I won't stop until I have my title back and Hannah Collin's is mine.
Owning Chicago's best MMA gym, the Warrior Zone, doesn't compare to the high I got from being inside the octagon—the lights, the screaming fans, the women. I used to be the top MMA fighter until a near fatal injury forced me to retire and stripped me of that title. I was convinced life would never taste as sweet as it once had.
Until her…
When feisty and irresistible Hannah Collins, owner of Sweet Treats Bakery, unexpectedly walks into my life, she turns into a distraction I don't need.
But something about her forces me to take notice, and I couldn't shake her mesmerizing green eyes and tempting curves from my mind.
I'm determined to regain my title as the best cage fighter in the world, and will also convince Hannah that she belongs to me... no matter what it takes.
Redemption is a steamy MMA fighter contemporary romance novel. It's only recommended for audiences 18+. Standalone. No cheating. No cliffhangers. HEA.

Anthony was once the light weight MMA cage fighter champion but a knee injury had sidelined him some time back. He is longer feeling satisfied sparring with younger newer fighters showing them how to fight in the gym he co-owns with his friends. He wants more, he wants to fight again & to be on top. Hannah is the owner of Sweet Treats bakery which is located just next to the gym. Hannah has sworn off men after catching her ex with her best friend in bed. She puts all her energy & effort into making the bakery a success. When one of the other gym owners has Hannah make a birthday cake for Anthony's birthday she goes all out to thank the guys at the gym for their support. What she doesn't know is that this is the first birthday cake Anthony has ever had & it is a perfect expression of him. He asks Hannah out on a date & even though she is reluctant she excepts. They both find that they enjoy each other company & have a good time together. As they see more of each an ex from Anthony's past visits when she hears that he will be fighting again. When Hannah sees Anthony as his ex makes a pass at him, she decides she is done because she will not be cheated on again. When Hannah breaks things off with Anthony he spirals out of control into old behavior. Will Anthony be able to get himself back together? Will Anthony still be able to have his fight? Will Anthony & Hannah ever get the chance to tell each other how they feel towards one another?
This was a sweet short story about two people who had life deal them a rotten hand & how they found acceptance with each other to move past their awful experiences. It isn't easy to vulnerable when you've been hurt but when the right person comes along it all seems to fall into place. This was an enjoyable read & the first in a series about the MMA gym owned by the friends. I look forward to reading about the other fighters & their love lives.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.
These two are so cute. I love fighters who are just big teddy bears for their women. Also, I love flawed, real characters. This book satisfied a sweet tooth and a craving for something a little different than what I've been reading lately. I hope it's just the beginning of more books to come about the fighters falling in love! I received an arc of this book.
I'm a huge fan of MMA fighter books and this one did not disappoint.
Anthony co-owns the best MMA gym in Chicago he suffered an injury that forced him to retire and he hadn't fought since but decides he's ready to fight again. Hannah owns Sweet Treats bakery which is next to the gym and when another co-owner of the gym has Hannah bake a birthday cake for Anthony she's grateful for the business when she goes into the gym to say thanks she meets Anthony and he asks her out she accepts even though she's wary due to her past relationship they both really hit it off and enjoy each others company it's clear they have a connection and they start seeing more of each other but when an ex of Anthony appears and Hannah witnesses them together she decides she can't put herself at risk of heartache again and walks away which sends Anthony spiralling out of control. Will Anthony regain control and can Hannah and him find their way back to each other? You'll just have to read this book and find out I promise you won't regret it.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book.
Sports romance is one of my favourite genres and I do love me a hot fighter, so I knew I had to read this book. I mean, look at that cover.
Sadly, it turned out not to be my cup of tea after all.
+1 star only because of Tony. Maybe he was a little over the top, but he found something good in his life and wasn't afraid to go after it. What I had a problem with was the connection between him and Hannah. I have nothing against insta-love, but it needs to be believable to me and it wasn't. Hannah basically swore off men, but she still couldn't say no to Tony at all, after a quick exchange they are falling for each other, after two dates they are in love and in a few a weeks they are engaged. Yeah, no.
Seems like I could love Tia Lewis' books, if only her characters were more relatable to me, because they storylines have some serious potential.
Tony and Hannah work next to each other, they both have their demons to fight and neither wants a relationship, but things happen and they feel attracted to each other. They were actually pretty sweet together, and I liked the story. It had just the right amount of drama. I liked them, and their fears and struggles felt somehow real. They both had been burned by past relationships, and both had their fears, but when it really counted, they were there for each other. It was the first book by that author and I liked her style, I can't wait to read the rest.
Though there is attraction between Anthony and Hannah both are reluctant to act on it since both their exes failed them. Anthony’s ex-girlfriend bailed on him when his career was cut short from an injury and Hannah’s ex-boyfriend cheated on her with her BFF and business partner. Hannah is rescued by Anthony when her ex comes to harass her at the bakery, then sparks fly and they are soon an item. But when Gina learns Anthony is on the comeback trail to begin competing in the cage, she attempts to get between him and Hannah. A misunderstanding starts when Hannah sees them together at a bar, and it brings back some raw feelings. Anthony and Hannah have a long way with trusting each other.
Redemption is an okay start to a series. It has an okay plot, but I did not feel it had enough to grab my attention until the ending. I didn’t feel passion or intensity between these two, and the dialogue sort of felt flat, no distinction between the two. Having said that, though this book didn’t do it for me, I look forward to the next book.
Loved this book, I'm a big fan of MMA fighters and this one did not disappoint, well done Tia Lewis and thank you for letting me read an early copy. There was so much going on in this book that I didn't want to put it down, there were the crazy exs, there was fighting, there was pasts that both characters wanted to forget. Anthony was such a good character he was the possessive alpha, he went after want he wanted and he stuffed up and was perfect I wouldn't mind one of him. I loved his determination when it came to fighting in the cage. Hannah was great just as sweet and surgery as her bakery and was such a lovable character. The characters chemistry and sexual tension was burning up the pages and I read this in one sitting did not want to put it down. I loved how they were instantly attracted to each other. I really loved this book and if you’re looking for a full on novel with action and a little suspense then this book is for you and you need to grab it now.
Anthony is a retired MM fighter with a bad knee. He and some friends opened a gym to train fighters but he also wants back in the cage. He was burned by his ex leaving him hi and dry when things went bad so he doesn't trust women. Hannah is the baker next door to his gym. She is a sweet girl with a betrayal on her past and a pesty ex fiance that won't let go. The neighbors meet and they are attracted to each other. Insecurities and their past get in the way of their relationship. The writing is fluid and engaging and made me laugh, cry and fall in love with Tony. Their courtship hot and build under a lot of tension. Loved the friendship between Benji, Trev and Tony and Larry's father figure. Good book for the soul....
I could not put this book down! It is well written and the characters are just great! These characters have really complicated past and if they can get over the past hurts maybe they can move on to something amazing! I just loved the baker and how she took him to a baking competition, that was so sweet and that he went without putting up a fuss, that made it even better! This is just a great book and I can't wait to read more from this author!!
Our Hero is fighting to get back to the top and our heroine is focused on her bakery . They both are both recovering from a rough year, with life changing hurt and heart ache. The stories starts a little slow but, I am so very happy to have continued reading. The story became a romance that is truly worth reading. It has love, romance, action and HEA ending. Going on to the next book right now. A plus, plus is that it's available through Amazon KU.
Getting to know Hannah and Tony was very interesting. I must say that finding out Hannah was a woman with some curves, was just a added bonus for me to find out. Their story had a lot of baggage brought to the table, but it was great to see how things played out. I was very happy with the entire story.
This was a good book….not great, but good. Anthony was recovering from an injury and trying to make a comeback. Hannah was trying to make it as a baker and had an ex who stalked her. It was predictable and there were some hot scenes. A few grammar issues, which for a teacher will totally take me out of the book. That’s why I gave it 4 stars.
Anthony and Hannah make a great couple. They were both screwed over by their exs. Anthony is a injured mma fighter that will stop at nothing to get back in the cage. Then Hannah comes into his life and his life changes for the better. A brilliantly written story with excellent characters and a happy ending guaranteed.
This is a great love story about two people who don't think they are good enough for each other. It was great to watch them finally give in to who they feel. Can't wait to read more about these characters
I couldn't put this book down. I was so drawn into Anthony and Hannah's story. They're both overcoming things from their pasts. Sexy, steamy read that I couldn't get enough of. Can't wait for the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I really enjoyed Tony and Hannah's story. It was the right amount of MMA and baking. The love builds and there are bumps in the relationship which made it more relatable and honest. Not too hot but enough heat that goes with their story.
A hot MMA fighter wants to make a comeback. The sweet, sexy owner of the bakery next door to the gym becomes the object of his affection. Will he win his fight and the love of the lady or will Insecurities can keep them apart?
Good story. Nothing too exciting but a good way to kill a couple hours. I liked the characters and the story well enough. I just didn't feel the passion and connection.
I just ... could't go past the writing. I guess it's nothing wrong with it, it was just bland (for me) and I decided I won't waste my time. And I really didn't like H voice.
Loved every minute of this book. Glad all worked out for everyone. Can not wait to read the next book in the series. Keep writing and I will keep reading. Thank you.
