What goes through the mind and heart of a woman who is trafficked? How is she coerced into it? Doesn’t she want to leave? Why does she stay? In this insightful book, Jasmine shares years’ worth of painful, unfiltered diary entries recounting a dark time in her life and her long journey to freedom and healing.

“To all the women and girls out there: The sex industry is not a means of women’s empowerment. It is oppression.”

What are our beliefs and attitudes about prostitution? Jasmine makes it clear that if we’ve never been trafficked, we have no idea. We have no idea what these women are dealing with and the pressures they face. She challenges us to see them with grace and compassion. They need help, not condemnation.

“Realize that when a woman in your community suffers, others suffer. I believe we all have a place in the healing journey for her.”

What can we do? How can we help? Involvement starts with understanding, and this book shines a much-needed light on the trauma that surrounds us. We all need to care and work together to change this world.

“I am so grateful for my new identity today. I have been truly washed clean. I know that I am a beloved daughter of the Most High King. I am a Princess Warrior fighting the battle for the many women and girls who are out there right now—trapped, lonely and afraid.”

Every survivor matters. Jesus loves her. She is worth it.

What an important book! The raw diary entries show the reality of how an intelligent young lady from a loving home can be manipulated into trafficking, how saying stuck happens, and the beauty of recovery. Every parent needs to read this, and every teen would benefit from at least reading and discussing several pages. We had some very deep conversations in our house thanks to Jasmine's vulnerability. Trafficking isn't something that anyone really wants to think about, but knowing the mindset and the warning signs is an important way to create a safe community.

The basis of this book is so important for all of us to learn about, sex trafficking. The author is the bravest human to share her story and recovery. I would have given a higher rating but there was so much biblical talk that I was thrown off. I understand why she spoke about her Savior, but I could have used less reading about it.

For those of us who are involved in the world of anti-trafficking, we have been given a gift. Jasmine's courage to share not only the pages of her diary during the time she was trafficked, but her heart-felt reflections after she has done the work of restoration give those of us who are in the trenches now hope.

Her diary when she was trafficked is a live-look into the mind, emotions and physical trauma that she was enduring. What has been theorized about, spoken about after-the-fact, and seen as a result from being trafficked is now here for us in her own words. The hope comes from reading again the words of this woman who was trapped who is now free in the diary she gives us in present day.

For anyone that is in the work of anti-trafficking, for any student who is trying to understand the trauma that is endured, for anyone that simply wants to know why it takes SO much for a woman to break the cycle of exploitation - this book is priceless. I cannot recommend this book enough.

The contrast between the original journal entries and the more recent contemplative observations and analysis signify the extraordinary personal growth during the author's "journey."

The tremendous amount of self-reflection, self-awareness, and self-empowerment described through this inspirational story is certain to provide enduring hope, courage, and faith to many individuals struggling with relatable issues.

The editor's notes highlighting the neuroplasticity of the human brain was especially appreciated.
