nature. But Just when you think Eleira is going to come out on top, one again E.M. Knight pulls the rug out from under her feet in the worst way! And the cliffhanger? Don't get me started on that! I'll be going crazy waiting for the next book to find out what is going to happen! Didnt think I'd be saying this but damn, I hope Cierra takes Morgan out! :-)
James’s ego knows no bounds. He thinks he is invincible. Morgan has returned different. She is now involved with blood magic. She has done something to Phillip and turned him dark. Ciera is on the loose. Eleira and Raul are in danger from everywhere and everyone scared of the Queen. Will the evil take over or can Eleira and her goodness win out. This book and series is getting very dark and is something I never thought I would read but I am thoroughly involved.
Or who is going to do it. This story is captivating and ever changing. It grows with each edition, but still leaves you wondering "how". It's an entertaining read without being racy, and leaves you spellbound with the magic and intrigue that is woven throughout its pages. Can't wait to see what the next one reveals.
Story is well written. Drew me in. Contains some Romance, some violence and no course language. The narrator is the same in each of the series so far. She does a good job, giving each character their own unique voice. I really enjoying this series. Leaving me wondering what’s is happening. It have twisted and turns. It ends on a cliff hanger.
Omg, just when u start to understand the plot, bam something new is added, people keep changing sides, and what you thought was taboo is going on behind closed doors!!!!! Come on Knight release book 6 already I want to know what happens next dammit!!! Awesome series, awesome writer, I look forward to future books and not just this series from this author!!
Another excellent book that tells of other worlds and the young that are helping to figure out what happened to citizens from their city over a two year period and if they are dead or not.
I adore all vampire novels. I can follow each of these characters through their own personal journey and relate to aspects of their lives. I would definitely recommend this series to everyone
I knew it was going to be like shadow of a vampire, on and on and on. The twist and turns are unbelievable. Just give us an ending and have done with it. Stop trying to make more money, its boring.
So all of the books start and end great. but the middle is so slow moving and this book is no exception to that. Also Morgan wanted to be with her son in an intimate way is just gross.
Such a good series! You can’t help but like or hate the characters . The authors imagination is amazing creating this different vampire world. Each books gets you more linked in to their world. So many secrets!
So Morgan is awake and she's STILL awful. Not only is she bat-shit crazy. But she's conniving, she's a liar, she's selfish . . . Ugh! She's the worst! She needed to stay in that sleeping stupor *rolls eyes*
I enjoyed reading about the characters childhoods, which explains a lot, especially with the Queen, but add in her sister, Ciera, now that was a shocker especially what she ended up turning into. I enjoyed the twists and turns and wish the book didn't end... can't wait until the new book .. can't believe I have to wait to read it hope it's not to long!!!! Love this series so far....
