Oblivion

So this book held me captive from start ( pun intended). I've read other books by Lulu Astor and liked them a lot. But Oblivion blew my mind. The plot is clever and made this a page turner, but it's Astor's character development and the witty dialogue that makes this story come alive. At the center of the story is Aja who I immediately loved. There's a very distinct tone in her voice, and being in her head was nothing short of amusing. She's witty, snarky and makes fascinating observations.
The story starts out innocently enough. Aja is at one place in her life when a major life event takes place and her life is turned upside down. We are propelled forward two years where everything about Aja changed. She hasn't lost any of the initial snark, but there is a heavy cloud of grief hanging over her head. She's moved to London and is contemplating a move back to the US but then she gets unknowingly caught up in the "Oblivion" dimension. While Aja may be at the center of this, and much of the story is from her POV, there are a lot of characters who drive the plot line making this a fantastic thriller.
Lets start with the "o master" (I giggle at this double entendre). I'm not going to give his real name because that's a good part of the thriller - romance element, but I'll say I love how he "gets" Aja and that their interactions make for the steamy portion of the story. There's also Aja's mother, friend Rainy, and the fateful meeting with Kerry. All play important roles in Aja's life and the story line. The other key players are the members of the "Oblivion" faction. It takes a while for this to unfold and Astor does it such a great way I actually felt like the pieces clicking in my head. Each chapter is told from a specific characters point of view and new ones pop up out of no where - sometimes it's not immediately clear why we're getting a part of the story when we do, but Astor makes it all comes together on one fantastic read. I had some ah-ha moments which are always gratifying if done well.
Oblivion wasn't on my radar but I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy and so it ended up being an immediate read. The story doesn't end there though (YAY US!) and I'm really looking to Comeuppance! I really enjoyed this as a reading experience and I love a story that can keep me second guessing who was who and what was what. I'm delighted to recommend this as a 5++ Star book.

This is the first book I read from Ms. Astor and I have to say that I am NOT disappointed in the least.
This book had me captivated from beginning to end, I highly recommend this book!
The whole mysteriousness that this book had completely had my sole attention and I was unable to find myself putting the device down. I just had to keep going because I needed to unravel all that was happening and why it was happening.
Aja is happily married until she's not anymore.
Nicholas Cain is a very powerful, rich man who happens to have been friends with Aja's husband and for some reason he found himself wanting this woman and he would find a way in getting her. But his first priority with Aja is to keep her safe and protected from the evils wondering the streets that want to cause her harm.
Aja has no idea what is going on, she's completely oblivious but finds herself in a bind and has to find a way to get out of it so she signs up with a private company to be a slave and although she's not happy about it, she finds herself that she is unable to find another solution to her dilemma.
When she finally meets the man she is to be a salve to, she is enraged because she never expected this stunning, beautiful man to have gone out of his way to pay her debt and make her his slave. But as time passes she finds that her hatred for this man is starting to turn into something else (oh-oh)!
This book was just fascinating to me and I absolutely loved the storyline. It's one of those books that will keep you thinking for days and wondering the what if's. It's sad that Aja had to go through what she did and the heartache she endured because of evil people out in the world.
I'm very much looking forward to the next installment!

Lulu Astor is a brand new author to me and I’m so pleased I read this book from her as I’m now a massive fan of her work. Wow this book blew me away. I loved everything about it from start to finish.
This book was different from the books I’ve read recently which was very refreshing for me as a reader and reviewer. This book in my opinion is a dark romance which is my absolute fav genre and this was one of my favs. The characters god the characters in this series are simply amazing. I cant wait for the next book as that ending has me on the edge of my seat.
I don’t want to say too much about the storyline of this book as I don’t want to spoil it as in my opinion you have to go in blind as this book will just blow you away.

Aja Lawson lost her spark when tragedy strikes, leaving her with an indifferent attitude. While she somehow moves forward, she doesn't realize that three men have her on their radar. One wants to destroy her, while the other two want to basically own her. O.M.G! While I already believed that this story would be interesting from reading the blurb, I NEVER SAW THIS COMING! That's why I have given a generic over view of what went on, as I refuse to give anything away, because my wish is for everyone to experience the same journey that I just got off of. For one thing, and it's probably one of the biggest, the plot is cleverly original, making the f-bomb worthy moments loud and proud, while twists and turns kept my heart racing. Witty banter kept me fully captivated, and even had me laughing more than once. Not to mention, the FIERY FLAMES of sexy scene goodness is so potent, that commando is definitely best, as it will disintegrate all panties in it's path. This is the first time that I read this author, and it won't be the last! I cannot wait to see what she comes out with next, which leads me to HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDING the sexy, and thrilling Oblivion!

This is the first book i've read from this author and oh my i can't wait for the next one to come out. This author takes you through a rollercoaster ride of emotions. You feel the heartbreak that Aja feels when tragedy strikes. Your heart bleeds for her and you wonder if she will ever be ok again after such a loss. You will also feel the strength that she shows as she starts to move on in life only to find out that just when she thinks all will be ok she gets on that ride again. You will get many surprises as you go through the twists and turns of this story beware you will find yourself so caught up in it you won't be able to put it down until you reach the cliff hanger end when you go no that can't be it wait what happens next. This is one book that i will be recommending to my friends for this book really gives you the escape that we all want from a book and only get from a really great author.

This is my 1st read by this author! All I can say is it's absolutely one of the best I have read in awhile! I was becoming bored with books lately then this gem fell into my lap! It's unique and fresh! Dark and sexy with mysterious all wrapped into one!
Aja is a strong beautiful woman. She has had a traumatic event in her life that was game changing! Yet, she perseveres and continues to keep going! I can't tell you everything you just have to read this!
Nicholas Cain is just f**king hot and badass with being rich all wrapped in a pretty red bow!!

This was such a fascinating story! This novel has all the elements of a great story: money, power, control and sex. Ingenious concept for the story. The author is such a clever writer. Her books get better every time. The ending is genius!!

Found this book thanks to fellow readers, and I was glad I did. I got sucked into the story...and then was left hanging off a ledge with the ending. I don't like to go into the storyline on a review, because I think you need to read the goodies for yourself

This is the books book I have read in a long time
The twist and turns were mine blowing the characters especially Nick I hated him at first the jury's still out on Peter and Aja is so strong through it all and the sex scenes were so hot 🔥 I just love this book I can't wait to read the next book in this series on my goodness you have to read this if you like steamy hot action and all the twist to go with it Wow!

Seriously, this goes beyond 5 stars!! Lulu Astor's Oblivion is part of a two book duet. In this book, we meet Aja Lawson and tragic events that have taken place in her life to bring her to her current state. The first half of this book has you guessing who is who and then once you find out, you will be floored. The writing is wonderful in this story, but it does end on a cliffhanger - OMG! The author has written an elaborate story that is an absolute must read.

If you want a bit more intrigue with your erotic romance and a totally unique,thrilling storyline along with the sexy,then this one is for you. It does end on a somewhat predictable cliff,but one I was fully willing to go over. Moving on to Comeuppance,book 2!
