I loved the first book in the series and was excited to read this one.
At first I struggled a bit to really get into the story but then it was really good. I liked the fact that MK was more present, I really enjoyed to get to know her more.
About Nate and Trish, they're basics characters and sometimes I wish they would be a bit more developed.
The story was good but really predictable. And all was a bit too easy for me. When there was a problem, it was solved too easily.

To resume I liked that book but sometimes it was a bit too simple. I can't wait to read the next book in the series now!

Wow I must say I really enjoyed reading Nate's story. It was very deep and touching. I LOVED Trish!! She was a spectacular heroine. This story delves deep into why Nate is so quiet and withdrawn. You discover where his scars came from. It is very emotional to read what happened in the past to cause him to become such an introvert and keep to himself and his close circle of friends.

Now in walks Trish. Oh I loved this girl so much. When she meets Nate at the gym she signs up to she is determined to get him to talk to her. The girl is a spit fire. Even after she realizes that her & Nate come from two very different social circles & upbringing she doesn't let that deter her in the least.

I fell in love with their story. It is just so beautiful. We also learn so much more about MK that will make you wish you knew her. She's pretty freaking awesome & the author weaves such a perfect story for all the characters surrounding Nate & Trish's story that it melds just perfectly.

Please oh please let Max be next & for the love of God please let Jen be the one to tame him.

**Won an ARC ecopy. This does not affect the out come of my review. These are my honest thoughts & opinions of the book**

I actually liked this bool better than Derek's.

Nate - tall, broody, sexy, wrong side of the tracks feel
Trish - tiny, positive, dancer, Daddys money

Ok. First, MK is amazing.
Jack is hilarious.
Jen and Max need to hookup. And they need HEAs.

These two are living in different world's and make it work, and then some. Nate finds reason to live, laugh and love.

Dancer meets rocker. Ballerina and country, sex and smoke. They're a hot combo, and they just work.

I figured Trish's mom (Georgia) meeting MK would be a total disaster after her bad behavior meeting Nate, but how can you not love MK? She's just that kind of woman. And Georgia, despite being an uppity cow finally came around to being tolerable. MK gets her HEA, but it's not as if she ever wished otherwise or lived anything less than an amazing life.

I need to see these lyrics. Depserately. Please.

Nates making a go of moving on with his life after spending years living with guilt. He deserves happiness. And Trish is the complete opposite of someone like me, but seems like the one you can't help but like.

This is very Maybe Someday meets Beautiful Disaster. A smooth combo, good story.

This was a pleasant, sweet romance. Nate, the bassist of the band is haunted by the loss of his best friend. He keeps to himself, introverted and sad. He self-medicates by smoking pot to mute his feelings, observing the happiness of his family and friends through a haze of guilt. Trish, a ballet dancer is an extrovert. Secure and happy in her passion for dance, she meets Nate and is drawn to his sweet, sad disposition. In turn, Nate is drawn to happy, chatty demeanor and the feeling of ease he has when he's with her. They face some adversity from Trish's affluent family and his journey toward healing as they fall in love. They persevere, finding their happy ever after.

Received as an ARC for an honest review

This is the second book in the series about the band members of Ashes to Ashes. in the first book Nate is the often silent, mainly stoned bass player and in this book we find out the reasons behind his silence.

this is a story of love overcoming obstacles, he is the boy from the wrong side of the tracks, she is the ballerina from the wealthy background, their very different upbringings make for some awkward meetings with the relatives.

I would have liked a bit more reference to the music, both of the band and their influences I think it helps to build the atmosphere and that was a little lacking here but if you liked the first in the series you are going to enjoy finding out more about the other characters through this book. Especially MK, I think she deserves a book of her own!

Wow! I absolutely love the characters in the Beat of my Heart Series. The band members seriously go to the beat of their own drums. They are a tight knit group that is a family by choice and not by blood.

Nate is the quiet usually high bassist, that in the first book we really don't learn too much about. He keeps to himself and the only two people who really knew him before the extreme pain, he suffers from, are Derek and his mom MJ.

Trisha is a beautiful dancer who meets Nate at the gym she becomes a member of. The first night she meets him, he ends up helping her with her car and they spend more time talking than it took for him to fix the problem with her car. They both see that they come from different worlds. She comes from money and Nate does not. But will that keep them apart.

I recommend you read this awesome book. Read to find out what tragic event happened to make Nate seek to escape the emotions and pain he lives with. Does Trish and Nate connect despite them being complete opposites? You must read to find out if despite the disparity between their upbringings can they make a relationship work, end up alone or with someone else. Must read!!!

*** I received this book as an ARC to write my heart honest review ***

If you love Derek and Erin's story, surely enough you love this one.
Like you saw in Derek's Thorn, Nate is an instrospective guy who plays the bass. And likes weed.
Trish, the beauty one here, is a dancer who comes from a loaded family but sees the world with love and hope. Always possitive.
This story begings with the two meeting each other at the community center where Nate works. And the rest is story.
Nah, this is not all I have to say.
But no spoiler. So...
For me, this was a smooth ride with Nate and Trish loving each other so easily, so perfectly, accepting their scars, their flaws, all the backpackage they have with no problem.
I was expecting the whole thing would explode but that never came. Or that was what I thought. But was nothing that all of the love the band, MK and Trish have couldn't go through.
It was so easy fall for these two.

Honored mention to MK and Riker. I would love read more about those two.

I enjoyed this book more than Derek's Thorn, but I wasn't wowed by it. It's well written and I liked the characters, but for me it was missing something. Nate was from a disadvantaged background, with scars from his past - I would have liked to have seen more of the angst he was feeling. Trish has a wealthy background, and is perusing her dream of being a dancer. An enjoyable book.

This book was fabulous. It's the second in The Beat of my Heart Series and did not disappoint. I was so curious to know Nate's story and the more I learned about him the more I loved him. Trish was perfect for him. She brought him back after the weight of losing his best friend crushed him for years. At first glance they don't seem like they'd be a perfect match but they truly are. I love every member of their family of friends and can't wait for more from this series!

I liked Derek's story but I LOVED reading Nate's. It was kind of refreshing reading a story without the all popular alpha male in it. Nate is who he is and he doesn't apologize for it. I loved that Trish immediately saw him and realized he was hurting but didn't push him or pity him. They definitely brought out the best in each other. Loved MK in this book and would really like to hear more of her story. Can't wait to see who is up next! Thanks for the opportunity to read this!

Once the book started moving, I couldn't put it down; but it took a while. I really love the dynamic between Nate and Trish. Rich ballerina falls for the rockstar from the wrong side of the tracks and how they overcome. Between Derek's story and Nate's, my favorite character is MK. I truly hope she gets a happily ever after.

The book needs a clean up with editing and formatting, and I'm hoping they're able to manage that before it releases 2.7.17, otherwise it's a good read!
